Here’s the sketch:

Supplies: stamps (My Cute Stamps – Sweet Kawaii set), ink (Tsukineko Brilliance in Graphite Black), Copic markers, Ranger Glossy Accents, ribbon, EK Success border punch, paper (My Mind’s Eye Fly a Kite collection, scrap from ki Memories paper – orange,) SU! Kraft cardstock.
Thanks again for stopping by…
There’s still time to enter this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge — the deadline is this Friday at 10PM Mountain Time — so get all the details (including links to what their DT created for this challenge) on the sweetest thing blog!

Unscripted Sketches #107

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketches challenge! In addition to our weekly sketch challenge, it’s also time for the optional piggyback challenge! This week’s piggyback is to use metal on your entry.

If you’re just finding Unscripted Sketches, every Saturday morning we post a sketch for the week. Flip the sketch, rotate it…make a card, a scrapbook page, or anything your imagination comes up with! There’s no right or wrong way, as long as you’re using the Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration and basis of your creation!

Here’s Sketch 107…

and here’s my card! My metal embellishments are the yellow button brad and the gold brad that’s at the center of the large flower. Of course, all of our piggyback challenges are optional, whether or not you want to participate in them is up to you!

Supplies: stamp – image and sentiment (Shopping Emily – Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps), buttons, metal brad, Copic markers, Stickles, twine, foam tape, patterned paper (Basic Grey’s Hello Luscious collection)
This weekend, I’m getting together with a crafty friend of mine and I’m hoping to get lots of cards done! The weather’s been so nice here (finally)! Wishing you lots of crafty fun this weekend!

Cute Card Thursday #165: Let’s Get Krafty!

I began coloring stamped images on kraft paper a few months ago, and it definitely produces a neat effect, especially if you use a white gel pen in your coloring. While surfing the Web, I came across the latest challenge at Cute Card Thursday, which is to color your main stamped or printed image on kraft cardstock!

Here’s the card I made for the challenge! The stamps are from a Hero Arts cling set:

Supplies: paper (October Afternoon Fly A Kite, Sassafrass – yellow polka dot paper, misc. scrap of red polka dot paper),  buttons, lace, ink (Stampin’ Up Soft Suede), Copic markers, foam tape, Spellbinders die, linen thread.
This week’s challenge is sponsored by Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps, and the winner will receive their choice of three digis from the Some Odd Girl digi shop!
If you’d like to play along with this challenge, visit Cute Card Thursday and link your entry! The challenge runs until 8pm GMT on Wednesday 25th May 2011.

Thanks for stopping by!

Some Odd Girl Challenge: Make A Scene!

I love playing along with the challenges at Some Odd Girl Digital (and now several clear) Stamps! This week’s challenge, which runs through May 31, is to create a scene on your entry!

For my card, I paired the ever-fantastic Dancin’ Mae & Dancin’ Kaylee:

I created the background windows with some paper from Basic Grey’s Wander collection, and made a dance floor with some cardstock scraps. The disco ball is a punched circle with lots of rhinestones for extra sparkle! I typed the sentiment and colored both girls with Copics and a metallic gel pen. They also got some “pop” with foam tape!
Thanks for stopping by!
If you’re inspired to create a scene for this challenge, check out the Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps blog and see how their Odd Girls rocked this challenge!

CPS 218

Thanks for stopping by to look at my entry for this week’s Card Positioning Systems (CPS) sketch challenge! Here’s the sketch for this week…sponsored by Lawn Fawn Stamps!

Here’s my card! I used paper from Jillibean Soup’s “Atomic Soup” collection and a strip of paper from Basic Grey’s “Wander” collection.

Other supplies: robot stamp (DeNami Design Rubber Stamps), typed sentiment, Copic Markers, glitter gel pen, Glossy Accents, journal card (Jillibean Soup), mini brads (Tim Holtz)
I didn’t have matching atomic symbols, so I drew them in a graphic design program and added re-colored adhesive rhinestones to the centers.
If you’d like to play along with this week’s CPS challenge, visit the blog for all the details!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #117

I think this is the first time I’ve entered a Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, but it definitely won’t be the last! The sketch this week was so tempting, I had to try it…
My card is slightly different than what I usually make…it measures 3.5″ x 5.5″ and uses a stamp from Whiff of Joy’s Medieval Collection, “Warrior Battling Charlie”:
I didn’t like the way his shield came out when I first colored it, so I stamped another, colored it and used foam squares to place it on top of the other one. I also used Glossy Accents on his armor, sword and shield.
Instead of putting another element in the place where the branch is on the original sketch, I typed the sentiment and glued it on the contrasting paper strip.
Thanks for stopping by!

colourQ #85

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge! Here are this week’s colors:
This week’s color combo is so very far out of my usual palette, but I took on the challenge and kept my card simple!
All of the Stampin’ Up! cardstocks I used are in the challenge colors, and the buttons are from my stash. I used twine to “sew” the buttons and a Sizzix embossing folder. The sentiment is from My Little Shoebox.
Still looking for more inspiration with this week’s challenge colors? You’re in luck! The rest of the colourQ Royal Court have some phenomenally gorgeous examples to show you!
You can see their creations by visiting the colourQ blog (where you can also link up your entry for this week’s challenge) or by visiting their blogs using the links to the left under this week’s challenge colors!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s colourQ!

Moxie Fab World’s Chevron Chic Challenge!

One of the latest challenges at the Moxie Fab World blog is to incorporate chevron stripes into your papercrafting projects! Here’s an example of some fabric that’s definitely chevron chic, and was one of the inspiration examples for this challenge:

Here’s my card!

Supplies: paper (My Mind’s Eye), tiny screwhead brads (Tim Holtz), font (Punch Label via the Internet), colorbox cat’s eye ink for edging, metal washer, twine, craft knife, cardstock.
Instead of cutting letters out of the patterned paper, I hand-cut the letters into the paper and saved the middles to put back in. First, I printed the letters on paper, used temporary adhesive, then used a craft knife to cut the letters out. I adhered some white cardstock behind the patterned paper, then finished the card with coordinating accents.
I typed the sentiment, printed it and added Glossy Accents to make it look more like label tape.
So now that you’ve seen the card I’m entering for the “Chevron Chic Challenge” in the Moxie Fab World, there’s still time for you to be inspired and play along, too!
This challenge runs until midnight EDT on Monday, May 30! So check out more inspiring examples of chevron chic trendiness at the Moxie Fab World blog and get your creation linked up!
Thanks for stopping by!
