colourQ #88

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge!
I got my hair cut yesterday…I’m still trying to grow it out, but it needs shaping from time to time, especially when my bangs start to drive me crazy!
I did a little bit of supply shopping too, but I only came home with some trimmer blades, tape gun refills and a magnet sheet for a calendar project I’ve been working on. I guess that’s a good thing, right?
Anyway, on to this week’s colourQ (#88):
My card for this week is pretty simple. The colors reminded me of coffee and hearts, so I combined the two:
Supplies: image stamps – coffee cup and heart in center, (Elzybells Art Stamps), sentiment (The Cat’s Pajamas), clear buttons (Stampin’ Up!) recolored with a Copic marker, ink (SU! Soft Suede), paper (Basic Grey), cardstock (Stampin’ Up!) embossing folder (Sizzix).
For more inspiring ideas, visit the rest of the colourQ Royal Court either at the colourQ blog or at their personal blogs, which you can find by using the links at the left under the photo of this week’s challenge colors! When you’re ready, link your entry at the colourQ! If you’d like to be considered for this week’s colourQueen, have your entry in by Sunday, June 12 at noon Central time!
Hope you all have a fantastic week! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Unscripted Sketches #109

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch! I hope you had a great week and are ready to get crafty this weekend! I’m planning to go to a stamp warehouse sale this morning…so hopefully I’ll find some great deals and some new stamps to play with!
If you’re just finding out about Unscripted Sketches, here’s how the challenge works: every Saturday morning we post a sketch for the week. Flip the sketch, rotate it…make a card, a scrapbook page, or anything your imagination comes up with! There’s no right or wrong way, as long as you’re using the Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration and basis of your creation!
Here’s our sketch for this week (#109):
and here’s my card! I changed the proportions of the sketch a little, making my card in a standard size instead of the square shape of the sketch. I kept the large bands of color, but left a little bit of space between the bands and the borders of the card. Instead of putting the sentiment above the main image, I moved it to the lower left.

Supplies: paper (Crate Paper Snow Day – Candy), strips of random paper in red and brown, Copic markers, typed sentiment, milk & cookie digital stamps (I drew them!), Glossy Accents, glitter brads.
I’m still experimenting with drawing my own digital stamps. These were done before I got my wacom tablet, so they’re done in MS Publisher.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Don’t forget to see what the rest of the Unscripted Sketches DT has created for you this week: Arielle, Becky, CherylAnn, Debbie, Gardenia, Jenny, KathyJo, Linda, Loes, Mary, Monique, Regan, Rudlis, Sarah Kaye, Steph, and Susan!
And once you’ve been inspired, stop by the Unscripted Sketches blog to link your entry for this week! Hope you have a wonderful and crafty weekend!

colourQ #87

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge! I hope you all had a safe and wonderful Memorial Day weekend! We went to see the Seattle Mariners play the Yankees on Sunday, and had a great time!
Here’s your groovy colourQ combo for this week:
And here’s my card! I used Soft Suede ink for all of my stamping:

Supplies: stamps (image – Crafty Secrets Art Blooms, sentiment – Lawn Fawn), ink (Stampin’ Up! Soft Suede), Copic markers, Stampin’ Up! cardstock in Crushed Curry and Soft Suede, ribbon, Sizzix embossing folder.
With all of the bold colors in this week’s combo, I wanted to give each one a chance to be seen without being overpowering. I like the way the Soft Suede ink and cardstock soften the overall look of the card.
Thanks for stopping by! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s colourQ
For more inspiration, visit the rest of the colourQ Royal Court at the colourQ blog (where you can also link up your entry) or at their personal blogs (just click the links to the left under this week’s colourQ)!
To be considered for colourQueen, make sure your entry is posted by Sunday, June 5 at noon Central time. Please focus on the challenge colors for your project, and be sure to link back to the colourQ in your blog post!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #119

Thanks for stopping by for a closer look at my entry for Sweet Sunday Sketch #119!

Here’s the fun sketch to play with for this week’s challenge:

and here’s my card! I rotated the sketch to the right.

Supplies: digital stamp (Some Odd Girl’s “Ice Cream Tia”), typed sentiment, patterned paper (Echo Park Summer Days, ki Memories.) Copic markers, glitter brads, Spellbinders Lacey Circles die, Stampin’ Up! Cardstock, corner rounder.
Thanks for stopping by! This week’s SSSC runs until Friday, June 3 at 10PM Mountain Time.

Unscripted Sketches #108

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketches challenge
I hope you’re enjoying your Memorial Day holiday weekend! Scott & I are planning to go to a major league baseball game this weekend…it’ll be the first one for me, and I’m so excited!
This week’s sketch is a fun one to play with…it offers a lot of possibilities for fun cards and creations!
I rotated the sketch 90 degrees and also rotated the larger rectangle to make another mat/layer for my images. I added a cluster of buttons on top of the triangle and put my sentiment at the bottom.

Other supplies: paper (Memory Box – Brioche), ink (Tsukineko Brilliance in Graphite Black), Copic Markers, adhesive rhinestones, buttons, white gel pen.
The stamps I used are from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps (Sweet Treats Emily and Chef Oliver). Because the images are larger, I normally only use one per card, but they came out so cute, I couldn’t pick one over the other! The sentiment comes in a set with the Chef Oliver stamp.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

CPS #219

This is my 3rd post today…I spent most of the weekend working on cards for different challenges and getting a jump on my DT projects, so I had a lot of cards to photograph, watermark, and blog about! There are still some that I haven’t done blog entries for, because they feature stamps that aren’t released until next month!

Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by to look at my entry for this week’s Card Positioning Systems (CPS) challenge, which is sponsored by Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps! Here’s the sketch (I rotated it 90 degrees for my card):
and here’s my card!

Supplies: paper, dimensional flowers (Basic Grey – Origins collection), Liquid Applique, Stickles, Glossy Accents, Copic markers, ink (Tsukineko Brilliance in Graphite Black), stamp and sentiment (Relaxing Charlotte by Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps), ribbon.
Thanks again for stopping by!
If you’d like to play along in this week’s challenge, visit the CPS blog to get linked up! The challenge runs until Saturday, May 28 at 8pm CST!

Christmas Card Challenges #25

Hi and thanks for stopping by to look at my entry for Christmas Card Challenges #25!

I don’t usually send out a lot of Christmas cards each year (only about 20 or so), but I thought that starting early would also motivate me to get my etsy store running in time for Christmas card shoppers!

This week’s challenge is based on this photo:

I love decorated sugar cookies and have made them on several occasions for my monthly card making group (although they’re never this fancy)! I drew my inspiration from the snowman, and the colors of the treats to create my card:

Supplies: stamp (Rin and Snowman  from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps), typed sentiment, paper (SEI and Pink Paislee), ink (Tsukineko Brilliance in Graphite Black), Copic markers, Liquid Applique, adhesive rhinestones, gold gel pen.
Thanks again for stopping by!
