Some SWEET news!

Hi, everybody! Before the weekend starts, I thought I’d share some fun and super SWEET news with you! I’ll be joining the Sweet Stamp Shop design team in June!  WOOHOO! If you aren’t familiar with their stamps, you will be!
I made this card for the DT call, which gives you a good idea of  Sweet Stamp Shop‘s style! I used the “Cheeky“, “Too Hip” and “Doggy Dog” sets, along with a bit of layering and masking.
If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you know that I LOVE cute food with faces! Here’s another project that I made for the DT call, using the “Cookie Sprinkles” and “Monogram It” sets.
I know you’re going to love what I’ll be sharing with you over the next three months from Sweet Stamp Shop! Make sure you check ’em out on Facebook, and of course, pop over to the Sweet Stamp Shop blog and sign up for the newsletter!

Are you ready to PARRRRR-TAY with the newest digis at Some Odd Girl?

Happy Tuesday, everybody! It’s new digi release day at Some Odd Girl, and my card for today features the cutest party animal on the beach or in the ocean…meet “Party Crab“!
After coloring him up, I drew in some sand and added some Distress Stickles to give the sand some texture. Glossy Accents give the balloons some extra shine, and you can find the sentiment in the “Party Girl Gwen” clear stamp set!
Did you notice that Orange Bamboo Twine? You can find it in the “Odds & Ends” section of the Some Odd Girl Store! It’s thicker than the baker’s twine you might be familiar with, and I love the pop of bright orange against the navy card stock!
And, I couldn’t resist coloring today’s second new digi, “Mermaid Queen“! I picked one of the sentiments from the “Under the Sea Mae” clear set to go with the image.
So there you have it! Two new digis for oceans of coloring fun! New digis and a new challenge at Some Odd Girl!

Happy Tuesday, everybody! You know that today is new digi day at Some Odd Girl, right? Get ready for some coloring fun with “Jump Rope Tia“! She joins “Skateboard Tobie” today in the Some Odd Girl Store!

Some Odd Girl Stamps supplies: “Jump Rope Tia” digital stamp. Other supplies: patterned paper “Cut & Paste” – American Crafts/Amy Tangerine; sentiment sticker – Simple Stories; enamel dots – My Mind’s Eye.
Isn’t she cute? I had fun coloring her, especially because she reminds me of the fun I used to have as a kid!

I’m not much of an outdoors person anymore, but I spent lots of my younger years in summertime riding a bike, roller skating, or playing outside…I’m much more worried about tripping over something or embarrassing myself if I tried any of that today!

And, there’s a new challenge kicking off today in our Facebook group! Our theme for this 2-week challenge is “Wishy Washi”, so break out your Some Odd Girl images and your washi tape and join us! My card for the challenge features one of the bunnies from the new “Hip Hop Hooray” clear stamp set!

I attached two strips of washi tape to white cardstock, trimmed the tape-covered strips, and folded them to look like ribbon loops!
Don’t forget, our challenges have moved from the Some Odd Girl blog to the new Facebook group! If you’re not a member, pop over and join us! And, for all the latest and ODD-est news, make sure you’ve signed up for the SOG newsletter!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you enjoyed today’s projects!

Hugs,

Lawnscaping Challenge: Try a New Technique!

Hi, everybody! Today, I’m sharing my card for the new Lawnscaping Challenge! The theme for this one is “try a new technique”, and it was certainly a challenge to find a new technique!
I decided on “bokeh stamping”. Bokeh backgrounds are a pretty hot trend in photography, and it’s based on the way the camera lens interprets out of focus points of light. Some photographers add shaped filters on the lens to change the blurred lights to stars, hearts, snowflakes or other shapes they love.
You can find LOTS of examples of bokeh photos on Pinterest, and I found some great examples of bokeh-inspired stamping HERE.
My card features the unicorn and a sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s “Critters Ever After” set, and I used the solid star stamp from the “Summertime Charm” set to create the bokeh effect.
For all the guidelines and details on this challenge, visit the Lawnscaping Challenge blog!
And, I have some related happy news…my “Clean and Simple” card for Lawnscaping Challenge #78 was named the winner, aka the “Queen of Green”! YAY!
Here’s the card again:

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you’re having a wonderful week!
