You’ve probably arrived from Lenny’s blog, but in case you’re starting here, you’ll find the full hop list at the bottom of my post!

This month’s hop is once again being sponsored by The Ink Road! We’ll pick a winner from all of the comments left on our hop to receive a gift certificate to The Ink Road!

DEEP RED is our inspiration color for this month’s hop, and I made a clean and simple style card with Lawn Fawn’s “Scripty Love” die and birds from the “Year Four” and  “Happy Easter” stamp sets.

Happy 10th blogiversary, Jenn!

Hi, everybody! I’m helping my crafty friend Jenn Shurkus celebrate her 10-year blogiversary, and YOU can join in the party, too!

Jenn asked a bunch of her crafty friends to help her celebrate 10 years of blogging this month. Each of us picked one of the cards or projects that she’s made to CASE for our blog post.

She makes SO MANY fabulous cards, and I had a hard time narrowing down which one I’d use for my post. I finally picked this one that Jenn posted in January 2015:

thanks64

In case you’re not familiar with what CASE’ing a card is all about, I’ll let you in on a little secret…I’m not quite sure, either! I’ve heard that to CASE a card means “Copy And Share Everything,” but my interpretation is “use someone else’s card as the inspiration for a new card that you make, and give credit to the original creator.”

When I CASE a card, I base my take on the original card’s layout more than anything else. So, here’s my take on Jenn’s card! I kept most of the elements in her original layout, and also made a thank you-themed card.

100_5760wm

The die-cut word I used on my card was kind of big, so my layout changed to reflect that.  I stamped a mini scene in place of the stamp accent on the original card.

Want to join in the celebration? Just pick one card from Jenn’s blog or her Pinterest board and use that card as inspiration to make a new card. You can find more information and the linkup at Jenn’s blog…you might just win a prize from one of Jenn’s super-fabulous sponsors!

Make sure you link up your entry before August 4th for your chance at a prize! Winners will be announced on Jenn’s blog on August 7th at 8 am ET.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I’ve included my supply list at the bottom of this post.

Make It Crafty CAS Challenge #3 – Shaker Cards!

Hi, everybody! I can’t believe it’s already July! We’re kicking off a new Clean and Simple challenge today at Make it Crafty’s inspiration blog! Thanks to everyone who entered our June masking challenge! I hope we get even more entries for this one!

Our theme for this month’s challenge is shaker cards! I’ll admit, I haven’t made many of these, and it took me a while to figure everything out, but I love how this one came out!

I chose the new Jenny Cheers digi stamp for my card, and since tomorrow is Independence Day here in the U.S., I colored her in red, white and blue to celebrate the holiday!

100_5747wm

Here’s a close-up look at my card. I added sequins and some of the stars from the Shooting Stars Elements chipboard to the shaker part.

I’ll have a new card to share with you on the Make it Crafty inspiration blog on July 9th, and I’d love it if you stopped by to say hello!

For all of the details on this challenge, stop by the Make it Crafty blog and look for the challenge graphic on the right-hand side of the blog! Our challenge runs through the month of July, so there’s plenty of time to play along with us! We can’t wait to see your entries!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your week is off to a great start!

Lawnscaping FIT June Blog Hop

It’s time for the Lawnscaping Challenge Facebook Inspiration Team’s (FIT) Monthly Blog Hop! We normally have the FIT hop on the fourth Friday of the month, but there’s a special event happening on the blog next week, so our June hop is a week early!

You’ve probably arrived from Yukari’s blog, but in case you’re starting here, you’ll find the full hop list at the bottom of my post!

This month’s hop is once again being sponsored by The Ink Road! Be sure to visit The Ink Road and Lara’s blog! We’ll pick a winner from all of the comments left on our hop to receive a gift certificate to The Ink Road!

PURPLE is our inspiration color for this month’s hop, and while it’s one of my favorite colors, I sometimes have a hard time creating with it!  I made a card with the walrus in Lawn Fawn’s “Critters in the Arctic” stamp set . The fan is from the “Best Pun Ever” stamp set.

100_5724wm

I stamped another set of fan blades on vellum and punched a hole in the center of the vellum and the center of the white fan blades. Then I attached a brad to the center, but didn’t press it down all the way so the vellum blades can spin.

The “cool” background is made with the same technique (and stencil) that I used on this card.

Here’s a side and close-up look at my card:

Lawnscaping Challenge #108

Hi, everybody! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping challenge (#108)! Since we celebrated Flag Day yesterday here in the U.S., and the July 4th Independence Day holiday is right around the corner, we’re inspiring you to use stars and/or stripes on your challenge entry!

I made this sweet little love-themed card with some papers from Lawn Fawn’s Beachside petite paper pad and the hedgehogs from the mini “Hedgehugs” clear set. The stars and the sentiment are from the “Lucky Stars” stamp set.

100_5720wm

I made the moon by layering a sheet of vellum that I used to emboss the sentiment over a die cut circle of glittered paper. The marbling that you see is because the adhesive I used didn’t stick so well to the glittered paper. It still makes for an interesting effect, though!

Lawnscaping Challenge #108 is sponsored by Lawn Fawn! One lucky winner will receive a gift certificate to the Lawn Fawn store!

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Hi, everybody! There’s a new Coffee Lovers Blog Hop kicking off today! So, grab a cup of your favorite coffee, tea, or cocoa, and get ready for some caffeinated inspiration!

I made two cards for today’s hop because I couldn’t decide which one to post:

100_5707wm

My first card features images from Some Odd Girl stamps’ “Breakfast Friends” and  “Sunny Mae” sets. The sentiment on my card is from Taylored Expressions’ “A Hug in a Mug” cling stamp set.

100_5704wm

My second card was inspired by papers from Amy Tangerine’s “Stitched” 6×6 pad.  I matched colors from the paper to the different cups I stamped from Lawn Fawn‘s “Love You A Latte” clear stamp set.

100_5706wm

Many thanks to the crew at Coffee Loving Cardmakers for graciously organizing the hop and working so hard to get everything ready! You can find all of the details and the full list of blogs in today’s hop at Coffee Loving Cardmakers, including the prize lists from all of the super sponsors and the flash sponsors, who are donating prizes to give away during and after the hop!

The hop starts today and runs until Friday, June 12th at 11:59 p.m. Pacific. Make sure you leave a comment before you hop to the next blog, because there are prizes for a few lucky participants who leave comments on ALL of the blogs! MIC CAS Challenge #2: Masking

Hi, everybody! We’re kicking off a new month and a new Clean and Simple challenge at Make it Crafty’s inspiration blog! We had so many fabulous entries for our Background Technique challenge, and want to thank everybody who joined in the fun!

This month’s challenge is all about masking, and I have a super sweet card to share featuring the brand new Wishful Asha red rubber stamp set! I masked a scene with Asha, the clouds and the dandelions:

100_5699wm

Masking a scene is fun because you can get so much detail on a single layer. A design can be clean and simple, but that doesn’t mean that it’s boring or plain!

I’ll have a new card to share with you and some of my tips and techniques for masking on the Make it Crafty inspiration blog on June 9th, and I’d love it if you stopped by to say hello!

For all of the details on this challenge, stop by the Make it Crafty blog and look for the challenge graphic on the right-hand side of the blog! Our challenge runs through the month of June, so there’s plenty of time to play along with us! We can’t wait to see your entries!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your week is off to a great start!
