CCC #15: Sketch Challenge

Happy Sunday, everybody! Hope you’re having a great weekend! We’ve had some gorgeous weather this weekend…it’s a nice change from the chilly kind we’ve had lately!

Scott & I are meeting some friends of mine for brunch today…I’m so excited! I haven’t seen them in about 10 years, so it is way past time for us to catch up!

For this week’s Christmas Card Challenge, I chose “Autumn Rin” by Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps!

With just a little washi tape, I was able to mask out the leaves in the background and the ones at the bottom of her kimono. The present is from the stack that “Birthday Josh” is holding. I just had to connect the line at the bottom of her kimono, color and cut out the present, and adhere it to the image.

I think the hardest part of masking an image is remembering to take the masking tape off before you stamp the image…I can’t tell you how many times I’ve almost forgotten!

Other supplies: Copic markers, card stock (Stampin’ UP), snowflake accent (Imaginisce), sentiment stamp (Poppy Stamps), patterned paper (Echo Park), VersaMark watermark ink, white embossing powder, foam tape, sewing machine, opaque white marker, gold gel ink pen.

Here’s our challenge sketch!

Remember, all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on our blog so we can stop by and say hi!

It’s not necessary that you use a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp on your card, but we sure love it when you do!

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the fun and festive cards they’ve created this week: AlannaCorinneJennifer, JovitaKarenKatieLeesaLorieMargoMichelePatStephanie…and our guest designer for March, Hazel!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful week, and don’t forget to link your entry on the Christmas Card Challenges blog! See you there!

TGF Double Take Tuesday!

Howdy, friends of The Greeting Farm! I have a new card to share with you today for our new Double Take Tuesday challenge at the TGF blog! This week, we have a sketch to inspire you, and I know you’ll have fun creating with it!

Here is my card, featuring “Awareness Anya“:

I changed a thing or two from the original sketch when I made my card. Instead of putting the sentiment along the side, I moved it in place of the accent flowers. It was too big to fit on a tab, so I used the twine in the place of the tab. Two brads in the lower right corner are accents to balance the card.

and here’s our sketch, created by Showcase DT member Annie Rose:

For all the guidelines on this challenge, and to link up your entry, just visit the TGF blog! We can’t wait to see what you’ll create! Don’t forget, you also have time to enter our Retro-Fresh “Hearts” challenge, and there are a few days left on our Farm Fresh Friday challenge, too!

We’re still on the road, making our way from the West Coast to Virginia, and I can’t wait until we’re settled again! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hugs,

TGF Double Take Tuesday!

A Few Challenge Cards!

Hi, everybody! Just stopping in today to share a few cards that I made for the latest Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge, the Deconstructed Sketch and the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog.
My first card is for Sweet Sunday Sketch #177, and features a super adorable digi by Whimsy & Stars Studio. I printed him a little big, I think, so he got cropped a bit for my card.
Supplies: digital stamp (“Valentine’s Little Boy” –  Whimsy & Stars Studio), patterned paper (“Devoted” mini pad – Carta Bella), sentiment stamp (“Daily Designs” set – PaperTrey Ink), metal die (“Whatnots Seasons Set One” – Your Next Stamp), watermark ink, white embossing powder, white marker, sewing machine, Copic markers.

Here’s the sketch that my card is based on:

All the details for this challenge can be found at “The Sweetest Thing.”

My second card is for Deconstructed Sketch #86. There’s no time limit for submitting a card based on this sketch, so I wanted to make sure that I posted it! You might recognize some of the papers from my first card…I love that paper pad!

This card features another digi stamp from Whimsy & Stars Studio. I am so happy that I design for Mabelle’s company…I love coloring her images!

Supplies: digital stamp (“Valentine Bear” –  Whimsy & Stars Studio), patterned paper (“Devoted” mini pad – Carta Bella; “Dots and Stripes – Homefront” – Echo Park), sentiment stamp (“Daily Designs” set – PaperTrey Ink), metal dies (Spellbinders circles, classic and scalloped hearts), watermark ink, white embossing powder, white marker, sewing machine, Copic markers, Liquid Applique, heat embossing tool, foam tape, Stickles.

Here’s the sketch that my card is based on:

My third card is for the “Trend Watch” challenge at the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog. The inspiration for this challenge is a picture of a polka-dot purse:

So, I made this little “get well” card by paper piecing the pink and green paper onto the stamped image :

Patterned paper (brown polka dot – SEI, Bo Bunny Double Dot – Soft Assortment mini pad), Paper Smooches stamp sets (“Chubby Chums“(cow/bull),  “Chilly Chums” (ice bag/hat),  “Boob Tubes” (thermometer), “Sentiment Sampler” (get well), “Alphadot“; ink (Tsukineko Memento & Brilliance Graphite Black), Copic markers, twine (The Twinery).

All of the details on this challenge are at the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog. The deadline for this challenge is Sunday, February 10th at 10:59pm EST.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed these cards!

Your Next Stamp #25 – Sketch Challenge!

Happy Thursday and Happy Thanksgiving, crafty friends!
Hope you are having a wonderful holiday with your family and friends! It’s a pretty low-key holiday here at the Bier house…just the two of us! Our families live far from us, so we don’t usually travel for Thanksgiving.
Our challenge this week at Your Next Stamp is inspired by a sketch, which I’ve included below the photo of my card. I turned the sketch to the side to create my card. It features “Finnegan,” a newly released YNS stamp set!
My main image is mounted on a wobble spring, so he moves back and forth. I had to do a little trimming on the spring base to hide it behind the image. I also cut a piece of matching background paper to cover the spring’s bottom.
and here’s our fabulous sketch for your inspiration!
So, are you ready to play along with us? Here’s the scoop on our challenges:

  • Every Thursday we post a new YNS Challenge
  • You have the entire month to play along
