TGF Preview: Queen Bean!

Hi, everybody! I am having a crazy awesome time with the newest stamps at The Greeting Farm!

By now, you must know that our April release takes us to Wonderland, and I am pleased to present her royal highness, “Queen Bean,” in my post today!

All of the new stamps will be available in the TGF Store on April 1 (no fooling!), and we’ll be having a DT blog hop to celebrate! Make sure you mark your calendar to join us!

For my first preview card, I couldn’t resist making Queen Bean into a playing card! All it took was an alphabet stamp, a mini heart punch, and a corner rounder to transform her royal cuteness:

Other supplies: patterned paper (“Love Story” – Echo Park), rolled flower die, quilling strips/tool (Quilled Creations), sentiment stamp, assorted Copic markers, opaque white marker, Stickles, cardstock (Stampin’ UP), sewing machine, mini heart punch, letter stamp, gold gel pen.
For my second card, I broke out some vintage paper and paired Queen Bean with one of  TGF’s new “Delicate Words” dies (which will also be available in the TGF Store on April 1):
Other supplies: patterned paper (“Bittersweet” – Basic Grey), metal heart dies (Spellbinders), assorted Copic markers,  button, twine, heart charm (Prima), opaque white marker, gold gel pen, Stickles, foam tape.

Hope you had a great week…it’s been kind of a roller coaster for me…we are trying to close on a new house next week, and it’s been pretty crazy!

OK, now on to our challenge! This week, we’re making easel cards. If you’ve never made an easel card before, Showcase Team Member Annie Rose made this awesome graphic to show you one way to put it all together:

You can make these in really any shape or dimension, but the technique of creating the easel is still the same. Normally, I make square easel cards or horizontal easel cards. I think this is my first “portrait” easel card!

TGF Retro-Fresh Challenge: This One’s For the Boys!

Hi, everybody! It’s time for a new Retro-Fresh challenge at The Greeting Farm!
This month, our Retro-Fresh challenge theme is all about the guys in our lives! My husband, Scott, inspired my card for this challenge!
Scott is very supportive of my crafting. He even helps me when I’m stuck on the design of a card or placement of brads, or can’t decide which color of twine to use!
He also encourages me to buy stamps that are knight, princess, dragon or fairy tale-themed, which are perfect for when I’m making cards to give to him! For those of you who don’t know, he has a full suit of armor and also participates in medieval re-enactment fairs, so he truly is my knight in shining armor!
I thought “Prince Ian” would be a perfect choice for my card!
Other supplies: patterned paper (“Baby Jane” – Cosmo Cricket), Copic markers, twine (“Blue Berry” – Annie’s Paper Boutique/Trendy Twine), silver gel pen, silver glitter brads (American Crafts), sewing machine, Spellbinders Labels 25.
Here’s the scoop on this challenge:
  • Enter a card, scrapbook layout, or 3D project using a TGF Stamp 6 months or older. (For a list of stamps by release, click HERE.)
  • Upload your creation to SCS, your blog, or any online gallery and use the InLinkz tool at the bottom of the Retro-Fresh challenge post on the TGF blog to submit your creation.
  • You have until TUESDAY, April 9th, 2013 at NOON CST to enter, so you have ALL month to play along! One random winner will receive their choice of ONE 4×6 *rubber or clear* stamp set and ONE Single stamp... how SWEET is that?!
Thanks so much to all of our friends who play along with our challenges each week! We love seeing what you create! And thank YOU for stopping by today! I’ll be back tomorrow with another post and on Friday for a new TGF Farm Fresh Friday challenge!
Hugs,
