Hip Hop Hooray! Some Odd Girl’s April Release – 2nd Day!

Hi, everybody! Welcome to the second day of the April clear stamp release at Some Odd Girl! Today’s projects will have you shouting “HIP HOP HOORAY”, which also happens to be the name of this adorable set!
Since I couldn’t choose between the set’s two bunnies for my project, I made a tag with each of them! The carrot is a separate stamp from the set, and I masked it onto each bunny. Aren’t they cute? I love how soft and spring-y they are!
Some Odd Girl supplies: image and sentiment stamps: “Hip Hop Hooray” clear stamp set. Other supplies: patterned paper: “Fresh Cut” 6×6 pad – Basic Grey; buttons, border strips and product packaging: SEI. coloring medium: Copic markers; foam squares, twine; pearl accents: Prima, ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Teal Zeal – Tsukineko.
Not only are there new clear stamps in the Some Odd Girl Store, two new digital stamps are making their debut today! Check out “Bug Catcher Tobie” and his jar of (organically awesome) fireflies:

It’s Digi Release Day at Some Odd Girl!

Hi, everybody! Hope your week is off to a good start! I’ve been doing a lot of coloring, and am trying to work on shading and light sources. Even though I’ve been through both of the Copic certification classes, there’s still so much to learn!
Images like the “Grands” digis at Some Odd Girl are great for practicing shading techniques. For today’s card, I worked on creating more dimension in the face and the clothing. The main image, “Grandpa Feeds the Ducks“, is one of two new digis in the Some Odd Girl store:
Because the paper was so bright and kind of busy, I went with a softer mat panel under the main images. I didn’t want to make it plain white because of the ducks, so I chose a light blue woodgrain pattern from my stash. I also made a custom accent by stamping a sentiment from the “Make A Statement” clear set on a piece of adhesive cork.
Did you have a chance to stop by the Some Odd Girl blog yesterday to check out my inspiration post? I made a felt coffee sleeve, stamped a few images from my Some Odd Girl clear stamps onto pieces of felt, then stitched them to decorate the sleeve!
Here’s a look at the front of the sleeve:
Before I sign off for today, make sure that you sign up for the Some Odd Girl newsletter if you haven’t already! You don’t want to miss any of the ODD news, sales and exclusives!

TGF FFF: For the Boys!

HAPPY FRIDAY, everybody! I’m back with a new challenge for your Farm Fresh Friday, and this one’s for the BOYS! That’s right, we’re making masculine cards this week! I couldn’t pass up the chance to color up new digi cutie “Beanie Ian” for today’s card!

The sentiment I used is from TGF’s “I Heart Sweaters” set. I just masked off the word “heart” and added a heart-shaped gem in its place. I also added some Liquid Applique’ and puffed it up with a heat tool to create the marshmallows in his mug and make pom poms on his hat.

Here’s the scoop on playing along with us for this challenge:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz no later than Thursday, October 17 at NOON CST
  • You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria. (If the InLinkz tool is missing, feel free to link your submission URL in the comment section!)
  • The fabulous prize: A random participant will be selected to win their choice of an in-stock SINGLE RUBBER STAMP or a 4×6 set!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

TGF FFF: Paper Piecing!

Happy Friday, everybody! Is it just me, or has this been a LONG week? It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve blogged!
It’s time for a new Farm Fresh Friday challenge at The Greeting Farm, of course, and this week’s theme is paper piecing! I’ll admit, I don’t paper piece as much these days because I love to color, but I still made the pieces look like they were colored with some shading. Here’s today’s card, featuring “Sunday“:
(I paper pieced his scarf and jeans, then added shading to those sections with BV00 and BV000 markers.)
I found the clear ticket and canvas embellishments in my stash. They were originally for a paper collection I had a few years ago, but I think it’s so cool that I was able to match them to the papers I picked for today’s card!
Make sure that you join me here and at the TGF blog next week, as we preview The Greeting Farm’s October release! For all of the details on this Farm Fresh Friday challenge, and to link up your entry, visit The Greeting Farm’s blog!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,

Mojo Monday on Sunday!

Hi, everybody! Hope you had a great weekend, and are managing to sneak in some crafty time along the way!

Yesterday, we went out for breakfast and ran a few errands, and today was fairly low-key. We finished going through boxes in one of our spare bedrooms and are down to one and a half rooms that need to be sorted through. YAY!

I still have a few things I’d like to do to set up my craft room, but those will come around eventually. I painted my pegboard and hope to get it up on the wall this week.

In the meantime, I’m stopping in to share my card for Mojo Monday #296. I’ve wanted to play along for some time, but never seemed to get around to it. I’m happy to have a card to share with you today!

Supplies: image stamps (“Saturday” and “Blush Crown” – The Greeting Farm), sentiment stamp (Paper Smooches), papers (“Clippings” 6×6 pad – Basice Grey), assorted Copic markers, silver pigment ink, Memento Rich Cocoa ink, clear embossing powder, brads, jute twine, button, sewing machine.
Scott’s birthday is coming up soon, and I’m not sure if I’ll give him this card or make another before then.
My card is a little different from the original sketch. I flipped the strip of paper with the brads so they’re on the right side instead of the left, and added some jute twine and a button along the bottom. Here’s the original Mojo Monday sketch for your reference:
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you have a wonderful week!
Hugs,

Since we’re making masculine cards this week, I thought the “Handy Ian” digi would be great to use, especially since Father’s Day will be here before we know it! (He’s still available in the TGF store!)
The papers I used have been in my stash for a while. Glad I finally used them!
TGF stamp (“Handy Ian” digi), Other supplies: jute twine, wood button, mini screw brads, assorted Copic markers, patterned paper (“Vintage T” 6×6 pad – We R Memory Keepers), silver gel pen, Memento Nautical Blue ink.
