YNS August New Release Blog Hop!

Hi and welcome to Your Next Stamp‘s August New Release Blog Hop!!!  Because August marks YNS’s 4th birthday, we’re celebrating all month long with store specials and a second release!

If you’d like to hop along with us, you can start on Maureen’s blog.  If you’ve been hopping along, then you should have arrived from Kerry’s blog. (You can find the entire list of hop participants at the bottom of my post.)

I have three projects to share with you today! My first project is a card featuring “Birthday Princess.” The sentiment is from the “Magical Birthday” set, and I’ll have a card to show you with that set during our After Party posts on Saturday!

My second card features “Cleo,” one of three new Macy Wong animal stamps being released this month!
(The sentiment is from my collection; it doesn’t come with the stamp.)

My third project is a gift card holder that I made with the new “Pocket Die.” I created the sentiments with the Skinny Font Alpha set.

Make sure you comment on ALL of the blogs in today’s hop (including this one), because FOUR random winners will receive a $10 YNS gift certificate! (You must leave a comment on each blog in the hop to qualify for the prize.)

Of course, Karen is also offering some fabulous Hop Specials at the YNS Store!  All orders over $25.00 will receive a FREE YNS Birthday Stamp set!

Now it’s time to hop on over to Laura’s amazing blog, but don’t forget to leave a comment here before you go!

Our hop ends on August 24th at midnight Eastern time, so make sure you leave your comments before the hop ends! Karen will post the prize winners on the YNS blog on August 25th!

Hi again! A new month means a new set of Fun Friday festivities at Your Next Stamp!
Here’s my card for today…I’ll be sharing a tutorial related to this card on July 17th at the YNS Blog!
I used the “Howdy Farmer” set (which was just released in June) for my card today:
Our challenges have changed a bit, so here’s the scoop! Starting last month, we’ve moved our challenge day to Friday, and are giving you more time to play along and with a more flexible theme!

We are hosting one challenge each month, and you can play along as many times as you like. We’ll provide an inspiration photo and a sketch. You can use one or the other for your entry, or both!

Here’s our sketch and photo for July:

TGF Farm Fresh Friday: Recycle or Alter Something!

Happy Friday, everybody! I’m stopping by today with my card for the new Farm Fresh Friday challenge at The Greeting Farm!
The DT has been having a WONDERful time this month sharing our creations with the Limited Edition Alice in Wonderland Beans!
This week’s challenge is to recycle or alter something. I added glitter to the brad on “Alice Bean”‘s bow, but that’s not all. The flower that is on my card is made from…coffee filters!
We received a Keurig coffee maker for Christmas, and have almost a full package of the classic paper coffee filters. I wanted to experiment with them and see if I could make a flower for my card…and I love the result! I hope you do, too!
Supplies: image stamp (Alice Bean” – The Greeting Farm), sentiment (Delicate Words” die – The Greeting Farm), patterned papers (“Halloween in Wonderland” – Graphic 45, letter print – Prima), sewing machine, black ink, coffee filters, assorted Copic markers, blending solution, twine (“Midnight” Trendy Twine – Annie’s Paper Boutique), foam tape.
If you’re interested in a tutorial for making these, let me know in the “comments” section. If I get enough positive feedback, I’ll work something up!

My technique involves a rolled flower die, several paper coffee filters, Copic markers and blending solution.

The papers on my card are from a retired Graphic 45 collection, “Halloween in Wonderland.” I’ve saved the papers for quite some time, never thinking that I would make an Alice in Wonderland-themed card…but I wanted to squeeze in one this month using the papers!
PLEASE visit the TGF blog today to see all of the MARVELOUS projects that the DT created for this challenge…you will be blown away!
Here are the details for playing along with this challenge:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz at the bottom of the challenge post on the TGF blog no later than Thursday, April 25th at NOON CST.
  • You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria. (If the InLinkz tool is missing, feel free to link your submission URL in the comment section!)
  • The fabulous prize: A random participant will be selected to win their choice of an in-stock SINGLE RUBBER STAMP or a 4×6 set!
Don’t forget, there’s still time to enter our Double Take Tuesday challenge (sketch) and our Retro-Fresh challenge (polka dots and/or plaid)! Check out each challenge post for all the details!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Christmas Card Challenges: Reindeer!

WOW! Yesterday it actually felt like Spring…and I went outside in a short sleeve shirt and left my jacket in the car! So happy that temperatures are warming up a bit, but today I’ve got Christmas on my mind…well, just for this post!

This week’s Christmas Card Challenge is to incorporate reindeer on your card, so here’s what I came up with:

Supplies: patterned paper (“North Pole” mini pad – Doodlebug Designs), image stamps (“Fleas Navidad” – Paper Smooches), metal frame die (“Insta Love Polaroid Die Set” – Your Next Stamp), sentiment stamp, snowdrift dies (PaperTrey Ink), twine (Trendy Twine), button, assorted Copic markers, watermark ink, white embossing powder, brown ink (Espresso Truffle – Tsukineko Memento), silver pigment ink, white marker, sewing machine.
I’m so happy that I could take my latest batch of card pictures outside…although maybe this one would have been a little more appropriate last week, when we had snow!

Don’t forget, all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on our blog so we can stop by and say hi!

It’s not necessary that you use a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp on your card, but we sure love it when you do!

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the fun and festive cards they’ve created this week: AlannaCorinneJennifer, JovitaKarenKatieLeesaLorieMargoMichelePat…and our guest designer for March, Hazel!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful week, and don’t forget to link your entry on the Christmas Card Challenges blog! See you there!

Paper Smooches SPARKS: Anything Goes!

Hi, crafty friends! Today, I’m sharing the card I made for this week’s “anything goes” challenge at the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog.

I often come up with some of my silliest and most creative ideas late at night. Tonight I was coloring some images and remembered there was still time to link up for this challenge, and suddenly, it hit me…I needed to make a “hipster walrus” card!

So, I combined images from the “Chilly Chums” and “Warm Hearts” sets, with the mustache from the “Hot Concoctions” set thrown in for good measure.

And the result is the hippest walrus around, complete with knit beanie cap, shades (I just colored his eyes in with a black marker and drew a line between them to create the glasses), bow tie, gourmet coffee and of course, a mustache:

Christmas Card Challenges #6 – Rip, Sand, Tear

Welcome back, crafty friends! Today brings a new Christmas Card Challenge! This week, we’re challenging you to distress something on your card (rip, sand or tear).

I distressed the edges of my main embossed image. I originally wanted to tear the red patterned paper, but it was a bit too much, so I stuck with a simple touch of the technique instead.

Supplies: watermark ink (VersaMark), gold and white opaque embossing powder (JudiKins), seam binding ribbon (Stampin’ UP!), houndstooth paper (SEI), gold glitter brads (American Crafts), image and sentiment stamps (Gourmet Rubber Stamps), patterned paper (Echo Park – Very Merry Christmas).
All of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on our blog so we can stop by and say hi!

It’s not necessary that you use a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp on your card, but we sure love it when you do!

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the fun and festive cards they’ve created this week: AlannaCorinneJennifer, JovitaKarenKatieLeesaLorie,MargoMichelePatStephanie…and our guest designer Rachel!
