Some Odd Girl – August Sketch Challenge!

How’s it going, everybody? Just stopping in between my regularly scheduled posts this week to share my entry for the August sketch challenge at Some Odd Girl!
 
Here’s my card:

Supplies: digital stamps (“Bride Mae“, “1920s Kody” – Some Odd Girl), sentiment stamp (aMuse Studio), designer paper (“5th and Frolic” – Dear Lizzy/American Crafts), sequins, assorted Copic markers, Spellbinders Labels 25, watermark ink, white embossing powder, trim, sewing machine.

My parents are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this month, so I’ll be making another card similar to this one colored up to match them. (And, I’ll post it once I’ve given it to them so I won’t ruin the surprise.)

I am really getting into the sequin craze and the negative die cut space. It seems like a great way to add sparkles without adding bulk to a project.

Getting sketchy for Garden Variety Tuesday!

Hi, everybody! We’re getting sketchy with the newest Garden Variety Tuesday challenge at The Greeting Farm! I picked “Cheeky Lessons” for today’s card:
I added some Glossy Accents on her glasses and the apple and substituted two metallic brads for the buttons on the sketch. The sentiment is from my stash.

Some Odd Girl’s July Sketch Challenge!

Hi, everybody! I’m kicking off this week of posting with my card for Some Odd Girl’s July sketch challenge!
I love SOG’s stamps, but I’ve got a secret crush on their critter stamps! I’ve had this little “Foxy” guy for a while, and when I saw the sketch for this month, I wanted to have some fun with him!
I masked his eyes when I stamped him for two of the images, because I wanted to make a range of expressions, like he was in a photo booth. I drew the extra features on his mouth to give him different poses.
I used a film strip die from my stash to create the borders, and then added squares to look like photos. One image in the Polaroid die frame completes the look!
The sentiment is a sticker that I’ve had in my stash for a while.

Mojo Monday 300!

Hi, everybody! Just a quick post to share the card I made for Mojo Monday’s 300th sketch celebration!
I layered several birthday-themed Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps for my main image…lots of masking and coloring, but I’m so happy with how it came out!
The papers are from an American Crafts 6×6 paper pad that I picked up at Target.
Image stamps: “Birthday Cake Emily“, “Celebrating Chloe“,  “Party Time Oliver” and “Birthday Josh” – Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps; sentiment stamp from “Birthday Sampler” set – Paper Smooches; assorted Copic markers, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, button, Strawberry Cupcake Trendy Twine – Annie’s Paper Boutique, sewing machine.

A new round of challenges at Your Next Stamp!

Happy Friday, everybody! It’s been a fast but crazy week here, and I hope you’re ready for a new Fun Friday challenge at Your Next Stamp!
We’re mixing things up and have re-launched the YNS Challenge blog, and are starting things off with a new type of challenge! 
Each month, we’ll provide a sketch and an inspiration photo. You choose one (or both) on which to base your entry…the challenge will run for the entire month, and different DT members will be sharing how they’re inspired by the challenge each Friday!
I chose both the sketch AND the inspiration photo for my card. I pulled the strawberries, the polka dots, and the colors from the photo, and I’m featuring Darling Diva “Summer” on my card:

Hi again! Just wanted to stop in again this evening to share my card for the current retro sketches challenge (#64)!

I’m featuring “Tropical Mae” from Some Odd Girl on my card:

In other news, I made it to the Top 15 of the “Odd Idol” contest going on at Some Odd World (the ning group for Some Odd Girl Stamps)! 
Voting for Round 3 begins on Friday, May 24, and while I can’t give any hints or clues as to which project is mine, I can guarantee that whichever project you vote for will be fabulous! The competition gets tougher in each round, and all of the contestants are creating some ah-mah-zing projects!

Just a heads-up: there is a short registration process to become part of the SOG ning group, and then you’ll be in!
