Stacey’s Stamping Stage: Curtain Call #68

I’m finally getting back in the habit of playing along with weekly challenges, and I’m happy to play along with this week’s Curtain Call Challenge over at Stacey’s Stamping Stage!

I’m primarily a cardmaker, but I decided to try something different when I saw this week’s set of challenge colors:

I made a tag with leftover backing that I had from some flowers. It was already die-cut/scalloped on the edges, but I added circle punches on each scallop to give it a lacy look.

Supplies: cardboard/backing (Prima), cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), lantern stamp (Paper Source), sentiment stamp (Lawn Fawn), markers (Copic), ink (Tsukineko), ribbon, Crop-a-Dile, tiny heart punch, nested dies, baker’s twine.
First, I used my Crop-a-Dile’s different hole punches to customize the scallops. Then, I stamped each lantern on matching cardstock, and used Copics to add shading on each. I used a heart punch on each lantern, flipped the punched piece over, and adhered it to the opposite color lantern in the spot where I punched.
As a guide, I also stamped lanterns on the white die-cut piece of cardstock, then layered the colored lanterns on top. I pierced holes to thread the twine, and drew the grass by hand.
After adhering the white cardstock to the base, I added the ribbon on the top, bottom and another piece of coordinating sheer ribbon as the tie at the top of the tag. Then, I stamped the sentiment on cardstock, die cut the two sizes of scalloped circles, layered them, and adhered them to the card with foam squares.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my project!
There’s tons of inspiring ideas for this week’s challenge over at Stacey’s Stamping Stage!
