CCC Week #3 – Doilies

Hello crafty friends! It’s time for a new Christmas Card Challenge, and this week, we’re digging DOILIES!

The only doilies I have on hand are heart-shaped ones, but I do have a doily stamp set, so I used it to accentuate the focal image on my card:
Other supplies: twine (Trendy Twine), watermark ink (VersaMark), clear and white embossing powder, glitter tape (American Crafts), doily stamp (My Mind’s Eye), paper (October Afternoon – blue; My Mind’s Eye – red dot), kraft card stock, snowflake accent – Imaginisce, Copic markers.
Except for the doily stamp, the other stamps I used are from Your Next Stamp (snowflake and snowman stamps – Holiday Snow Globe set; sentiment – Winter Smiles Robin set). The little hat topper was created with Liquid Applique.
All of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on our blog so we can stop by and say hi!

It’s not necessary that you use a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp on your card, but we sure love it when you do!

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the fun and festive cards they’ve created this week: AlannaCorinneJennifer, JovitaKarenKatieLeesaLorie,MargoMichelePatStephanie…and our guest designer Mel. B.!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful week & don’t forget to link your entry on the Christmas Card Challenges blog! See you there!

I’m planning a year in review post for this week…thank you so much for visiting my blog throughout the year…I really do enjoy hearing from you…and I have lots of fun stuff on the horizon for 2013, so stay tuned!

Thanks bunches for stopping by! I hope you have a totally fun Friday and a wonderful weekend! I have a bit of Christmas shopping (and shipping) left to do, and I’m hoping to get that fully knocked out this weekend!

YNS December New Release Blog Hop!

Hi, crafty friends! Welcome to the Your Next Stamp December New Release Blog Hop! You probably arrived here from Peggy‘s blog! In case you get distracted by all of the DT’s fun and fabulous creations, you’ll find the list of all of the blogs in the hop at the bottom of my post!

I’m Suzanne, your hostess for one of the many inspiring projects in today’s hop! I’m so happy you stopped by!

We’re celebrating our December mini release, which features a new stamp collection called “Smiley Happy Critters” by Cory Designs…and a new die collection called YNS Whatnots! ***Warning***…both of these collections are highly addictive, so be sure to start your collection now as we have lots more coming in 2013!

Here’s a peek at both:

“Smiley Happy Critters” features four fun characters (Dot the Ladybug, Lizzie the Lizard, Spike the Frog and Pokey the Turtle), along with three accompanying sentiments to bring extra smiles to your creations!

YNS Whatnots Seasons Set One is jam-packed full of small seasonal dies that are awesome for dressing up your cards and tags! Both sets are available NOW in the Your Next Stamp Store

Our hop runs from today until Saturday, December 15th at midnight EST. We have 3 prize packs hidden among the DT’s blogs, and you must comment on all of the blogs to win! The winners will be posted on the Your Next Stamp Blog on Sunday, December 16th.

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made with the YNS Whatnots dies. I used the gingerbread, heart, large flag and snowflake dies on my card. To make the girl’s dress, I used the outline of a punched gingerbread to draw one on some matching paper! The sentiment is from YNS’s “Winter Smiles Robin” cling set.

And it gets even better! We have a Hop Special going on at the YNS Store! Just enter code YNSDEC2012 to receive 15% off your entire order!

Now it’s time to hop on over to Kerri’s amazing blog, but don’t forget to leave a comment here before you go! Thank you so much for stopping by and happy hopping!

Your Next Stamp December Sneak Peek – Day 1

Hi, and happy Sunday to all of you! I’m pleased to be part of today’s Sneak Peeks at Your Next Stamp! Over the next three days, we’ll be showcasing the new stamp and die sets that are being released this week!

On Wednesday, the whole YNS DT will get together for a blog hop to celebrate this month’s mini release!

My project features a fun set of stamps from the release, “Smiley Happy Critters Set 1.” I made tags with these, but they’d also be great on lunchbox notes, bookmarks, or a card to bring a smile to your special somebody!

The set contains four critter images and three sentiments, “WOW!”, “SMILES for You,” and “Thank you so much!” (I masked the word “Thank” and substituted a heart-shaped brad instead).
The banners are part of the new “Whatnots One” die set, which has lots of fun dies that you’ll use throughout the year!
You can see all of today’s Sneak Peeks at the Your Next Stamp blog!
There will be more previews tomorrow at the YNS blog, and I’ll be back on Wednesday for our Mini-Release Hop! Thanks so much for stopping by!

CCC Week 2 – Die Cuts!

Hi, crafty friends! It’s time for a new Christmas Card Challenge, and this week, we’re featuring festive die cuts of all shapes and sizes!
My card features some peppermints that I die cut with a fun Savvy Stamps die and some Basic Grey Aspen Frost paper.
I wish I would have been able to die cut the jar as well, but of the jar dies I have on hand, none of them were the right size for the image! Instead, I used Staz-On ink to stamp the jar onto a transparency sheet, and then added paper for the lid, some twine and a holly stamped accent.
Other supplies: jar stamp (American Crafts), twine (Trendy Twine), sentiment stamps (various – Paper Smooches, Some Odd Girl), button, jumbo ric rac, card stock (Stampin’ Up – red; kraft & white – PaperTrey Ink), Stickles, Glossy Accents, transparency sheet, ink (StazOn black, Brilliance Graphite Black), Copic markers.

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the fun and festive cards they’ve created this week: AlannaCorinneJennifer,Jovita, KarenKatieLeesaLorie, MargoMichelePat, Stephanieand our guest designer Mel. B.!

Whimsy & Stars Studio Christmas Blog Hop!

Can you feel it? Christmas is in the air! To get ready for the season, we’re having a blog hop to show off all the Christmas and winter-themed images available from Whimsy and Stars Studio and to introduce the new Winter 2013 design team!

I’m one of the new DT members, and I’m super excited to be part of the team…it’s going to be so much fun creating with all these talented ladies, and showing you all the fun things we’ll create with Mabelle R.O.’s latest digi stamps!

If you just arrived from Melissa’s blog, you’re on the right track!  If not, please start at the beginning of the hop at the Whimsy and Stars Studio blog to make sure you don’t miss out on anything!

As you hop along, you’ll want to leave a comment for each member of the design team! After the hop ends on Friday, December 7th at midnight EST, one random winner, to be announced on the Whimsy and Stars Studio blog on December 8th, will be picked from all the comments received to win the Grand Prize of THREE Digi Stamps! (How cool is that?)

I love the decorations and festive nature of the Christmas season…especially all of the creative gifts and packaging ideas! We haven’t put up our tree yet, but we plan to this week!

For my project, I used the image “Felicity“. I also used two special images…details on how to get them can be found below my project photos!

Here’s a close-up of my card:

The two special images featured on my gift bag are FREE gifts with each purchase from the Whimsy and Stars Studio Etsy Store from today until Friday, December 7 at midnight EST! With your order, you’ll get to choose either “Stocking Ted” or “Xmas Tag” as your free gift! Because these are digi stamps, there are so many fun and creative possibilities for either image!

Thank you for hopping with us today!  Your next stop on the hop is the talented Tracy’s blog.
Don’t forget to leave a comment at each stop on the hop to increase your chance of winning the Grand Prize!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs,

Festive and Fun Cards (and a freebie)!

Hi, crafty friends! Just wanted to stop by today to share a couple of winter and holiday cards with you!

My first card features a freebie from the oh-so-adorable Whimsy and Stars Studio! This FREE tree digi made its debut today on the Whimsy and Stars Studio blog and is available for download until Monday, December 1 at 6 p.m. Eastern Time.

Because it’s a whimsical tree, I went with some not-so-traditional colors in my design. I colored the tree with Copics, and accented the berries and stars with Stickles. I also added some Stickles to make the funky turf in the flowerpot!

Other supplies: patterned paper (SEI Berry Melody), sentiment stamp (aMuse Studio), twine (Trendy Twine – Annie’s Paper Boutique), card stock (white, kraft – Papertrey Ink; Pool Party – Stampin’ Up), Copic markers, sewing machine, Stickles (Star Dust, Cotton Candy), Spellbinders Labels 25.
My second card features “Arctic Friends,” a new stamp set I picked up from Lil’ Inker Designs. It was so fun to color up, and I finally got to use some embellishments I’ve had for a while.
You can’t really see it in the picture, but I added Glossy Accents to the ice that the polar bear is sitting on. Some Stickles were added to the ice cream to make them sparkle.

Other supplies: patterned paper (Echo Park – Winter Wishes), chipboard accent (Crate Paper), twine (Trendy Twine – Annie’s Paper Boutique), ink (Tsukineko Brilliance Graphite Black, SU Night of Navy), brads, sewing machine, Spellbinders Labels 25, foam tape.

Well, that’s all for now! I’ll be back on Sunday with a new Christmas Card Challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs,

Christmas Card Challenges Week 52 – Paper Piecing

Happy Sunday, crafty friends! I’m here today to share our last challenge for this term of Christmas Card Challenges. This week’s inspiration is paper piecing! (I paper pieced the bow on the candy cane.)

The image is “Merry Mouse Candy Cane” by Your Next Stamp! It’s colored with Copics, and I added a bit of Liquid Applique to make the pom pom on his hat!

Other supplies: twine (Whisker Graphics), button, patterned paper (My Mind’s Eye “Winter Wonderland“), sentiment stamp (aMuse Studio), card stock (Stampin’ Up).

Although all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on the CCC blog so we can stop by and leave you some lovely comments!

We also don’t require that you use Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps on your cards, but if you have them, we’d love to see you ink them up when you play along!
