A few challenge cards!

Hi, crafty friends! Just stopping by to share a few sketch challenge cards I’ve made!
My first card uses the sketch from last week’s challenge on The Greeting Farm’s Splitcoast forum:

My second card is for Deconstructed Sketch #71:

Supplies: image and sentiment stamp (Your Next Stamp – “Apple Cutie”), glitter stripe and brown patterned paper (SEI – “Mirelle” 6×6 pad),  wood button (Basic Grey), twine (Trendy Twine), orange grid paper (American Crafts – “Pumpkin Patch), kraft card stock.

My third card is for the current Wednesday Stamp Club sketch at My Favorite Things’ Splitcoast forum:

Supplies: stamps (My Favorite Things – “Snow Adorable”),  patterned paper (Basic Grey Jovial), twine (Whisker Graphics), Copic markers, kraft card stock, Fiskars decorative scissors, Brilliance Graphite Black ink.

Don’t forget, you still have time to play along with a few challenges: a new Christmas Card Challenge (chipboard inspired), the “Confessions of a Shopaholic” challenge at Drunken Stampers (use images of a purse or shoes on your card), and we’ll have a brand new month of challenges at Your Next Stamp starting Thursday…until then, there’s still time to play along with our current sketch challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #37 – Texture

Happy Sunday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

I spent all day Saturday crafting with some of my friends at my monthly craft group!

For this week’s Christmas Card Challenge, we’d like for you to use texture on your card!

My card doesn’t have a ton of texture, but I’d say that the embossed snow background, the jute twine and the felt snowflakes would count, right?

My main image is the super cute Ellie Loves to Ski by Your Next Stamp! The sentiment is from A Muse Studio (Mini Holiday Messages set).

Although all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on the CCC blog so we can stop by and leave you some lovely comments!

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the fun and festive cards they’ve created this week: AlannaBrigitteCandace,CorinneDeeKatieLeesaMargoMichelePat, and Stephanie!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful week and don’t forget to link your entry on the Christmas Card Challenges blog! See you there!

Your Next Stamp Challenge #10: Books!

Happy Thursday! I hope you had fun checking out all the blogs in the Your Next Stamp 3rd Birthday blog hop! If you didn’t get the chance to join the hop, click HERE for my post, which includes a list of all the blogs!

This week’s challenge at Your Next Stamp is inspired by BOOKS!

So, I made a corner bookmark featuring Shirley Temple Ellie:

It’s not hard to make these from envelope corners. Here’s how:

  • First, you cut the envelope corner at a 45 degree angle. You can get two bookmarks from one envelope, and the size of the bookmark doesn’t matter…that’s up to you!
  • Then, I cut two triangles of patterned paper slightly smaller than the envelope corners. (I used Echo Park’s Happy Together for my bookmark.) I sewed on the patterned paper before sticking it down, but you don’t have to do that!
  • I stamped and colored my main image, ran it through my manual die cut machine, and adhered it to a decorative die cut circle, then adhered that to the front of the bookmark!
  • To help the bookmark stay on the page, I used very strong adhesive to glue a tiny magnet near the outside bottom center of the back of the envelope corner. (That way, the magnet doesn’t get in the way of the book pages.) After it dried, I adhered a triangle of patterned paper on top to hide it.
  • Instead of using a second magnet in the front, I added a metal brad between the patterned paper and the envelope corner so the brad’s prongs are hidden under the paper and aren’t on the inside of the bookmark.

Don’t forget, we’ve had a few changes to our challenge guidelines, making it easier for everyone to play along and to have the chance to be a YNS Rockin’ Guest Designer!
