Color Throwdown #116

We went to Home Depot today, and when we walked in, my husband saw that all of the artificial Christmas trees were on display and said, “Already? It’s not even Thanksgiving.” We both remember when the day after Thanksgiving was the “official” start of the Christmas season, but it seems that every year, Christmas displays are out earlier and earlier!

I have to admit, I’m kind of putting off making our Christmas cards. Since I’ve started card making as a hobby, my worry is that people know I make cards and that they won’t be pretty or fancy enough! I know, that’s pretty silly, but hopefully I can get them made soon!

It’s great to work on card challenges because they make me think of color combinations or ideas that inspire other projects, and the color combo for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge is perfect for getting in the holiday spirit:

I used a cute cardinal stamp from Imaginisce as the main image on my card:

Supplies: Stamps (cardinal – Imaginisce, sentiment – Studio G), Ink (Stampin’ Up!), Paper (Basic Grey), Cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), Jeweled snowflake (Imaginisce).
My Mom’s favorite bird is the cardinal, and whenever I see one, I think of her. This could even be the card I send her for Christmas! I actually paper-pieced the cardinal…even his tiny earmuffs!
Thanks so much for stopping by to look at my card!
I hope you’re inspired with a bit of the Christmas spirit…and there’s lots more to see over at the Color Throwdown!

Oh my gosh, this is the cutest thing ever! I even have that paper and forgot all about it! Don't worry about what people think about your cards either…..they will just be impressed that you MADE them! Thanks so much for playing the CTD and using my colors this week!
