Hip Hop Hooray! Some Odd Girl’s April Release – 2nd Day!

Hi, everybody! Welcome to the second day of the April clear stamp release at Some Odd Girl! Today’s projects will have you shouting “HIP HOP HOORAY”, which also happens to be the name of this adorable set!
Since I couldn’t choose between the set’s two bunnies for my project, I made a tag with each of them! The carrot is a separate stamp from the set, and I masked it onto each bunny. Aren’t they cute? I love how soft and spring-y they are!

My 2014 Stamping Royalty Entries!

For the second year in a row, I challenged myself to enter Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking magazine’s “Stamping Royalty” contest. Although I didn’t get a happy e-mail again this year, I thought I’d share the cards that I entered in this year’s contest with you!
I was inspired by fellow blogger and crafter Ashley Harris to post my “Royalty-In-Waiting” cards. She’s encouraging those who didn’t get the happy e-mail to share their cards on her blog and on their personal blogs, so I’m going to link my cards up, and hope they inspire you!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you’ll have time to get some crafting done over the weekend!

I’m back on the Some Odd Girl Stamps Team!

Hi, everybody! I can finally let you in on some news I’ve been waiting to share…I’m going to be on the Some Odd Girl team for another year! WOOHOO! We’re gearing up for what’s going to be another AH-MAY-ZING term, and you’ll love what we’re working on!
Today, I’m sharing my favorite project from the past term. You may remember the “Daffodil Fairy” digital stamp, which was released in mid-February:
It was so hard to pick my favorite project, but I kept going back to this little cutie. She makes me smile, and I’m pretty pleased with how the shading came out on her flower and dress. And, I love the paper collection that I used on the card! (You can find all of the details on this card at my original post.)
What’s new this time around is that Some Odd Girl will have two Design Teams, one for Clear Stamps and one for Digital Stamps! I’m pleased to say that I’ll be sharing projects with both the clear and digital stamps this term, and bringing you more tutorials and inspiration, too!
You’ll also want to join us next week as we kick off Clear Stamp Release Week at Some Odd Girl! (And, I hear that there will also be a few new digi stamps in the store on Tuesday)! See you then!
Hugs,

It’s Digi Release Day at Some Odd Girl!

Hi, everybody! Hope your week is off to a good start! I’ve been doing a lot of coloring, and am trying to work on shading and light sources. Even though I’ve been through both of the Copic certification classes, there’s still so much to learn!
Images like the “Grands” digis at Some Odd Girl are great for practicing shading techniques. For today’s card, I worked on creating more dimension in the face and the clothing. The main image, “Grandpa Feeds the Ducks“, is one of two new digis in the Some Odd Girl store:
Because the paper was so bright and kind of busy, I went with a softer mat panel under the main images. I didn’t want to make it plain white because of the ducks, so I chose a light blue woodgrain pattern from my stash. I also made a custom accent by stamping a sentiment from the “Make A Statement” clear set on a piece of adhesive cork.
Did you have a chance to stop by the Some Odd Girl blog yesterday to check out my inspiration post? I made a felt coffee sleeve, stamped a few images from my Some Odd Girl clear stamps onto pieces of felt, then stitched them to decorate the sleeve!
Here’s a look at the front of the sleeve:
Before I sign off for today, make sure that you sign up for the Some Odd Girl newsletter if you haven’t already! You don’t want to miss any of the ODD news, sales and exclusives!

And, don’t forget that you still have a few days to get GOLDEN with us! Time’s running out on our March challenge, so make sure you link up before it closes!

Some warm & fuzzy inspiration today at the SOG blog!

Hi, everybody! I’m up on the Some Odd Girl blog today with a post full of warm and fuzzy inspiration!

I’d love it if you stop by to check out my project and say hi!
I’ll be back tomorrow with a card featuring one of this week’s new digis at Some Odd Girl!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope your week is going well so far!

Lawnscaping Challenge: Clean & Simple

Hi, everybody! Hope you’re having a great weekend so far!
It’s finally starting to feel like Spring here, and I got out for a little while today and enjoyed the warmer weather!
One of my goals for this year is to play along with more online challenges and break out of my crafty comfort zones, so I made this card for the current Lawnscaping Challenge. “Clean and Simple” is not something I normally do, because I love adding layers, but I gave it a try!
I fell in love with Lawn Fawn’s “Let’s Roll” set at Winter CHA, and I thought it would be a great set to use for this challenge:
And it happens that Scott & I went out for sushi last night, so my timing couldn’t be better!
There are a few days left for this challenge, so if you want to link up an entry, just stop by the Lawnscaping challenge blog and get all of the details!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Hugs,

SOG’s new digis = warm weather fun!

Hey, everybody! It’s time for a new digi stamp release at Some Odd Girl, and I’ve gotta say, today’s pair of digis have got me looking forward to some warm weather fun! First up is “Bubbles Tia“:
SOG supplies: “Bubbles Tia” digi stamp, sentiment from “Breakfast Friends” clear set. Designer Paper: “It’s A Celebration” 6×6 pad – Carta Bella, assorted Copic markers, Stickles, translucent sequins, Ranger Glossy Accents.
I loved blowing bubbles as a kid; how about you? I used some translucent sequins as accents near the sentiment, which is from the “Breakfast Friends” clear set…but it also works well with this digi! I also used some Stickles on the balloons and sealed them with Glossy Accents to give them some dimension.
My second card for today features “Hula Hoop Mae“:

SOG supplies: “Hula Hoop Mae” digital stamp, sentiment from “Flirty Mae” clear stamp set. Other supplies: Designer Paper: “Sketchbook” 6×6 paper pad – Amy Tangerine, foam tape, neon pink ink (Hero Arts), sequins, assorted Copic markers.
I also loved my pink hula hoop, although I seem to have lost my coordination for it now that I’m older. Maybe it’s time to get another one and change that!
The sentiment on this card is from the “Flirty Mae” clear set. I masked the speech bubble tail so that it would stamp as a circle instead!
Our Spring Social kicked off yesterday with all of the details and the first clue to the week-long scavenger hunt included in the newsletter. Make sure to sign up for the newsletter if you don’t get it! There’s still time to join all the fun, so make sure you’re a member of our Facebook group to play with us!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you’re having a wonderful week!
Hugs,
