Unscripted Sketches #85

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch!
Today I get to “play” with my monthly stamp group, The Stamping Together Divas! I’m so excited! It’s definitely one of the highlights of each month for me!
If you’re just finding Unscripted Sketches, every Saturday morning we post a sketch for the week. Flip the sketch, rotate it…create a card, a scrapbook page, or anything your imagination comes up with! There’s no right or wrong way, as long as you’re using the Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration and basis of your creation!
Here’s this week’s sketch (#85):
For my card, I combined papers from My Little Shoebox with this darling stamp by Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps (Lantern Rin)! Sparkle is also part of my monthly stamping group, and she’s the one who persuaded me to make the jump to Copics (although I didn’t need much persuading)!

The card’s sentiment comes from Lawn Fawn’s “How Delightful” set. I thought it would work well with the lantern theme. I’m still working on improving my Copic coloring skills, and I hope to take classes and possibly get certified in 2011.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card… I hope I’ve inspired you to do something crafty this weekend! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s Unscripted Sketch!

For my card I chose Sparkle Creations’ own Cruisin’ Chloe!

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

colourQ #62

The colors in this week’s colourQ challenge definitely inspired me to get crafting!

What bright, beautiful festive colors! It’s good to be done with my Christmas cards, so it’s fun for me to use holiday colors like these in different ways! I thought these colors would work great with one of the stamps I bought from The Greeting Farm:

Supplies: Cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), patterned paper (Basic Grey, October Afternoon, Imaginisce, Sassafras), ink (AMuse), markers (Copic), sentiment sticker (SRM Stickers), white and silver gel pens, foam squares, scalloped circle punch, adhesive gems.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

Stacey’s Stamping Stage: Curtain Call Act 59

This week’s Curtain Call color challenge at Stacey’s Stamping Stage features some festive holiday colors!
For my card, I used a wreath stamp from The Rubber Cafe, colored it with some Copics and added some adhesive rhinestones:

Other supplies: Adhesive rhinestones (Queen & Co.), Ink (aMuse), rub-on (Making Memories), embossing folder (Sizzix)
I used the Basic Gray cardstock as a mat/frame for my card, then layered an embossed rectangle of Whisper White. The wreath was cut out and I used foam squares for dimension. After applying the sentiment to white cardstock, I matted it on Always Artichoke and then on top of a strip of Jillibean Soup patterned paper.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!
There’s still time to get linked up with this week’s Curtain Call challenge! The deadline is Friday, December 10th before midnight (CST)! Visit Stacey’s Stamping Stage for all the details!

Unscripted Sketches #84

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another week of Unscripted Sketches!

I’m feeling pretty good now that I’ve finished my Christmas cards! I only send out about 20 each year, so it’s never a huge project. The hardest part for me is deciding on my design, paper, and image!

So, now that my Christmas cards are done, I can feel better about playing with other stamps and papers!

Here’s this week’s Unscripted Sketch:

I used a digital stamp from The Greeting Farm for my card, and paired it with paper from The Paper Loft’s Dude collection:

Other supplies: Cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), paper (Cosmo Cricket), Stickles, glaze gel pens, ribbon.
I’m still working on improving my Copic coloring skills, I’ve done a lot of practicing lately, which involves printing out digi stamps on cardstock, and just coloring a bunch of images to practice. It also gives me lots of pre-finished images to choose from for my cards!
Thanks for stopping by! Don’t forget to see what the other fabulous Unscripted Sketches Design Team ladies have in store for you: Alanna, Angy, April, Arielle, Becky, CherylAnn, Debbie, Gardenia, Jenny, Lelia, Linda, Marcy, Sarah Kaye and Stephanie!
I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s Unscripted Sketch! You all ROCK!

Get Sketchy #67

This week’s Get Sketchy challenge is sponsored by Prima and is based on the following sketch:

The row of circles on the sketch reminded me of snowballs, so I paired them with mittens for my card!
The sketch shows 7 circles, but I changed it to 6 so I wouldn’t have a non-paired mitten! The papers on my card are from Basic Grey’s Jovial and American Crafts’ Merrymint collections. The mitten stamps and rub-on sentiments are by Imaginisce.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

Stampin’ Celebration #30

This week’s Stampin’ Celebration challenge features some gorgeous, festive photo inspiration:

I was inspired by the various shades of purple and the silvery metallics when I made my card:

I used one of the Greeting Farm’s Anya stamps, with some paper from Cosmo Cricket and Bo Bunny on my card. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. I made a stencil with a star punch and stenciled the stars on the border strip. I border punched a strip of paper and inked it with silver metallic ink. The stamp is colored with Copic markers.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card! There’s still time to get linked up for this week’s Stampin’ Celebration challenge!

Color Throwdown #121

I’m participating in this week’s Color Throwdown challenge (#121)…I couldn’t resist the cool, wintery colors!

and here’s my card!

I used some Technique Tuesday stamps to make the snowflake backgrounds on the cardstock, and embossed some Natural White cardstock for the base. After assembling the mosaic of squares, I die-cut a snowflake and added Stickles to give it some sparkle! To finish the card, I added some adhesive gems and a rub-on sentiment on matching cardstock.
