DeNami Blog Hop: Summer!

Happy Sunday! I hope you’re enjoying your trip through all of the fabulous creations on today’s DeNami Designs Blog Hop!

You should have arrived from Deb W.‘s blog, and now you’re visiting me (Suzanne Bier)! If you arrived directly onto my blog and want to start at the beginning, just visit the DeNami blog for the full list of hop participants!

Our theme for this month’s hop is SUMMER!
Don’t forget to leave comments for ALL the participants as you hop along…TWO lucky commenters will each win a $20 mini shopping spree on the DeNami Designs web site!
For this hop, I customized a tutorial that I found online to make a smaller version that fits on a water bottle! It has a little pocket on the front, which is the perfect size to store drink mix packets for a picnic or other summertime fun!

Notes: To make this narrower version, I cut the card stock strip at 4 1/4″ x 11″, which will let you make 2 treat holders from one 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of card stock! The score lines I used are 1/4″ apart instead of 1/2″ as shown in the tutorial. I also border punched the top of the pocket before I stuck everything down.

DeNami stamps used: Surfer Chickie, Umbrella Garnish, Party Time Stamp Set.
The sentiment used on this card is from another manufacturer…I stamped it to show placement on this example.

(This size could fit four regular bottle drink packets…unfortunately, I didn’t have any of those, so I used the 2-quart size for my example!)

Your next stop on the hop is the super-creative Barbara Murphy! I’m sure she’s created something totally summer-ific for the hop! In case you want to start at the beginning, the full list of participants is on theDeNami Designs blog!

Don’t forget…you have until Monday, July 9, 2012, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for one of the two $20 DeNami mini shopping sprees).
Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!

Christmas Card Challenges #31 – Monochromatic

Happy Sunday! It’s time for a new Christmas Card Challenge, and this week, we’re going monochromatic!

All of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on our blog so we can stop by and leave you some love!

It’s not necessary that you use a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp on your card, but we sure love it when you do! My card uses various shades of green, and features Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps’ Christmas Tree Ruby!

I think the hardest parts of making this card were not coloring the image, and using all those shades of green!

Drunken Stampers – On The Road Again

Hi, crafty friends! I am running somewhat late with my Drunken Stampers post. I had this card made a few days ago, and somehow forgot to take a photo of it! Sometimes working ahead isn’t necessarily a good thing!
Our new challenge at Drunken Stampers is TRAVEL…whatever that means to you! Sunday is Canada Day and we’ll be celebrating Independence Day here in the U.S. on July 4. For many people, that means some kind of travel is in their holiday plans!
Whether your favorite mode of transportation is a car, a bike, a plane, roller skates, or something else, it can inspire your entry for this challenge!

Here’s my card:

Supplies: patterned paper (Simple Stories, Echo Park), cardstock embellishments (Simple Stories), sentiment stamp (Unity Stamp Co.), twine (My Mind’s Eye), adhesive rhinestones, folder tab die (My Favorite Things).

Happy Thursday! It’s time for a new Your Next Stamp challenge! Thanks so much to everyone who played along with our “Anything Goes” challenge! We always love to see what you create!

Our latest challenge is based on this sketch:

and here’s my card, featuring Cupcake Cutie Fhiona:

I moved the squares up a bit and used a smaller rectangle for my main image to leave room for the sentiment.
Are you ready? Come and play with us! Because we’re just getting started with our Splitcoast challenges, you don’t have to use a YNS stamp on your entry, but if you have some, we’d love for you to use them!
AND…if you use YNS stamps or dies on your entries this month, you may be our next ROCKIN’ Guest Designer! Want all the details? Check out this thread on our forum!
You can link your creation in your gallery on Splitcoast Stampers OR at the YNS blog! If you link your card on Splitcoast, don’t forget to include the following keywords (yns, yournextstamp, ynsc and ynsc4) so we can see your entry and leave you some lovely comments !!!
You have until Wednesday, July 4 to submit your entry…AND one lucky random winner will get $10 in YNS Bucks to spend in the YNS Store! We can’t wait to see what you’ll create for this challenge! (For all the challenge details, click here.)
Thanks for stopping by! I can’t wait to see your entry for this week’s YNS challenge!

colourQ #143

Happy Tuesday! I’m back with a new colourQ challenge!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I spent some time catching up with a few of my favorite crafting buddies on a quick girls’ trip! It’s always fun to see them, but the time we were together passed by so quickly!

Here’s my card for this week:

Supplies: cardstock (Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Island Indigo, Basic Gray –  Stampin’ UP!), Spellbinders circle dies, Cuttlebug embossing folder, typed sentiment.
The card came together rather quickly, except for the sentiment. I was stumped! After much web surfing, I found this one! I hand-cut the heart and the pieces for the arrow based on pictures I found online.
and here’s our colourQ!

To be considered for this week’s colourQueen, make sure to link your creation at the colourQ blog by Sunday, July 1 at noon Central Time! (Don’t forget to display the challenge colors and link back to the colourQ blog in your entry post.)
Of course, the rest of the colourQ Royal Court have created some marvelous projects with this week’s colors! You can see them on the colourQ blog or by visiting their personal blogs. (The links are to the right next to the thumbnail of this week’s challenge colors.)
Thanks so much for stopping by! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s colourQ!

P.S. Don’t forget, there’s still time to play along with the current challenges at Christmas Card Challenges (use rolled flowers), Drunken Stampers (a colour challenge), and Your Next Stamp’s Splitcoast challenge (Anything Goes)!
