Your Next Stamp Recipe Challenge!

Happy Thursday, crafty friends! It’s time for a new challenge at Your Next Stamp! This week, it’s a recipe: 3 buttons, 2 ribbons, and 1 designer paper!

Here’s my card, using the “You Make My Heart Soar” set (which also happens to be on sale this week for 40% off):

Other supplies: cardstock (Stampin’ UP), designer paper (Basic Grey – What’s Up), Copic markers  (YR04, YR15, R22, R24), ribbon, ink (Brilliance Graphite Black), buttons, brads, card base, ribbon (from stash).
The challenging parts for me were limiting myself to one designer paper and working in a third button, but I managed to get everything on there…whew!

Remember, you still have time to play in our other challenges for August: a sketch challenge, an “anything goes” challenge, a book challenge, and a color challenge!

Don’t forget, we’ve had a few changes to our challenge guidelines, making it easier for everyone to play along and to have the chance to be a YNS Rockin’ Guest Designer!

Here’s the scoop:
  • Every Thursday we post a new YNS Challenge
  • You have the entire month to play along
  • Link your challenge entry to the YNS Blog post and/or to the SCS challenge thread
  • If you would like to post your challenge card in the SCS gallery please use the code provided for that challenge (for this challenge, the code words are ynsynscyournextstamp and ynsc13)
  • You don’t have to use YNS Stamps, but if you have some of our stamps we’d LOVE to see you ink them up!
  • Every month we will pick a lucky participant to be our special YNS Rockin’ Guest Designer!!!
Our Rockin’ YNS Guest Designers get:

  • NEW RELEASE YNS Stamp package! (You get the new goodies before anyone else!)
  • to join us for our new release blog hop and sneak peeks
  • the entire month of challenges in advance to play along with the YNS Challenge Team

Getting Sketchy with My Favorite Things Stamps!

Hi crafty friends! Happy Saturday! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
Scott and I went out for Italian food tonight for our weekly “Date Night”! It’s always good to have some quiet time with him…his schedule can be so crazy sometimes!
In craft-related news, I’m popping by today to share the card I made for the September Guest Designer Contest at My Favorite Things Stamps!
This month’s challenge is to make a card based on this sketch:
Here’s my first take, using MFT’s a la modes “Rock Star” set and the Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome for the sentiment. I created three star accents in place of the flower on the sketch and moved the sentiment a bit lower:

Other supplies: patterned papers (Basic Grey), embossing folder (Crafts Too), cardstock (Stampin’ UP!), ink (Brilliance Graphite Black), opaque white marker, Stickles, star punch, woodgrain paper (aMuse Studio), Copics (skin – E00, E11; hair – E42, E43, E44; guitar – R22, R32, C4, C0; clothes: shirt – R21, R22, R24, BV20, BV23, 100; shorts – YG93, YG95; shoes – N6; shadows – W0, W2, W4), seam binding ribbon, silver gel pen.
Other supplies: patterned papers (Bo Bunny), cardstock, ink (Brilliance Graphite Black), Copics (skin – E00, E21, R02; hair – E42, E43, E44; clothes: BG13, BG23, BG0000, BG32, BG34, G21, G24, G40, YR21, W0, W2; shoes: E31), seam binding ribbon, sewing machine, glitter brads.
There’s still time to play along with this one…the deadline is Monday, September 3 at noon Eastern Time. Click HERE for all the details, and if you’d like to see all the entries, visit the MFT gallery at Splitcoast!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Birthday, Thanh!

Today is my friend Thanh‘s birthday…several weeks ago, a few of her mischievous crafty friends set up a surprise (and somewhat adult) blog hop for her. Sparkle bought the stamp from Viva Las Vegas stamps, and we all stamped and colored the image for our cards.

To our surprise, Thanh LOVED all of the cards and insisted that we do a blog hop for her birthday to share the cards with the world. We all used the same stamp image…here is a G-rated peek at it.

So as not to offend our readers, we made a photo album for the cards, instead of posting the full card on our blogs, so the cards would be available to those who want to see them.
So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, THANH!
(My fellow partners in crime are: Sparkle, Spike, Stephanie, and Peggy.)
If you’re feeling especially festive, stop by Thanh’s blog and wish her a very happy birthday!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
P.S. I’m the featured returning designer today at the recently and tastefully re-vamped (by me) Drunken Stampers challenge blog…what a coincidence! EEK! Our next challenge will be unveiled on Saturday!

A few updates…

Hi crafty friends! Just wanted to stop by and share a few updates on some of crafty things I have going on!
Unfortunately, there has been a little hiccup in the August stamp release at The Craft’s Meow. We’re on standby until the release is fully ready, but I will definitely share the cards I’ve made when I get the OK to show them to you! For more details, please visit The Craft’s Meow blog!

The second and slightly happier update is that we’ll be re-launching the Drunken Stampers challenge blog on Saturday!
I’ve been working on a full re-design of the site, including layout, challenge graphics and some other goodies for the rest of my fellow Designated Stampers.
We’re also changing our challenge schedule! So, instead of a new challenge every other week, we’ll have something new for you each week!
Feel free to grab the blinkie for your blog! I really hope you’ll join us this Saturday at Drunken Stampers for our newest challenge! (You don’t have to be tipsy to play along in our challenges…we just want you to have fun creating with us!)

I’ll be back on Thursday with a new Your Next Stamp challenge! Don’t forget, you still have time to play in all of the YNS challenges we’ve issued this month! (Anything Goes, Books, and a color challenge!) We’ve changed the rules to make it easier for everyone to play along! Check it out HERE.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi, crafty friends! Just a short post to let you know that I’m this month’s guest designer at The Craft’s Meow! I met Lisa, owner of The Craft’s Meow at CHA in January, and I’m so excited to be guesting for her company this month!

Starting Friday, I’ll be joining the fabulous ladies of The Craft’s Meow Design Team to share peeks of this month’s releases with all of you!

Christmas Card Challenges #37 – Texture

Happy Sunday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

I spent all day Saturday crafting with some of my friends at my monthly craft group!

For this week’s Christmas Card Challenge, we’d like for you to use texture on your card!

My card doesn’t have a ton of texture, but I’d say that the embossed snow background, the jute twine and the felt snowflakes would count, right?

My main image is the super cute Ellie Loves to Ski by Your Next Stamp! The sentiment is from A Muse Studio (Mini Holiday Messages set).

Although all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on the CCC blog so we can stop by and leave you some lovely comments!

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the fun and festive cards they’ve created this week: AlannaBrigitteCandace,CorinneDeeKatieLeesaMargoMichelePat, and Stephanie!
