retro sketches #50

How’s it going, everybody? I’m just popping in today to share my card for this week’s retro sketches challenge (#50)!
To create this card, I used the “Vintage Clocks” stamp set by The Craft’s Meow and papers from Authentique’s “Lovely” paper pad.¬†
Other supplies: kraft card stock, foam tape, watermark ink, white embossing powder, sewing machine, heart brad (Queen & Co.).
Here’s the sketch that inspired my card (the only change I made is that I flipped the sentiment banner):

TGF Farm Fresh Friday: Ribbon/Lace

Happy Friday, everybody! It’s time for a new Farm Fresh Friday challenge at The Greeting Farm!
You still have a few days to play along with our Double Take Tuesday color challenge, too! Just scroll down to my next post or stop by The Greeting Farm’s blog for all the details!
Our theme for this week’s Farm Fresh Friday is Ribbon and/or lace! I chose to use both on my card.
It has been a while since I colored in monochrome (this time, I added in light shades of pink to all the greys), and I wanted to do something different with “Lovey Bean” for this card. Several of the Valentine’s pads in my stash had some kind of grey with red and/or pink, so I let that guide my inspiration.
The most challenging part of coloring this way is deciding what temperature the greys will be. I used mostly neutral greys, but also some cool and warm shades as needed. I also picked the lightest shades of red and red-violet markers to accent parts of the image.
Here are the details that you’ll need to play along with this challenge:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded to the TGF blog via the InLinkz tool at the bottom of the challenge post no later than Thursday, February 8 at NOON CST. (You can add a direct link from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF Galleria. If the InLinkz tool isn’t working, just leave your link in the comments section of the challenge post on the TGF blog.)
  • The fabulous prize…a random participant will be selected to win their choice of an in-stock SINGLE RUBBER STAMP or a 4×6 set! (We’ve increased our prize offering for 2013 — we hope you enjoy it!)
Thanks so much for stopping by today! To see what the rest of the Showcase Team created to inspire your creations, stop by the TGF blog! We can’t wait to see what you’ll make for this challenge! ūüôā

Paper Smooches SPARKS: Picture Perfect

Greetings! Just popping in today to share my card for the new SPARKS challenge at Paper Smooches! This time, it’s a “Picture Perfect” challenge!

For my card, I used images and a sentiment from the “Woofers & Tweeters” set:

Other supplies: card stock, patterned paper (Echo Park), embossing folder (Lifestyle Crafts/Quickutz), metal dies (Spellbinders), button, twine (The Twinery), Copic markers, Brilliance Graphite Black Ink, orange ink (Stampin’ Up).
To make the background, I die cut the heart from the white card stock, then embossed the panel. Finally, I inked up my brayer and rolled it along the embossed panel. To make sure the heart was placed in the dog’s mouth, I cut a slit with my craft knife, then slipped a corner of the heart underneath.
You may already know that I almost always color my dog stamps grey/black in honor of my dachshund, Midnight. I thought the color scheme for this challenge was perfect!
And here is the photo that inspired my card:
For all of the details on this challenge and for more picture perfect inspiration, stop by the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog! The deadline for this challenge is Sunday, February 3 at 10:59 PM Eastern.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hugs,

Happy Friday, friends of the farm! It’s time for a new Farm Fresh challenge at The Greeting Farm! This week, we’d like you to break out some of your favorite punches or dies and share your TGF creation with us!

I chose to feature “Awareness Anya” again this week! For this challenge, I’m pairing her with a classic heart die and a sentiment from TGF’s “Lovey Dovey” set. YNS Fun Friday: You’ll LOVE this month’s theme!

Hi, crafty friends! It’s my turn to post a card for Your Next Stamp’s Fun Friday! This month, our theme is “LOVE”!

I picked “Brooke from the USA” for my card this week (the sentiment is from YNS’s “You Make My Heart Soar” set):

I cut the felt hearts using YNS’s “Whatnots Seasons Set One” dies. I love the versatility of this set!
Don’t forget about our “Tasty Tuesday” Challenges, which started this week and feature tasty food photos that are sure to deliciously inspire your next stamping project!¬†

colourQ #147

Happy Tuesday! I’d like to share my card for this week’s colourQ challenge with you:
Supplies: embossing folder (Lifestyle Crafts), sentiment stamp (Paper Smooches), heart and square dies (Spellbinders), button, twine (Whisker Graphics), colored cardstock (Stampin’ Up – Lucky Limeade, Regal Rose, Brilliant Blue, Baja Breeze), white cardstock (Papertrey Ink).
And here’s our colour combo to inspire you this week:
Before I go, I’d like to let you know that this is my last week with the colourQ Royal Court.¬†
The colourQ is one of the first challenges I played along with when I started making cards…it has been phenomenal to have been part of the team for almost 1 1/2 years!
My husband is in the process of departing the U.S. military after 13 years, and we’re transitioning back to civilian life (with one last move on the way near the end of this year).
I’m so honored and humbled to have designed with all of the fabulous ladies on the Royal Court…they always floor me with their creativity!¬†
Special thanks to Arielle for giving me a chance to join the Royal Court…you are a ROCKSTAR!
I will still be making cards, of course, but my focus will be shifting to a few new crafty opportunities and preparing for our upcoming move. This was, without a doubt, the hardest crafting-related decision I’ve had to make.

¬†And as always, thank YOU for stopping by! I hope I’ll still inspire you with my creations each week!

Hugs,

P.S.¬†To be considered for this week’s colourQueen, make sure to link your creation at the¬†colourQ blog¬†by Sunday, July 29 at noon Central Time! (Don’t forget to display the challenge colors and link back to the¬†colourQ blog¬†in your entry post.)
Of course, the rest of the¬†colourQ¬†Royal Court have created some gorgeous projects with this week’s colors! You can see them on the¬†colourQ blog¬†or by visiting their personal blogs. (The links are to the right next to the thumbnail of this week’s challenge colors.)
