MFT October Guest Designer Contest

Hello crafty friends! I’m back to share my card for My Favorite Things’ October Guest Designer Contest!
I used a sweet Pure Innocence stamp and matching sentiment from the “Hello Cupcake” set. The image is colored with Copic markers. I added a pattern to her dress with a white opaque marker.
I would have liked to have the Rounded Banner Die-Namics to create the shape that the main image is stamped on, but I tried my best to get it right with the supplies I had on hand!
Other supplies: patterned paper (Cosmo Cricket Early Bird, Echo Park Dots & Stripes), brads, sewing machine, card stock.
I’ve never had a giant cupcake like that one, but it looks tasty! It’s been a while since I baked up something yummy…I made pumpkin bread last week and I was lucky to get a piece or two before my husband finished off the rest!
Here’s the sketch that inspired my card:

The Craft’s Meow Previews: Day 3

Greetings! I’m back for our third day of previews of this month’s stamp set release at The Craft’s Meow

Today’s featured sets are “Fall Blessings” and “Fall with Fibi and Lilly”…both of these super sweet sets are designed by Mabelle R-O. and are perfect for Fall and Halloween!

My first card features images and a sentiment from “Fall Blessings.” I stamped and colored a couple of the pumpkins and used foam tape to add dimension:

other supplies: card stock, patterned paper (Basic Grey Oxford), Spellbinders Labels 25, Copic markers, adhesive rhinestones, buttons, twine, foam tape, sewing machine, opaque clear marker, ink (Brilliance Graphite Black).
I originally made the first card without realizing that I didn’t make a card with the other set. So, last night, I made this card with “Fall with Fibi and Lilly.”

Since the first card had a bold look to it, I wanted to make a softer-themed card, so I stamped the main image on a parchment-looking paper with lighter ink, and used light colors of Copics to color it in. (I also used the leaf background stamp from the “Fall Blessings” set to create a little background.):

other supplies: brads, seam binding ribbon, patterned paper (Authentique), ink (SU Crumb Cake), foam tape.

If you’d like a chance to win these sets, all you have to do is leave a comment on The Craft’s Meow blog by 9PM Pacific Time tonight (September 19).

To see all of the beautiful creations that the super-talented TCM team created with this set, please visit The Craft’s Meow blog!

I’ll be back tomorrow with previews of TWO more new sets, one of which is the free gift that you’ll receive with a $50 purchase!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Christmas Card Challenges #42

Happy Sunday, crafty friends! Hope you’re ready for a new Christmas Card Challenge! This week, we’re incorporating animal prints on our cards:
To be honest, this was a toughie for me…I don’t have any animal print paper, but I had an idea…what if I used paper that had animals printed on it?
I found this paper at a local scrapbook store; it’s from SEI’s “Silver Valley” collection.
Supplies: sentiment stamp (PaperTrey Ink), patterned paper (SEI Silver Valley; woodgrain – aMuse Studio), snowflake stamp (Stampin’ Up – Northern Hearts [retired set]), wood button, kraft card stock, VersaMark watermark ink, clear opaque embossing powder, brown seam binding ribbon, adhesive rhinestones, card base, corner rounder.

Although all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on the CCC blog so we can stop by and leave you some lovely comments!

We also don’t require that you use Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps on your cards, but if you have them, we’d love to see you ink them up when you play along!

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the wild and wonderful cards they’ve created this week: AlannaBrigitteCandaceCorinneDeeKatieLeesaMargoMichelePat, and Stephanie…and our guest designer, Natali!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a fabulous week and don’t forget to link your entry on the Christmas Card Challenges blog! See you there!
