Lawnscaping Challenge #143

Hi! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping Challenge, and we’re inspired by snow! I am not yet ready for it to snow here, but it looks great on a card!

I’m still working out my yearly Christmas card design. This is one of the designs I’m considering because I want to avoid paying for extra postage! I used the limited Lawn Fawn “Happy Howlidays” set, but if you have the “Happy Howloween” set, it has a pup similar to the one I used. You can also find a little Santa hat in several of the Lawn Fawn sets!

Lawnscaping Challenge 142

Hi, everybody! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping challenge!

With Thanksgiving coming up this week, we’re showing our appreciation with a “thank you”-themed challenge! Here’s a look at my card:

I used Lawn Fawn’s “Happy Harvest” set and colored the scene with Copics in the E40-E44 range. I also used E81, E84 and E87 to add shadows.

I stamped the sentiment and used the “Stitched Borders” Lawn cuts on the edges of the card stock. I stamped and colored the large sunflower and added a button in the center to make a custom accent.

Lawnscaping Challenge #141

Hi! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping Challenge!

For this challenge, we’re keeping things Clean & Simple! I used Lawn Fawn’s “Love You a Latte” set, and borrowed the sentiment from the “Treat Yourself” mini set.

Lawnscaping Challenge 140

Hi, everybody! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping challenge, and this time, we picked two colors, and you pick the third!

Our challenge colors are black and purple, so I picked orange as my third color. I used Lawn Fawn’s “Monster Mash” stamp set to make the background, then sponged different shades of orange and purple ink on top.

Here’s a closer look at the card. I placed the stamped panel on some black polka dot paper from the “Let’s Polka in the Meadow” petite paper pack.

I heat embossed the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock and stamped one of the monsters in the set to make a custom accent.

A special anniversary card!

Hi, everybody! It’s my day to post on the Lawnscaping blog, and today I’m sharing this card that I made for my husband. (We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary two weeks ago.)

100_6223wm

I have some background on why I added certain things to the card in my post on the Lawnscaping blog. but I thought I’d give some more details here on my personal blog.

I used two of the pups from the limited-edition Lawn Fawn set that was sold at Simon Says Stamp. (I often use dachshunds on cards I make for my husband because we have a very spoiled black dachshund. Our little doxie is super spoiled, because he’s pretty much like our kid!)

Anyway, the treats on the plate are beignets. One of our first trips together was a vacation in New Orleans, and every morning, my husband would walk from the hotel down to the Cafe du Monde and pick up beignets (fried doughnut squares) and coffee for breakfast. The to-go orders of beignets come in a white paper bag, and a ton of powdered sugar is sprinkled on top.

In a misguided attempt to show off, I shook the closed bag to redistribute the powdered sugar. When he opened the bag, he was surprised by a POOF of powdered sugar in his face. That incident became known as the “beignet bomb,” and it has been a joke between us ever since.

I listed the different stamp sets that I used to make this card in my post at the Lawnscaping blog. I hope you’ll stop by and say hello!

Thanks for stopping by today! Don’t forget, a new challenge starts on Monday at the Lawnscaping blog! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Lawnscaping Challenge 139

Hi! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping Challenge! The calendar may say that it’s fall, but it hasn’t felt like it yet where I live! It is my favorite time of year, though, so I’m willing to wait a little longer for the cooler temperatures!

For this challenge, we used a Pinterest-type mood board to create something  inspired by one or more of the photos. I used Lawn Fawn’s retired “Harvest Season” set (because it’s the only one that I have with giant leaf stamps).

100_6231wm

I stamped the leaves on a piece of vellum, then heat embossed some copper powder on top. I used the Woodgrain Backdrops set and stamped the pattern on a piece of kraft cardstock, then stamped my sentiment. (It’s from the Happy Harvest set.)

100_6234wm

To complete the card, I added some neutral twine and a decorated wood button. The background paper is part of the “Let’s Polka in the Dark” petite paper pad.

Lawnscaping Challenge 137

Hi! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping Challenge! School started a few weeks ago for me, so I’ve been getting back into my regular study routine. The summer went by fast, but I’m glad to be back on a regular schedule.

We’re adding texture to our creations for this challenge, and I’m using one of my favorite texture techniques: heating Liquid Applique after it’s applied to paper to puff it up.

Here’s my card:
100_6200wm

I used one of the sheep from Lawn Fawn’s Baaah Humbug set, the coffee cup from Holiday Party Animal and combined words from a sentiment in Sophie’s Sentiments and the Baaah Humbug set.  The background paper is from the Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pack.

Lawnscaping Challenge 135

Hi, everybody! It’s a new month and also time for a new Lawnscaping Challenge!
The theme for Challenge #135 is “Patterned Palooza“, which means we’d like you to use patterns of some kind in your entry. For example, you can use patterned paper, or make your own pattern with your craft supplies and stamps!

Here’s my card. I used stamps from Lawn Fawn’s “On The Mend” and “Treat Yourself” sets. I think any friend or loved one going through a difficult time in their personal life would love to get a card like this card in the mail!

100_6166wm

I covered the face on the tissue stamp with washi tape to mask it and paper pieced the box with scraps from the “Perfectly Plaid” petite paper pack. the ice cream container and curved panel were made with sheets from the “Let’s Polka Mon Amie” petite paper pack, specifically the sheets of Strawberry Polka and Mint Line Dance.  I colored the spoon with a silver gel pen.
