colourQ #84

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge (#84)!

I thought this week’s colors would be perfect for a masculine/boy card:

So I made one!

The stamp I used is from The Greeting Farm’s Oliver & Amelia set “Happy Day.” I colored the image with Copics, used decorative scissors to cut around the edges, then mounted it on a piece of embossed cardstock. The papers I used were various scraps from my stash. I typed, colored and cut out the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by!
You can check out what the rest of the colourQ Royal Court has created with this week’s colors by visiting the colourQ blog or by clicking on their blog links to the left under this week’s set of challenge colors!
I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s colourQ! Don’t forget to link up your entry at the colourQ blog before SUNDAY, May 15 at noon CST, to be considered for this week’s colourQueen!

CPS 217

Hi! Thanks for stopping by to look at my entry for Card Positioning Systems (CPS) sketch #217! This week’s challenge is sponsored by Paper Smooches!

Here’s the sketch for this week:

and here’s my card:

Supplies: digital stamp (Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps – Roller Mae), paper (Basic Grey Lauderdale, Green at Heart, Life of the Party), Copic markers, Stickles (Star Dust and Fruit Punch), button brads (Making Memories), foam squares, embossing folder (Sizzix), typed sentiment.

Card Patterns – Sketch 114

Hi! Thanks for stopping by to look at my card inspired by Card Patterns’ Sketch #114!
Here’s the sketch for this week’s challenge:

and here’s my card! I’ve had this little guy colored for a while (The Greeting Farm’s “Soldier Ian“), but I’ve been saving him for a great sketch like this one!

The paper is from two different Basic Grey collections (Origins and Wander). Soldier Ian is colored with various Copic markers, and the digi camo pattern was added freehand. I typed the sentiment and hand-cut the heart, which is spiffed up with Glossy Accents. The border punch I used is by Martha Stewart crafts, and the embossing folder is by Sizzix/Tim Holtz. A few copper brads from my stash finish the card.
Thanks again for stopping by! This challenge runs until Friday, May 13th at 11:59PM EST, so there’s still time to link your entry at the Card Patterns blog!

Unscripted Sketches #105

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketches challenge (#105)!
AND … wishing all of the moms out there a happy Mother’s Day!

This week’s sketch was fun and got my creative mojo going in a different direction! I don’t normally do longer cards, but after playing with this week’s sketch, I can see some more non-standard A2 sized cards in my future!

Here’s the sketch for this week:

and here’s my card!

Once I figured out what images I wanted to use, it came together pretty quickly! The paper I used is from Basic Grey’s “Hello Luscious” collection. The stamp set is by My Little Shoebox, and the ribbon is from my stash.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fantastic weekend … with both National Scrapbook Day and Mother’s Day to celebrate!

Some Odd Girl – Get Into Shape Challenge!

It’s great to break out of my design rut every once in a while and do something totally different! That’s why I love the latest challenge at Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps, which is to make a shaped card!

I used SOG’s “Mae Yay” digi and created a star-shaped card:

My template was two stars that I drew in Microsoft Publisher. I have a special document with guidelines that I use to measure the size of something before I print it. I glued the stars together from the top to about halfway down the top point, so the card opens and closes without coming apart.
The paper is from Crate Paper’s Neighborhood collection. I added Star Dust Stickles to each polka dot to give it some extra sparkle and shine! I typed, printed and colored the sentiment. Mae is colored with Copics and a glitter gel pen. I used foam squares to give her some dimension. The finishing touch was created with a bow of pink gingham ribbon.
One lucky random winner gets two digis from the Some Odd Girl Shop! This challenge runs until May 17 at midnight EST. Visit the Some Odd Girl blog to see what the Odd Girls have created and to check out the other entries for the challenge!
Thanks for stopping by!

colourQ #83

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge!
Hope you all had a great weekend! We spent most of Sunday shopping around Seattle and enjoying some fantastic sunny spring weather!
This week’s set of challenge colors are perfect to get you in a sunny, happy creative mood!
I paired this week’s colors with The Greeting Farm’s “Mermaid Anya“:

Supplies: cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), paper (Basic Grey – Hopscotch collection), embossing folders (Sizzix/Tim Holtz – dot pattern, QuickKutz – larger circle pattern), coral digi (Freebie from MelJen Designs), Copic markers, adhesive pearls (Kaisercraft), Stickles (Star Dust), embroidery floss, border punch (EK Success), foam squares, typed sentiment (font used: – CK Handprint).
To make the hook, I bent a paper clip and snipped off the excess. I used a Xyron to add adhesive to the embroidery floss, threaded it through the hole in the “hook” and then shaped it on the card.
Thanks for stopping by! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s challenge colors! Don’t forget to link up your entry on the colourQ blog!

Some Odd Girl: Hot Mommas Challenge!

The latest challenge at Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps is to create something MOM-themed! And, Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps recently released a set of related digis featuring brides, new moms & babies!
My entry features one of my favorite SOG digis, “Garden Mae“! I chose her for my card because she reminds me of my mom, who loves gardening and working in her flower beds. I wish I had inherited her talents for working with plants and flowers…her knowledge and skill with gardening are amazing!

Here’s my card:

Supplies: paper (Echo Park – For the Record, Basic Grey – Life of the Party), handmade flowers, typed sentiment, white gel pen, foam squares markers (Copic).
Thanks for stopping by! This challenge runs until May 3 at midnight EST.
The random winner will get 2 digis from the Some Odd Girl shop! Check out the Odd Girls’ creations for this challenge at the Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps blog and see what others have entered! Then link up your entry!
