A Perfectly ODD Hop!

WELCOME to A Perfectly Odd Hop!  We Odd Girls have partnered up with the lovely ladies from Perfect Paper Crafting to bring you something fun and different! You should have arrived from Perfect Paper Crafting’s blog, and now you’re visiting me (Suzanne Bier)!

PPChop
We had the pleasure of getting together with Perfect Paper Crafting at CHA in Vegas, and a collaborative event was an absolute NO-BRAINER!  Would the Odd Girls like to try out some fun tools?  Heck yes!  Does the Perfect Paper Crafting team want to play with some cute stamps?  Sure thing!  And it’s a match made in heaven…

Today, both teams come together to bring you a fabulously inspiring BLOG HOP that will run through Sunday, November 17th.  There are 16 stops along the way including the main blogs, and PLENTY of inspiration for you to enjoy, so we hope you have as much fun as we’ve all had in this little partnership!

If you’re not already familiar with Perfect Paper Crafting, you are in for a TREAT!  Their tools allow crafters to get perfect placement of their mats and edges, easily shape and layer, and AIRBRUSH for gorgeous effects on their projects!  The Odd Girls enjoyed playing with their Perfect Layers, Perfect Squares, and Perfect Ruler for this little event!

I’m sharing a tag today that I made with help from the Perfect Ruler and features stamps from the Breakfast Friends and Holly Day Gwen clear sets:

I used the Perfect Ruler to trim the paper I used on my tag, and the tag pattern. It was super fun to play with the ruler, and it’s a great portable tool that I can keep on my desk and not only use it to trim paper, but tear paper, align layers on a project, and of course, draw a straight line for lining up brads or embellishments, or creating faux stitching.
Be sure to comment at EVERY stop and you’ll be eligible to win one of TWO prize packs that include one of these tools and a stamp set of your choice!  Your next stop is Eva Uyeunten’s blog.

We’ll be sharing inspiration throughout the week so you can see how the Odd Girls have used the Perfect Paper Crafting tools, and maybe a little guest project here and there from our partners in this hop!  You have until Sunday at midnight EST to leave your comments, and Some Odd Girl and Perfect Paper Crafting will each draw one winner, to be announced on Monday, November 18th.  Have a Perfectly Odd day, and good luck!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you’re having a wonderful week!

Moxie Fab Thanks! Blog Hop

Hi, everybody! I’m pleased and honored to be a part of the Moxie Fab Thanks! Blog Hop! We’re celebrating the Queen of Moxie Fab World, Cath Edvalson, and thanking her for bringing us so many years of inspiration through Paper Crafts magazine and the Moxie Fab World blog.
You’ve probably arrived from Ilina Crouse‘s blog, and now you’re visiting me (Suzanne Bier)! For the full list of blog hop participants, you can visit the Moxie Fab World blog, or check out the FULL list of all 285(!) blogs on today’s hop at the bottom of my post!

Whether she was introducing us to the latest and hippest trends in paper crafting, sharing a photo of something that inspired her, featuring a rock star of paper crafting as the Moxie Fabber of the Week, or boosting our crafty mojo with the Tuesday Trigger, Cath has been instrumental in the lives of so many who love paper crafting, and her passion for the hobby shined with every post.

I began blogging in 2008, and Moxie Fab World has been one of my go-to sources of inspiration from the very beginning. I have grown as a paper crafter and card maker thanks to Cath and Moxie Fab World. Words can’t accurately express the admiration and appreciation that I have for Cath and what a bittersweet moment this is for me and other card makers.

Here’s my card for the hop! I’ll write a personal thank you note on the inside of the card. Hope it brings a little sunshine to Cath’s day!
Supplies: image stamps (“Breakfast Friends“, “Sunny Mae” – Some Odd Girl), patterned paper (“Persimmon” and “Carte Postale” 6×6 pads – Basic Grey), cardstock (Night of Navy – Stampin’ UP!, kraft – PaperTrey Ink), ink (“Nautical Blue”, “Daffodil” and “Espresso Truffle” – Tsukineko Memento), assorted Copic markers, Wobble Spring.
Now it’s time to hop over to Sherry Wright‘s blog! Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoy all of the gorgeous creations in today’s hop!

TGF Farm Fresh Friday: Wonderful Washi!

Hi, everybody! Are you ready for a new Farm Fresh Friday challenge? I know you’ll find this week’s challenge wishy-washi wonderful! That’s right…we’re inspired by washi tape (real or faux)!

My card features Amelia from the newly released “Oliver and Amelia Valentine” set:

I used woodgrain washi tape to make a border on the card and also covered a wooden heart accent with the same washi tape.

Here’s the scoop on playing along with this and all of our Farm Fresh Friday challenges:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz no later than Thursday, November 14th at NOON CST
  • You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria. (If the InLinkz tool is missing, feel free to link your submission URL in the comment section!)
  • The fabulous prize: A random participant will be selected to win their choice of an in-stock SINGLE RUBBER STAMP or a 4×6 set!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulously creative weekend!

SOG new digi release: Forest Goddess

Hi, everybody! Have you seen all the gorgeous creations at Some Odd Girl’s blog with the new clear stamp sets? I’m not part of the clear stamp previews this month, but I couldn’t wait to share this card I made with one of the new digi stamps released this week, “Forest Goddess.”
It took me at least two hours to color her, but I am glad I took the time to put in all the shading and detail. I think she’s GORGEOUS!!!!! I added some metallic bronze gel pen details on her outfit and some Stickles on the crystals in her staff. And, I fussy-cut her out and popped her up a bit with some foam tape.
I’m so happy with the end result, I’m considering coloring her again (probably in a larger size) for a different season. I think she’d look lovely with a Fall or Winter theme, don’t you?
Be sure to stop by the SOG blog to check out what the DT is sharing with the “Little Loves“, “Welcome Baby” and “On Safari” clear sets!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope your week is ROCKIN’!

SCRSC #117: Felt

Hi, everybody! It’s time for a new challenge at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps!
This week, we’re challenging you to use felt on your entry. I made a card featuring “Chocolate Box Ruby” and I used felt from my stash to create a chocolate candy embellishment.
My card’s layout is based on the current Mojo Monday sketch:
To play along in our challenge, upload a photo of your project and provide a direct link in the linky widget at the bottom of this challenge’s post at the SCRS blog. To be eligible for the challenge prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your entry. The deadline for challenge #116 is Sunday, November 17 @ 9 PM PST.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your week is going well so far!

We’re SPEECHLESS about this month’s challenge at SOG!

Hi, everybody! Now that it’s November, there’s a new challenge at Some Odd Girl! Thanks so much to everybody who went OMBRE with us last month…there were so many AH-MAY-ZING creations, that you left us speechless!
So, we’ve decided that the theme for this month’s challenge is SPEECH BUBBLES! And what better way to kick off the challenge than to show you our creations with the new “Speech Bubbles” cut file!
For my card today, I chose “Puppy Gwen“, who is giving some snuggles to her puppy pal:
I also used one of the images in the new “Speech Bubbles” cut file and created a custom cut file for my layer of patterned paper so that my typed sentiment and bubble would be on the same layer. I’m pretty stoked about how it came out! My main image is popped up with foam tape to give it a bit of dimension.
So, get your speech bubbles and a SOG image, whip something up, and join in the fun at the Some Odd Girl blog!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you’re having a SWEET week so far!
Hugs,
