Some Odd Girl Digi Stamps – Handmade Elements Challenge!

The latest challenge over at Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps is to create a handmade element for your entry, so I made cute sunflowers to go along with the digi I chose for my card!

The digi is “Sunflowers” from Some Odd Girl (of course!). I typed and printed the sentiment and colored the digi with Copics. I covered brads with fabric and used them as the center for the flowers, which I made from punched shapes. The papers are from Basic Grey and My Mind’s Eye.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!

CPS #207

Another great sketch this week over at Card Positioning Systems (CPS)…this week’s sponsor is Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps!

Here’s my card! I thought the sketch was perfect for this Hero Arts stamp set…my husband picked it out when he came with me on my last paper shopping trip! I’m so grateful that I have a husband who supports my hobby/obsession!

The images are colored with Copics. I accented the sentiment with a glitter gel pen and Glossy Accents. The border punch is from Martha Stewart Crafts and the paper is from Dream Street Papers.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

It’s March already! I was really hoping we’d have nicer weather by now, but it doesn’t seem like it will be for quite a while here…the forecast is calling for more snow. I can’t wait for spring to get here!

For this week’s colourQ challenge, we’ve got a great set of colors for you!

Here’s my take, featuring a cute squirrel stamp from The Greeting Farm and some papers from My Mind’s Eye:

The sentiment is from SRM Stickers, and I colored the squirrels with Copics.

Unscripted Sketches #95

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch!

I hope the weather’s been nice where you are…it’s snowed a lot here over the past few days. Whichever groundhog predicted spring was on the way needs to be fired! It certainly hasn’t been the case here in Washington…LOL!

Anyway, here’s the Unscripted Sketch for this week:

And here’s my card!

The images of the balloon and clouds were digitally drawn by me…I’ve been working on creating images for stamps that I want to use but don’t have yet! Once I get the hang of the whole e-tail thing, I’d like to offer my digis for sale! (I colored the balloon with Copics and added Stickles to the heart.)
The sentiment on the card is from Lawn Fawn Stamps, and the paper is from My Mind’s Eye.

CPS #206

My entry for Card Positioning Systems Sketch #206 features Chef Oliver, one of the many adorable stamps from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, which also happens to be this week’s sponsor!

Here’s the challenge sketch:

And here’s my card! I rotated the sketch 90 degrees and added the sentiment and button group to balance out my design.

The paper is some KI Memories paper that I didn’t realize I still had scraps of! I colored Oliver with my Copics, and the sentiment is also from Sparkle Creations.

colourQ #73

Hi! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend, especially if it was a holiday weekend for you!

We’ve been pretty lucky this weekend to have beautiful weather and sunshine…a nice chance from the gloominess and rain that we’ve been having for what seems like forever!

I had fun with this week’s set of challenge colors for colourQ #73! It’s amazing to look back on a finished card and realize it’s not what you expected when you first came up with the idea…it’s even better!

I had an idea for a more fun and cute way to use these colors, but I decided to go with something more elegant, and I’m happy with how it came out!

Here are the colors for this week:

And here’s my card! This one is for some friends of ours who are getting married next month, and the theme of the wedding includes peacock feathers.

Other supplies: ink (Brilliant Blue – Stampin’ Up!, Graphite Black – Tsukineko), cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), die-cut circle (Spellbinders), glitter brads.
I used the feather stamp to create the background, and masked a retired peacock stamp from Stampin’ Up! for the main image. I colored the hearts with a Rich Razzleberry marker and added Glossy Accents to each. The sentiment is from SU’s Occasional Quotes set, and the embossing folder is also an SU exclusive.
Hope you’ve been inspired to do something fun with this week’s set of challenge colors!

Unscripted Sketches #94

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch!

This week’s sketch also features an optional piggyback challenge, which is to use fabric on your project…and your project doesn’t have to be a card. As long as the Unscripted Sketch is the inspiration for your project, your creative energies can run wild!

Here’s this week’s sketch…

and here’s my card! I used some fabric scraps on the largest flower, and used matching paper flowers as the base.

The papers are from Pink Paislee’s Queen Bee collection, and the bee stamp is from Viva Las Vegas Stamps. My husband suggested the sentiment for the card, which I typed and printed in Word.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! We actually have some beautiful weather today, so I’m looking forward to enjoying it!

colourQ #72

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge! This week’s colors are so much fun…perfect for getting your mojo working on some non-Valentine’s Day cards!
For my card, I decided to use a cute little whale stamp, since the colors seem ocean/sea related to me!

I colored the whale with Copics, and added some ric rac waves as a little something different. I used mini letter stickers from Cosmo Cricket for the sentiment, embossed the card front, and added a few brads and jeweled hearts to complete the card.
Thanks for stopping by! The always fabulous colourQ Royal Court have made some phenomenal layouts and cards for you to check out! You can visit their blogs at the left under the thumbnail of this week’s challenge colors!

Unscripted Sketches #93

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch!
With this week’s sketch, it’s definitely easy to make a “love”-ly project!
I combined papers from My Mind’s Eye, some SRM stickers, and this cute little Hippie Anya from The Greeting Farm to make my card:

Instead of doing the curved sections, I did three sections straight across. I also moved the sentiment to replace one of the circle elements in the sketch instead of putting it at the top…it seemed to work better with what I had. I used Copics to color Hippie Anya and glued a gem to the center of the flower in her hair.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you’ll have fun playing along with us this week! Today I’m hanging out with my monthly stamp group, and I’m definitely looking forward to lots of inky fun!

Stampin’ Celebration Challenge #39

The super-talented team over at Stampin’ Celebration have put together some yummy inspiration for their challenge this week:

Here’s my card, which features some of my first digital stamps!

I drew each of the chocolate candies on my computer, printed, colored, cut them out and adhered them to the center of a die-cut heart. The sentiment is a combination of a rubber stamp by AMuse and some Word Art that I printed and colored.
The papers are from Bo Bunny’s Crazy love collection.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
