Some Odd Girl Challenge: Bright and Blinding!

Hi! I can’t believe it’s the end of June already! Where did 1/2 of the year go? It seems like it just flew by!

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card that I’m entering in the latest challenge over at Some Odd Girl — Bright and Blinding! What a perfect challenge to use and combine all the paper that’s just “too bright” to use in other projects!

If my card doesn’t make you want to put on some shades, then I haven’t been successful:

Other supplies: letter stickers (Cosmo Cricket), adhesive gems (Queen & Co), Spellbinders Labels Eight die, paper scraps.
I used SOG’s digi Balloon Kaylee for my card, with some papers from We R Memory Keepers “Peep” mini tablet and Cosmo Cricket’s DeLovely mini tablet. I colored Kaylee with the brightest Copics I have, and layered some bright flowers and secured them with a gem brad.

Christmas Card Challenges #30

Hi! Thanks for stopping by to check out my card for this week’s Christmas Card Challenge (#30)! This week, the challenge is to use die-cuts on your entry:

So, I used a couple of Spellbinders dies (small scalloped circle and circle) for this card, which also features Elf Oliver from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps:
Other supplies: paper (American Crafts Merrymint), Copic markers, sentiment stamps (Lawn Fawn), adhesive gems recolored with Copics, ink (Tsukineko Brilliance in Graphite Black).

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #123

Hi! Thanks for stopping by to look at the card I’m entering for this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (#123)!

I colored this Birthday Josh stamp from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps while we were on vacation a few weeks ago, and thought he’d be great to use with this week’s sketch:

Here’s my card:

Other supplies: paper (My Mind’s Eye Out of the Blue paper pad), sentiment stamp (Stampin’ Up!), Copic Markers, adhesive gems.

Thanks again for stopping by! Don’t forget to visit “the sweetest thing” blog to check out the entries for this week!

colourQ #91

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge (#91)! This week’s color combo is great for any patriotic crafting projects you’ve been thinking about:
Here’s my card for this week! I stamped the star patterns on scraps of paper, added Stickles, then cut out strips to alternate on the background:
Supplies: stamp (We R Memory Keepers), ink (Night of Navy, Real Red – Stampin’ Up!), canvas star accent (Jillibean Soup), gems recolored with Copic markers, sentiment sticker (SRM Stickers).
I only used a little bit of burgundy on my card (it’s what the strips of blue and red fireworks are mounted on) and used silver/gray paper as another mat and to add contrast.
Hope you have a wonderful 4th of July weekend! We’re not planning anything special this year…I’m hoping to get some more crafting done this weekend and also to start purging my unused supplies!
Before you link up your entry for this week’s challenge at the colourQ blog, why don’t you visit the other members of the colourQ Royal Court? You can find their individual blog links to the left under the thumbnail of this week’s challenge colors! Thanks for stopping by!

colourQ #90

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge! This week’s set of colors will get you into the “swim” of crafting! I’m blogging from the road again this week…It’s nice to travel for a while, but I miss my usual crafting time!

I made this card before I left home…I really thought about how I wanted to work in all the colors, and after several attempts that I didn’t like as much, I came up with this…I’m really happy with it:

Other supplies: stamp set (My Mind’s Eye, Stella & Rose collection), sentiment stamp (Technique Tuesday), embossing folder (Sizzix), border punch (Fiskars), patterned paper (My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist collection – Out of the Blue mini pad)

I made the patterned paper by stamping the doilies with Brilliant Blue ink on Bashful Blue-ish cardstock. To work in the white and turquoise, I embossed a strip of cardstock and added border punched strips to the top and bottom. I matted the sentiment on some poppy-ish paper and glued on some pearls to the bottom to balance out the design.

Thanks for stopping by!

Don’t forget to link up your entry at the colourQ blog before Sunday, June 26th at noon CST to be considered for colourQueen!  You can visit the other members of the colourQ Royal Court by using the links under the thumbnail photo of this week’s challenge or by visiting the colourQ blog! See you there!

colourQ #89

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge (#89)! I used this week’s color set to make the Father’s Day card that I sent to my Daddy…I think these colors are perfect for a Father’s Day or other masculine card:

I used the Bravo Burgundy and some Dusty Durango (it was the closest I had to Cajun Craze) as mats for my  tool digis. I drew the tools and made patterned paper out of them because I couldn’t find the specific tools or the size I was looking for.
I drew them in a sketchbook, then scanned them in and re-traced them in Photoshop Elements. The screws are mini screw brads by Tim Holtz.

Other supplies: embossing folder (Sizzix – Tim Holtz and Basic Grey), Copic markers, Glossy Accents, brads, typed sentiment, grey plaid patterned paper (Fancy Pants), digital stamps (drawn by me), cardstock (Stampin’ Up!)
Thanks so much for stopping by! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s colourQ
Be sure to visit the colourQ Royal Court at the colourQ blog for more inspiration and to link up your entry for this week! See you there!
