Unscripted Sketches: Should Old Sketches Be Forgot…

3…2…1…HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hope you all have a fantastic 2011! And since New Year’s Day falls on a Saturday this year, I’ve got an Unscripted Sketch for you!

For this week’s challenge, pick any of the previous sketches from 1-87 and do a new project using that sketch! Please note which sketch you used in your entry post.

I used Unscripted Sketch #20 for my card, which was (hastily) completed last night when we got home from our holiday road trip to California to visit Scott’s family and some of our friends. It’s fun to travel, but it’s true…there’s no place like home!

Here’s the sketch I used:

and here’s my card, which features a freebie digital image, courtesy of The Greeting Farm (you can find it by visiting their blog)!

Other supplies: paper (Basic Grey), cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), embossing folder (Sizzix), sentiment stamp (Lawn Fawn), ribbon (American Crafts), markers (Copic), ink (Stampin’ Up!), glitter gel pen, sewing machine, foam squares, adhesive rhinestones.
I’m very happy with how my Copic coloring skills are coming along! I haven’t taken any classes yet, but I hope to this year and I’d also love to be certified! I love how the hair came out on this one!
Don’t forget to check out the other Unscripted Team Members’ blogs: Alanna, AngyArielle, Becky, CherylAnn, Debbie, Gardenia, Jenny, Lelia, Linda, Marcy, Sarah Kaye and Stephanie!

colourQ #65

Welcome back for the last colourQ challenge of 2010! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s set of challenge colors!

Here’s my card! I’ve been saving this paper from Hambly Studios for a while…and I couldn’t wait to use it for this card!
The stamps I used are from Lawn Fawn (Sew Lovely set). The strip of gray is cardstock that I matted on black and used a white gel pen to add the stitching.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card! The colourQ Royal Court has some magnificent creations to inspire you! Happy crafting!

Unscripted Sketches #87

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Hope you are all having a fun Christmas holiday! We’re over at Scott’s sister’s house enjoying Christmas and spending time with our niece…always a good time!
Not only is today Christmas, but it’s also Saturday, and that means it’s time for another Unscripted Sketch! Hopefully this weekend you’ll have time to get crafty and make something wonderful with this week’s sketch!
I often start working on holiday cards way ahead of time, because I donate many of my cards. Most of the time, the deadlines are several months early, so, I’ve already started on Valentine cards…and I made one of them with this week’s sketch!

For this card, I used stamps from Lawn Fawn’s “Hats Off to You” and “Critters in the ‘Burbs” sets, and the sentiment was stamped using”Jessie’s ABC’s.” I used patterned paper from Bo Bunny & Die Cuts with a View. The silver paper is the back of some American Crafts paper. I added faux stitching with a white gel pen and replaced the O in “love” with a heart-shaped rhinestone.

colourQ #64

I’m thrilled to announce that I’m the newest member of the colourQ Royal Court Design Team! All of the ladies on the team are super talented and creative, and I’m honored to be creating along with them!
This is my official “debut” week, so without further introduction, here are this week’s challenge colors:
Here’s my card:

Supplies: ink (aMuse), stamps (Lawn Fawn), cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), embossing folder (Sizzix), paper (Bo Bunny), die cut template (Spellbinders), ribbon.
I love the shades of pink and red in the challenge colors, and thought they’d be perfect for a love/valentine card, and also to use some new stamps I got from Lawn Fawn!
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s colourQ challenge colors! The other Royal Court members have created some beautiful examples for you, and to visit their blogs, just click on the links to the right!
The entry deadline for this week’s challenge is MONDAY, December 27th at 12 noon CST to be considered for colourQueen! You can find all of the details at the colourQ!

Unscripted Sketches #86

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch!
If you’re just finding Unscripted Sketches, every Saturday morning we post a sketch for the week. Flip the sketch, rotate it…create a card, a scrapbook page, or anything your imagination comes up with! There’s no right or wrong way, as long as you’re using the Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration and basis of your creation!
Are you ready for the holidays? I am, for the most part…my Christmas cards were mailed last week, and our Christmas shopping has been finished for a while.
Thursday night, I finished a set of generic “kid” birthday cards for my sister-in-law (part of her Christmas gift). All we have left is to wrap presents, which I enjoy doing…I hope to get those done this weekend!
Now, on to this week’s sketch:
There’s an optional piggyback challenge this week, which is to make your entry (card, scrapbook page or other project) using NO patterned paper!
This piggyback was especially tough for me, because I LOVE using patterned paper on my cards! If going without patterned paper is not an option for you, NO WORRIES…it’s not a mandatory part of playing along with us this week!
Here’s the card I made for this week’s sketch:

Supplies: stamp (Imaginisce), cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), white gel pen, markers (Copic), embossing folder (Sizzix); sentiment printed using CK Journaling font with an inkjet printer.
I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s Unscripted Sketch! Don’t forget to visit the other fabulous Unscripted Sketches team members: Alanna, Angy, April, Arielle, Becky, CherylAnn, Debbie, Gardenia, Jenny, Lelia, Linda, Marcy, Sarah Kaye and Stephanie!

colourQ #63

I’m so excited to be a new member of the colourQ Royal Court Design Team! Even though my “official” start isn’t until next week, I still wanted to play along with this week’s set of challenge colors, which are inspired by napkins from World Market (I love that store)!

Here are the colors for colourQ Challenge #63:

and here’s my card:
One of my goals is to finish all my upcoming design team cards before we head to California for Christmas. As long as I make and photograph the cards, I can blog from the road!
Supplies: cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), image stamps (Lawn Fawn – dog & Santa hat), (The Rubber Cafe’ – bone), sentiment stamp (Stampin’ Up!), ink (aMuse), markers (Copic), patterned paper (American Crafts, Bo Bunny Double Dot), border punch (Fiskars), ribbon (Stampin’ Up!).
Thanks so much for stopping by to look at my card!
Visit the colourQ for more festive inspiration…I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s set of challenge colors! You can also visit the other members of the Royal Court by clicking on the links to the right! Happy crafting!

Lawn Fawn Card #3

This is my third entry for Lawn Fawn’s first challenge (the winner will be featured in Lawn Fawn’s first catalog and will be showcased in the Lawn Fawn booth at CHA in January):

I used Lawn Fawn’s “Critters in the Burbs” set for this one…the background is hand-stamped and colored using the acorn stamp from the set. I used the same acorn to mask a stamped pile at the bottom of the tree. I used “Jessie’s ABC’s” to create the custom sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card! (My other two entries can be found HERE and HERE.)
For all the details on this challenge (it runs until December 17th at 11:59 PM EST) and to see the other entries, visit the Lawn Fawn blog!

Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #23

Even though I’d love to try real machine stitching on my cards, for this week’s Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp Challenge, I went with faux stitching and Sparkle Creations’ Scooter Chloe! This week’s random challenge winner over at SCRS will get Turntable Josh!
I am so glad Bo Bunny started releasing mini paper pads with their new collections! I’m using mini papers from their new Crazy Love collection on my card! The border strip that I used is from Basic Grey’s Kraft Basics mini pad.

Other supplies: cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), ink (aMuse), sentiment stamp (Lawn Fawn), brads, embossing folder (Sizzix), adhesive foam squares.
I colored Chloe with my Copics and added faux stitching with a white gel pen. I also embossed a piece of kraft cardstock to mat Chloe on.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

Lawn Fawn Card Contest (with Sew Lovely set)

Lawn Fawn Stamps is hosting a contest to feature fan-made cards in their booth at CHA in January (and in their first ever catalog!)…since I love their stamps, I had to make some cards to enter!

If you’re interested in entering, too, you can find all the details on the contest and which stamp sets to use on the Lawn Fawn blog!

Here’s my first card using their Sew Lovely stamp set (one of the first Lawn Fawn sets I bought, and still one of my favorites):

My second entry for the contest is below (please scroll down to see it)!
Thanks for stopping by to look at my cards!
