CCC Week 10 – Gingerbread

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!
My favorite team didn’t make it to the Super Bowl this year, but my husband’s did, so we’ll be cheering for the San Francisco 49ers today. I would have preferred to see the New Orleans Saints play, but they weren’t as good this year as they’ve been over the last few years. I’m more excited for the commercials and the “Puppy Bowl” at halftime rather than the actual game!
Anyway, it’s time for a new Christmas Card Challenge, and this week, we’re inspired by:
I am getting inspired by the “blackboard” look lately, and I thought this tag from American Crafts would be pretty cool to use for my card, along with a gingerbread die from Your Next Stamp.

Christmas Card Challenges – Week #8

Happy Sunday! It’s time for a new Christmas Card Challenge, and this week, we’re inspiring you with a sketch!

Here’s my card, featuring Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps’ “Rin and Snowman“:

And here’s the sketch that inspired my card! Instead of one single accent on the right side, I chose a more noticeable sentiment on the left, and added rhinestones to the right.

I designed this week’s sketch…I hope you enjoy creating with it!

CCC Week 5 – Paint

Happy Sunday, crafty friends! It’s time for a new Christmas Card Challenge, and this week, we’re passionate about paint!
Week #5
I tried something different for my card this week. I used some acrylic paint as ink when stamping my images.
I thought the images stamped clearer when I stamped on thick card stock instead of solid designer paper. I spread a layer of ink on some scrap card stock, then stamped the images. I made sure to quickly wash off the stamps with some mild soap and water so the paint wouldn’t dry on them.
I heat embossed the sentiment, and once the snowflakes were dry, I cut them out and added some Liquid Pearls to accent them.
Other supplies: designer paper (Carta Bella), twine (Trendy Twine), snowflake stamps (Martha Stewart Crafts), embossing folder (Cuttlebug), decorative frame element (SEI), sentiment stamp (Your Next Stamp).

All of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on our blog so we can stop by and say hi!

It’s not necessary that you use a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp on your card, but we sure love it when you do!

Christmas Card Challenges Week 4- Jingle Bells

Happy Sunday! It’s the day before Christmas Eve, and it’s time for a new Christmas Card Challenge!
This week, we’re doing the “Jingle Bell Rock” for our inspiration:
I have to tell you, it was such a relief when I mailed our last batch of Christmas cards this week. As soon as I put them in the mailbox, it felt like a huge weight was lifted off of my shoulders! I am very good at making cards, but I am horrible at sending them…I’m hoping you can relate!
My card for this week features some festive paper by October Afternoon, paired with the ever-lovely “Holiday Emily” from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps!

I die-cut the snowflake accent and added a button. I’m sure you’ll notice more felty accents on my cards this year…I’ve grown to love the stuff!

CCC Week #3 – Doilies

Hello crafty friends! It’s time for a new Christmas Card Challenge, and this week, we’re digging DOILIES!

The only doilies I have on hand are heart-shaped ones, but I do have a doily stamp set, so I used it to accentuate the focal image on my card:
Other supplies: twine (Trendy Twine), watermark ink (VersaMark), clear and white embossing powder, glitter tape (American Crafts), doily stamp (My Mind’s Eye), paper (October Afternoon – blue; My Mind’s Eye – red dot), kraft card stock, snowflake accent – Imaginisce, Copic markers.
Except for the doily stamp, the other stamps I used are from Your Next Stamp (snowflake and snowman stamps – Holiday Snow Globe set; sentiment – Winter Smiles Robin set). The little hat topper was created with Liquid Applique.

CCC Week 2 – Die Cuts!

Hi, crafty friends! It’s time for a new Christmas Card Challenge, and this week, we’re featuring festive die cuts of all shapes and sizes!
My card features some peppermints that I die cut with a fun Savvy Stamps die and some Basic Grey Aspen Frost paper.
I wish I would have been able to die cut the jar as well, but of the jar dies I have on hand, none of them were the right size for the image! Instead, I used Staz-On ink to stamp the jar onto a transparency sheet, and then added paper for the lid, some twine and a holly stamped accent.
Other supplies: jar stamp (American Crafts), twine (Trendy Twine), sentiment stamps (various – Paper Smooches, Some Odd Girl), button, jumbo ric rac, card stock (Stampin’ Up – red; kraft & white – PaperTrey Ink), Stickles, Glossy Accents, transparency sheet, ink (StazOn black, Brilliance Graphite Black), Copic markers.

Christmas Card Challenges Week 52 – Paper Piecing

Happy Sunday, crafty friends! I’m here today to share our last challenge for this term of Christmas Card Challenges. This week’s inspiration is paper piecing! (I paper pieced the bow on the candy cane.)

Other supplies: twine (Whisker Graphics), button, patterned paper (My Mind’s Eye “Winter Wonderland“), sentiment stamp (aMuse Studio), card stock (Stampin’ Up).
