Some Odd Girl Digi Stamps – "Let’s Get Embossed"

I recently discovered Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps while looking through groups on Paper Craft Planet. I’ve always been more of a “fun and cute” papercrafter, and these digis seem to fit my style!

I couldn’t resist playing along with the latest challenge on the Some Odd Girl blog, which is to incorporate embossing (either dry or heat) in your entry! I’ve been in a retro mood lately, and was most inspired by 80’s Kaylee  and one of the design examples for her image to make this card:

Other supplies: cardstock (Bazzill, Stampin’ Up!), markers (Copic), letter stamps (Lawn Fawn), glitter gel pen (Sakura).
Although I can’t say I ever wore leg warmers in the 80’s, I loved the bright colors! I liked the squares of different colored paper on the example, so I took that a step further to make it the card background.
I cut squares of different shades of cardstock and ran them through the Big Shot, then mounted them on black cardstock. I also like the Rubik’s Cube effect that it makes! I added some punched stars that I colored with a glitter gel pen as accents to finish the card, which is the same pen that I used to color the star earrings.
The sentiment was assembled with a set of letter stamps, and I consulted my California-born husband to make sure I got the “Valley-Girl” wording right!
Thanks for stopping by! There’s still time to play along in this challenge, which runs until January 26! You can get all the details at the Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps blog!
