TGF FFF: Color Combo Challenge!

Hi, Friends of the Farm! For my friends in the United States, I hope you had a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday! We’re kicking off a new Farm Fresh Friday challenge today at The Greeting Farm, and Farmer Joni is challenging us to create with a color combo: silver, baby blue and white!
I chose “Holiday Anya” for my card today and added the hand warmer from “Holiday Anya 3” to my main image.
I puffed up some Liquid Applique on the fur trim of her dress and hand warmer with a heat tool. It’s also what I used to create the mistletoe berries in her hair.
To work in the silver, I heat-set some silver ink with clear embossing powder on a strip of cardstock.
So there you have it! For all the details on this challenge, and to link up your entry, visit The Greeting Farm’s blog!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,

A new and colorful challenge at SCRS!

Happy Tuesday, everybody! It’s my turn to post a card for the new challenge at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps! This time, we’re inspired by a color combination, and I chose “Cafe Lucy” for my card:
SCRS supplies: “Cafe Lucy” image stamp, sentiment from “Seattle Chloe” set; Other supplies: designer paper (“Soho Garden” – American Crafts), button, twine, glitter brads, assorted Copic markers.
Here’s the color combo for your creative reference:
For all the details on this challenge, visit the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps blog, where you’ll find more inspiration from the SCRS team: Judith (our September guest), Debbie, and Kim also have cards to share with you for this challenge!
And, don’t forget, Sparkle is having a big sale in the SCRS Store! All unmounted rubber stamps have been reduced to $5 each! (This doesn’t include the July release stamps, which are cling-mounted and trimmed.) You don’t need a coupon code, just go shopping!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you’re having a wonderful week so far!
I’ll be back shortly with my regularly scheduled TGF Garden Variety Tuesday challenge post!

A colorful combination for Garden Variety Tuesday!

Hi, everybody! It’s my turn to post on The Greeting Farm’s blog and choose a theme for Garden Variety Tuesday!

I picked a color combo for today’s challenge, and here’s the easel card I made with “Frou Frou Birthday“! The flower tile accent and sentiment are from the “Layer Cake” clear stamp set.

I chose the color combo based on one of my favorite paper collections, “Park Bench” by Fancy Pants:

TGF Garden Variety Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday, y’all! It’s time for a new Garden Variety Tuesday at The Greeting Farm!
After seeing all of Farmer Joni‘s lovely no-line coloring, I am taking the plunge this week and trying it myself!
I am always skeptical when it comes to coloring things this way, but I’m pretty happy with the finished product! I always keep a “regular” stamped image of what I’m no-line coloring in front of me as I color. It helps to guide me as I’m trying to figure out the parts of the image.
TGF images are perfect for those of you who have been wanting to give no-line coloring a try. Starting with a very detailed image will quickly overwhelm you…start with something simpler and familiar and give it a try! I use Memento Angel Pink to stamp images when I’m no-line coloring instead of traditional black ink.
I went a bit retro on today’s card with “Wild West Anya”, who has ridden off into the sunset at The Greeting Farm (she’s retired). I also used TGF’s Polaroid die, which was just released this month as part of a 3-die set:
In case you haven’t guessed, today’s GVT is a color combo challenge:

Thanks so much for stopping by today, pardner!

It’s Garden Variety Tuesday at The Greeting Farm!

Howdy, Friends of the Farm! It’s time for a new Garden Variety Tuesday challenge at The Greeting Farm!
I decided to feature Latte Anya on today’s card:
Supplies: image stamp (Latte Anya” – The Greeting Farm), cardstock (Stampin UP), striped paper (Fancy Pants), assorted Copic markers, orange chevron paper (My Mind’s Eye), twine (Whisker Graphics), button, sewing machine, foam tape, embossing folder.
The sentiment is from my stash of various coffee-themed stamps. Before we moved to Virginia, we lived near Seattle, Washington, the home of Starbucks Coffee. I became quite a coffee snob in the process! Now that we’re back East, I don’t go out to Starbucks as much, but I still love a cup of coffee in the morning (even though now it’s the store brand)!
Our challenge for today is inspired by this group of photos. We’ve also included the color palette in case you’d like to draw your inspiration from it instead of the items in the photos.
For all the details and guidelines on this challenge, visit The Greeting Farm’s blog!

The deadline for this challenge is in two weeks, because we’re previewing the June release next week and won’t have a new GVT. So, be sure to upload your entry to the TGF blog before Monday, June 3 at NOON CST.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs,

For my card, I chose “Monday Morning” and let the colors in the photo inspire my card. I also threw in some chevron patterned paper and used a coordinating embossing folder for one of my elements.
Since she’s a Creeper, I thought it would be fun to color her in different shades of cool grey, with just some spot color on her outfit.
Supplies: image stamp (“Monday Morning” – The Greeting Farm), polka dot paper (Echo Park Dots & Stripes), flower, aqua/black stripes: (Basic Grey Lucille), brown chevron paper (My Mind’s Eye), sewing machine, Copic markers, Copic Spica clear glitter pen, rolled flower dies, white marker, Spellbinders Labels 28,  glitter brads (American Crafts).

I’ll be back tomorrow to share a new TGF Retro-Fresh challenge card with you!

TGF Double Take Tuesday: Blue and Brown

It’s Double Take Tuesday time again at The Greeting Farm! Are you loving all the previews of the new stamps that were just released? I’m having fun coloring and creating with all of them!

I think my favorite this time around is “Anya Blooms.” While I’m enjoying all of the new stamps, I fell in love with the “Big Time Anyas” when they were released a few months ago during TGF’s birthday celebration. So, it might not be surprising that I chose “Anya Blooms” to be my first TGF DT card this month.

Our DTT challenge for this week is the color combo of blue and brown. Here’s my card:

(You might recognize the new flower die and stamps from last month’s release!)
To make the accent, I stamped the flower center on a chipboard circle, then colored it with a lighter marker to match the daisies that Anya’s holding. The flower was cut from a scrap of plain white cardstock. I used a light grey marker to add some dimension to the die cut so it matches the daisies. Then, I stamped two leaves on coordinating paper, cut them out and added them under the flower accent.
Ready to join in on the fun? Great! Here’s what you need to know:
    • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
    • Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz on the TGF blog no later than Monday, March 11, 2013 at NOON CST
    • You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria.
    • (If the InLinkz tool is missing, feel free to link your submission URL in the post’s comment section.)
    • The fabulous prize: A random participant will be selected to win a digital image of choice from the TGF store.
    • And here’s the double take: each week, our friends have the opportunity to DOUBLE that prize to either two digis or, you can trade those two digis for a SINGLE rubber stamp of choice, as long as we have 20 or more players each week! Encourage all your friends and family to play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don’t forget, there’s still time to link your entries on the TGF blog for our Farm Fresh Friday challenge (flowers) and a few more days to join in our Retro-Fresh challenge (hearts)!
