CCC Week 2 – Die Cuts!

Hi, crafty friends! It’s time for a new Christmas Card Challenge, and this week, we’re featuring festive die cuts of all shapes and sizes!
My card features some peppermints that I die cut with a fun Savvy Stamps die and some Basic Grey Aspen Frost paper.
I wish I would have been able to die cut the jar as well, but of the jar dies I have on hand, none of them were the right size for the image! Instead, I used Staz-On ink to stamp the jar onto a transparency sheet, and then added paper for the lid, some twine and a holly stamped accent.
Other supplies: jar stamp (American Crafts), twine (Trendy Twine), sentiment stamps (various – Paper Smooches, Some Odd Girl), button, jumbo ric rac, card stock (Stampin’ Up – red; kraft & white – PaperTrey Ink), Stickles, Glossy Accents, transparency sheet, ink (StazOn black, Brilliance Graphite Black), Copic markers.

All of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on our blog so we can stop by and say hi!

It’s not necessary that you use a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp on your card, but we sure love it when you do!

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the fun and festive cards they’ve created this week: AlannaCorinneJennifer,Jovita, KarenKatieLeesaLorie, MargoMichelePat, Stephanieand our guest designer Mel. B.!

Whimsy & Stars Studio Christmas Blog Hop!

Can you feel it? Christmas is in the air! To get ready for the season, we’re having a blog hop to show off all the Christmas and winter-themed images available from Whimsy and Stars Studio and to introduce the new Winter 2013 design team!

I’m one of the new DT members, and I’m super excited to be part of the team…it’s going to be so much fun creating with all these talented ladies, and showing you all the fun things we’ll create with Mabelle R.O.’s latest digi stamps!

If you just arrived from Melissa’s blog, you’re on the right track!  If not, please start at the beginning of the hop at the Whimsy and Stars Studio blog to make sure you don’t miss out on anything!

As you hop along, you’ll want to leave a comment for each member of the design team! After the hop ends on Friday, December 7th at midnight EST, one random winner, to be announced on the Whimsy and Stars Studio blog on December 8th, will be picked from all the comments received to win the Grand Prize of THREE Digi Stamps! (How cool is that?)

I love the decorations and festive nature of the Christmas season…especially all of the creative gifts and packaging ideas! We haven’t put up our tree yet, but we plan to this week!

For my project, I used the image “Felicity“. I also used two special images…details on how to get them can be found below my project photos!

Here’s a close-up of my card:

The two special images featured on my gift bag are FREE gifts with each purchase from the Whimsy and Stars Studio Etsy Store from today until Friday, December 7 at midnight EST! With your order, you’ll get to choose either “Stocking Ted” or “Xmas Tag” as your free gift! Because these are digi stamps, there are so many fun and creative possibilities for either image!

Thank you for hopping with us today!  Your next stop on the hop is the talented Tracy’s blog.
Don’t forget to leave a comment at each stop on the hop to increase your chance of winning the Grand Prize!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs,

P.S. Here’s a master list of all the blogs on the hop:

Festive and Fun Cards (and a freebie)!

Hi, crafty friends! Just wanted to stop by today to share a couple of winter and holiday cards with you!

My first card features a freebie from the oh-so-adorable Whimsy and Stars Studio! This FREE tree digi made its debut today on the Whimsy and Stars Studio blog and is available for download until Monday, December 1 at 6 p.m. Eastern Time.

Because it’s a whimsical tree, I went with some not-so-traditional colors in my design. I colored the tree with Copics, and accented the berries and stars with Stickles. I also added some Stickles to make the funky turf in the flowerpot!

Other supplies: patterned paper (SEI Berry Melody), sentiment stamp (aMuse Studio), twine (Trendy Twine – Annie’s Paper Boutique), card stock (white, kraft – Papertrey Ink; Pool Party – Stampin’ Up), Copic markers, sewing machine, Stickles (Star Dust, Cotton Candy), Spellbinders Labels 25.
My second card features “Arctic Friends,” a new stamp set I picked up from Lil’ Inker Designs. It was so fun to color up, and I finally got to use some embellishments I’ve had for a while.
You can’t really see it in the picture, but I added Glossy Accents to the ice that the polar bear is sitting on. Some Stickles were added to the ice cream to make them sparkle.

Other supplies: patterned paper (Echo Park – Winter Wishes), chipboard accent (Crate Paper), twine (Trendy Twine – Annie’s Paper Boutique), ink (Tsukineko Brilliance Graphite Black, SU Night of Navy), brads, sewing machine, Spellbinders Labels 25, foam tape.

Well, that’s all for now! I’ll be back on Sunday with a new Christmas Card Challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs,

Christmas Card Challenges: Week 50 (Snowmen)!

Happy Sunday! I’m popping in today to share my card for this week’s Christmas Card Challenge…snowmen!

I got this little guy as part of a Pink Paislee wood accent set I found on clearance. I inked him with white pigment ink, after masking off his hat to color in later with a Copic marker. I sealed the ink with Glossy Accents, and wrapped some strands of twine around his neck for a scarf.

Other supplies: patterned paper (Memory Box), sentiment (Papertrey Ink), enamel dots (My Mind’s Eye), lace trim (My Mind’s Eye), twine (Trendy Twine), ink (Brilliance Graphite Black), kraft card stock.

Although all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on the CCC blog so we can stop by and leave you some lovely comments!

Happy Sunday, crafty friends! Hope you’re ready for a new Christmas Card Challenge! This week, we’re incorporating animal prints on our cards:
To be honest, this was a toughie for me…I don’t have any animal print paper, but I had an idea…what if I used paper that had animals printed on it?
I found this paper at a local scrapbook store; it’s from SEI’s “Silver Valley” collection.
Supplies: sentiment stamp (PaperTrey Ink), patterned paper (SEI Silver Valley; woodgrain – aMuse Studio), snowflake stamp (Stampin’ Up – Northern Hearts [retired set]), wood button, kraft card stock, VersaMark watermark ink, clear opaque embossing powder, brown seam binding ribbon, adhesive rhinestones, card base, corner rounder.

Christmas Card Challenges #37 – Texture

Happy Sunday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

I spent all day Saturday crafting with some of my friends at my monthly craft group!

For this week’s Christmas Card Challenge, we’d like for you to use texture on your card!

My card doesn’t have a ton of texture, but I’d say that the embossed snow background, the jute twine and the felt snowflakes would count, right?

My main image is the super cute Ellie Loves to Ski by Your Next Stamp! The sentiment is from A Muse Studio (Mini Holiday Messages set).

Although all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on the CCC blog so we can stop by and leave you some lovely comments!
