Getting sketchy with The Greeting Farm for GVT!

Happy Tuesday, everybody! Is it feeling like autumn where you are? I’m loving the cooler temperatures we’ve had this weekend and so far this week!

Fall is my favorite time of the year, especially the cooler weather and colors as the leaves change. So, it wouldn’t be a surprise if I told you that I’ve been hooked on creating with fall themed paper and colors, right?

For this week’s Garden Variety Tuesday at The Greeting Farm, we have a sketch as our theme!

I chose “Gracie,” one of the Wild Sprouts released a few months ago, and the sentiment from this month’s new release “Frou Frou Fabulous” for today’s card. The papers are from the “Persimmon” mini pad by Basic Grey, which coordinated well with embellishments I have from one of their past fall collections.

And here’s the sketch, designed by my very talented TGF DT buddy, Annie Rose:

For my card today, I chose Ian from the “Picture Perfect” set. My three squares were created with parts of “Anya Treats” and “Anya Strolls“. I thought it would be fun to show what subjects Ian has been snapping!

It’s a Texture-iffic Garden Variety Tuesday challenge at TGF!

Hello everybody and happy Tuesday!
How are things where you are? My parents came to visit over the Labor Day holiday last weekend, and I think I’ve finally rested enough! I’m so glad we got to spend the long weekend with them, but all that sightseeing and fun wore me out! LOL!
I’m glad to be going back to my regular schedule this week, because having the holiday threw me off! I was so mixed up on what day of the week it was!
And, because it’s Tuesday, that means it’s time for a new challenge at The Greeting Farm! We’d like to see how you add texture to your entry! I’m featuring “Frou Frou Fabulous” today, and I added some Liquid Applique to the trim of her dress and her headband for texture on my card. Applying heat to the Liquid Applique made it puff up.
Ready to join in the fun? Here’s the info you need to know:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded via the InLinkz tool on the TGF blog at the bottom of the post no later than Monday, September 16 at NOON CST. You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria. (If the InLinkz tool is missing, feel free to link your submission URL in a comment.)
  • The fabulous prize: A random participant will be selected to win a digital image of choice from the TGF store.
  • But, WAIT! Each week, our friends have the opportunity to DOUBLE that prize to either two digis or, you can trade those two digis for a SINGLE rubber stamp of choice, as long as we have 20 or more players each week, so encourage all your friends and family to play along!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you’re having a wonderful week so far!

SCRS Challenge: Double Embossing

Hi, everybody! There’s a new challenge at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps…and it’s all about double embossing!
I double embossed a strip of black cardstock to create the houndstooth accent on my card, which features “Backpack Oliver“:

Here’s how I double embossed the cardstock:

  1. I rubbed an anti-static pouch over the cardstock strip.
  2. I inked one side of an embossing folder with watermark ink. (Using a brayer makes this step much easier, because you get more even coverage of the ink on the folder.)
  3. I embossed the cardstock strip by placing it in the embossing folder and running it through my Big Shot machine.
  4. I removed the strip from the embossing folder and sprinkled embossing powder on the inked and embossed cardstock, then shook off the excess.
  5. I heat embossed the cardstock.
For all of the guidelines on this challenge, and to link up your entry, visit the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps blog
Our challenges run for two weeks, so you have until Sunday, September 22 at 9PM Pacific Time to enter this challenge! Don’t forget, to qualify for the prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp on your entry!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hugs,
