Konnichiwa! I’m so excited to share my card for the newest clear release at Some Odd Girl!
Here’s “Geisha Kaylee“…isn’t she gorgeous?
I think it’s cool to add patterns to clothing. For Kaylee, I added little clusters of three dots to her kimono and little clusters of four dots on her fan to make them look like cherry blossoms.
As you can see, there are TONS of design possibilities with this set! I used all of the stamps in the set (except for the other sentiment) on my card, and it was a blast to color Kaylee, although I’d love to work more on shading the pleats in her kimono.

Look who shambled into the SOG Store…it’s Zombie Kody!

It’s kind of a freaky Friday at Some Odd Girl…did you see that we’re celebrating the release of two new zombie digis in the store this week? Zombie Mae and Zombie Kody are shambling in for those of you who like your Halloween cards more creepy than cute…

I chose Zombie Kody for today’s card. I’ve never colored up a zombie image before, but it was fun to experiment with new skin tone combinations…I think the result is zombie-riffic!


I colored the skin with E40, E41, E42 and the shading with BV0000, BV000, BV00 and N1, N2 and N3. When I colored his clothes, I went for more faded colors and added a “dirty” look in some places. The paper colors are so bright, so I chose to color my main image with more faded colors.

Terrific Tags for Farm Fresh Friday at TGF!

Happy Friday! I’m stopping in today to share my project for the new Farm Fresh Friday challenge at The Greeting Farm! It’s my turn to pick a theme for the challenge and write up the post, so I chose “Terrific Tags”, since we’re going to be celebrating the holidays soon!

My featured pick for my tag is the newest Anya on the Farm, “Holiday Anya 3“! I added some Liquid Applique’ and used a heat tool to give her hand warmer some extra fluff!

I’m an Odd Girl!

Hi, everybody! Today’s the day I can finally share some good news with you…I’m an Odd Girl (but you probably knew that already!) Seriously, what it really means is that I’m one of the new members of the Design Team at Some Odd Girl! The announcements are rolling out this morning at the SOG blog, so you can pop over there and see the full list of the new team members!
With today’s announcement comes a new challenge at Some Odd Girl, and this month, we’re going OMBRE’! I chose the Halloween Tia” digi for today’s tag:
My ombre’ technique for the background was created with four different shades of Copic markers. Here are the colors from lightest shade to darkest: V20, V22, V25 and V28. After coloring in overlapping bands with the markers, I sprayed some colorless blender onto the cardstock to fade the lines a little.
I can’t reveal any details yet, but I’ll just say that you are going to LOVE what SOG is releasing over the next six months! No matter if you’re a clear or digi stamp fan, there’s plenty of awesomeness coming your way! And, don’t forget to play along with our challenges at the SOG blog and at the Some Odd World community on ning (you need to create an account there, but it’s quick and easy)!

We’re Celebrating Release Day at the Greeting Farm!

Hi, everyone! Thank you so much for joining us in The Greeting Farm‘s OCTOBER release!  

We are really excited about Anya coming home for the holidays (for the 3rd time!), Dante’s super cool look, and the Western Cuties made themselves RIGHT at home on the Farm!   Which one is your favorite this month?  I know, I know…it’s always hard for us to choose, too!

Happy Tuesday, Friends of The Greeting Farm! We’re getting ready to kick off our October release previews tomorrow, but we’ve come up with one more Garden Variety Tuesday challenge for September! This week’s challenge will last for two weeks so we can bring you all of the new release festivities on October 1!

Our theme for this week’s GVT is “Blue Raspberry,” which means that we want to see berry pink and aqua blue on your entry!

A new and colorful challenge at SCRS!

Happy Tuesday, everybody! It’s my turn to post a card for the new challenge at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps! This time, we’re inspired by a color combination, and I chose “Cafe Lucy” for my card:

TGF FFF: Paper Piecing!

Happy Friday, everybody! Is it just me, or has this been a LONG week? It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve blogged!
It’s time for a new Farm Fresh Friday challenge at The Greeting Farm, of course, and this week’s theme is paper piecing! I’ll admit, I don’t paper piece as much these days because I love to color, but I still made the pieces look like they were colored with some shading. Here’s today’s card, featuring “Sunday“:
(I paper pieced his scarf and jeans, then added shading to those sections with BV00 and BV000 markers.)
I found the clear ticket and canvas embellishments in my stash. They were originally for a paper collection I had a few years ago, but I think it’s so cool that I was able to match them to the papers I picked for today’s card!
