Here’s my entry, featuring “Cowboy Josh” by Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, and a typed sentiment by me:

Seize the Birthday #11

Hi, everybody! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!
I’ve been trying to get a jump on my Design Team assignments for the upcoming week, but I couldn’t resist playing along with this week’s Seize the Birthday challenge!
I’m so happy that I got to guest design last week for the masculine challenge! Thanks so much to Lesley and the fabulous ladies on the DT for making me feel welcome! (You can check out my card for the last challenge HERE.)

If you haven’t had a chance to play along with Seize the Birthday, you should! You get to increase your stash of birthday cards for guys and gals, and you’ll have fun, too!

This week’s sketch is for a feminine card, so I paired some soft papers from My Mind’s Eye with this cute little monkey from C.C. Designs, and made:
Supplies: patterned paper (“Nostalgia” mini pad – My Mind’s Eye), image stamp (“Birthday Monkey” – C.C. Designs), sentiment stamp (“Fun Foodies Set” – Your Next Stamp), Copic markers, corner rounder, button, foam tape, kraft cardstock, twine (“Tickled with Teal” – Trendy Twine/Annie’s Paper Boutique), ink (“Espresso Truffle”, “Tuxedo Black” – Memento/Tsukineko.
Here’s the sketch for this challenge:

You’ll find all the details to link up your entry for this challenge at Seize the Birthday, along with the DT’s fabulous creations!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I’m a party guest at "Seize the Birthday"!!

Hi, everybody! I’m pleased as punch to let you know that I’m guest designing this week at Seize the Birthday!

You’ve probably noticed my cards for their challenges, since I’ve been playing along with them for several weeks and was so thrilled when Lesley asked me to guest for this week’s sketch…of course, I said YES!

If you’ve never played along with “Seize the Birthday” before, here’s the scoop:

  • Seize the Birthday is a weekly challenge blog that helps you get birthday cards done for both him AND her! Every month, there are two sketches for you to try, but with a twist!
  • Each sketch is used twice…on the first week, the challenge is to use the sketch to make a feminine birthday card. During the second week, the same sketch is used, but for a masculine birthday card!
  • You can make a birthday card, invitation, tag, gift bag, or whatever else you might need for that special someone’s upcoming birthday!

So, this week, we’re making a masculine card, and here’s what I made:

Supplies: patterned paper (“Endless/Fair Weather” mini pad – Authentique), image stamp (“Tobie and his Puppy” – Some Odd Girl), sentiment stamp (“Sentiment Sampler” – Paper Smooches), Copic markers, ink (Brilliance Graphite Black, Memento Espresso Truffle).
and here’s the sketch:
For the complete set of rules and guidelines for this challenge, to check out what the fabulously talented Design Team have created this week, and to link your entry, just visit Seize the Birthday! The deadline for this challenge is Tuesday, March 19 at noon Pacific Time.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Seize the Birthday #7

Hi, everybody! Just stopping in today to share my card for the current Seize the Birthday challenge! This week’s card is for the girls! I chose The Greeting Farm’s “Anya Lifts” for today’s card:
I love coloring the balloons! I added Glossy Accents to the balloons after I colored them to make them stand out a little more. The papers I used are from Lawn Fawn’s first mini pad (which may be retired, since I couldn’t find it on their site to link for you).
Here’s the sketch for this challenge, which will also be the sketch for challenge #8, but for a masculine card. I’ll share that card with you later this week!
In related “happy news”…both of my cards for the last Seize the Birthday challenges were picked for “Birthday Honours”!

You can see them at their original posts HERE and HERE!

Things are going fine with our move so far. We are staying with a friend until our house is ready, so it’s nice that the road tripping is done for now…in about a month or so, we’ll be in the new house, and I’ll finally be able to settle in and start fixing up my craft room!
Thanks for all the happy wishes as we’ve made what we hope is our final cross-country move. It was a wild week of long days, bad weather, but we made it to the Washington, D.C. area and have started to figure out where things are. We’ll be moving to northern Virginia once our house is ready…I am beyond excited!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Seize the Birthday #6 – Masculine

Howdy, everybody! I’m blogging from the road today as we’re starting our road trip for (what I hope is our final) cross-country move. Before I get to my card post, I just wanted to update you on things happening in my personal life.

After close to 9 years of being an Army Wife and moving from Louisiana (where I’m from) to northern New York to Georgia to Washington and now to northern Virginia, I’m SO ready to settle in and finally have a crafty space all to myself! Scott recently departed the Army after 16 years of service, and we’re relocating so he can start his civilian job.

The hardest part of every move has been that I’ve had to say goodbye to friends I’ve made. It’s especially hard this time, because I got to know so many super-cool and creative ladies while I’ve been here. It’s not so much a goodbye this time as it is a “see you later”…but that doesn’t make it any easier!

Anyway, *sniff* on to my post for today…the masculine half of the sketch over at “Seize the Birthday“!

Here’s my card! I used one of my favorite guy images, “Turntable Josh” by Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps:

Other supplies: patterned paper (orange houndstooth – My Mind’s Eye “Fly a Kite” mini pad; polka dot and solid papers – Authentique “Endless/Fair Weather” mini pad.) sentiment stamps (Paper Smooches – “Sentiment Sampler” and “Word Salad“), Copic markers, twine (“Twisted Teal” – Trendy Twine), watermark ink, white embossing powder, Brilliance Graphite Black ink, Spellbinders circle die.

And here’s the sketch:

My card for last week’s “Seize the Birthday” was one of the cards picked to receive “Birthday Honours”!
It’s the same sketch as the one featured this week, but with a feminine touch:
This challenge runs until Tuesday, February 19th at noon Pacific Time. You can find all of the details at the “Seize the Birthday” blog!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you haven’t hopped along with The Greeting Farm yet, make sure to stop by each blog and leave comments….you could win all four new stamp and die sets!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a new Christmas Card Challenge! See you then!
