March Kit at Sharin’ Memories

This is the kit I created for Sharin’ Memories this month. It uses Cosmo Cricket’s “Garden Variety” papers and chipboard embellishments. I also added a Jenni Bowlin journaling card. Each kit will get a random journaling card, random chipboard embellishments and flower combination. The border strip is pre-punched to thread the ribbon, which is also included.

Monthly Kit Update

Today I finished my third monthly kit for Sharin’ Memories…My February kit sold out! This month’s kit uses papers from Cosmo Cricket’s “Garden Variety” line. I’ll post a picture of it tomorrow!

Bo Bunny’s Card Challenge Tuesday!

This is a card that I made for the latest “Card Challenge Tuesday” on the Bo Bunny blog. The challenge was to work with aqua, pink and red in the card’s design.

I used papers from Bo Bunny’s Love Bandit, Double Dot in Poppy and a rub-on from the Persuasion collection. The square comes from the Alissa cut-out page, as well as the “I love you!” sentiment at the bottom. I glued a circle of paper to the back of a clear button and threaded it for an accent. I used a border punch to accent the strip on the left side.

It was a fun challenge! Looking forward to the next one!

February Projects

Here are a few things I’ve been working on…

These are examples of some tags that I made for the Kids’ Valentine Workshop at Sharin’ Memories.

They are basically large manila tags, covered in patterned paper. I border punched some strips for the bottoms, and threaded a ribbon through the top.
This is a treat box I made for this Saturday’s Valentine Crop at Sharin’ Memories. I found the “box in a bag” tutorial at Split Coast Stampers, but made a few changes to simplify the assembly process.
I reduced the dimensions of the container, and punched holes at the top to thread ribbon through instead of making separate tabs to attach to the top. I also rubber stamped the decoration on the front of the bag, stickled the heart separately and attached it to the main stamped image with a foam square.

CKC – Portland Recap

This week’s CKC convention in Portland was awesome! I helped Carole & Jodie of Sharin’ Memories with their Exploding Box class at the convention. Over 90 ladies took the class, which was taught once on Friday and again on Saturday.

I took a few classes, one by Paper Crafts (Birthday Extravaganza), which was excellent. We created a one-page layout, card and tag out of the same small group of supplies.

I also took Piggy Tales’s class to make an Asian-themed mini album. We were able to finish the album in the one-hour class. The only part left is to add pictures!

The Technique Tuesday class that I took was very fast paced, which is OK, but we didn’t complete any of the five cards in class. However, I did learn some new techniques for making chipboard buttons and ways to customize ribbon and new ways to stretch out acrylic stamp sets.

I won a door prize in each of the classes…too funny! One was a set of chipboard letters, another was a set of stickers to use in card making. I also won a $20 acrylic stamp set!

The Seattle CKC isn’t until November, which gives me plenty of time to recover and to use all of the cool stuff I bought this weekend!

Second Monthly Kit!

This is my second monthly kit for Sharin’ Memories featuring Basic Grey’s “Origins” line. At last count, there were only two left in stock!

For March, I’ll be working on a kit with either Basic Grey’s “Kioshi” or “Green at Heart.”

More projects coming up!

I’m working on a layout/kits for Sharin’ Memories using Basic Grey’s “Nook & Pantry” line. Also, I’ll be doing a valentine/love themed picture frame…photos to follow!
