Special Digi Bundles at Some Odd Girl Stamps!

Hi, everybody! With the holidays just around the corner, we’re doing things a little differently at Some Odd Girl Stamps! Instead of a new digi release today, we’re showcasing special themed digi stamp bundles that you’ll find in the Some Odd Girl Stamps Store!
There are four themed bundles this week, each containing four digi stamps. We’ll have four new and different themed bundles next Tuesday. I have two cards to share with you today featuring stamps from the “Holiday” bundle: “Holiday Pup” and “Christmas Tree Mae.”
Here’s my card with “Holiday Pup.” I also used a wood veneer Hexie Dot as an accent.
My card layout was inspired by the current challenge at retro sketches. I turned the sketch and moved the accents to the right of the main image.
Here’s my second card, featuring “Christmas Tree Mae“:
The layout for this card is inspired by deconstructed sketch #179:
I made a standard-sized card instead of a square card, and made the elements in the sketch larger.
Here’s a look at the stamps included in the “Holiday” bundle: “Santa’s Helper Tobie“, “Holiday Pup“, “Christmas Tree Mae” and “Santa’s List Tia.”
Stop by the Some Odd Girl Store to purchase this set or any of the other special bundles!
Have you hopped with us yet? There’s still time to leave comments and to link up your holiday creations with Some Odd Girl Stamps (new or old) in our special Linky Party! Visit the Some Odd Girl blog for all the details!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hugs,

Ho! Ho! Ho! It’s the Hol-ODD-Day Blog Hop!

Hello Oddies, welcome to Day 1 of our 3rd Annual Hol-ODD-Day Hop!

hop

We Odd Girls have joined together for a fun event for EVERYONE – not just because you get to hop, but because you get to PARTICIPATE and share your own holiday creations!

We mixed things up a bit to bring you a variety of holiday projects that we hope will inspire you. You can comment on all of the blogs, participate by linking your own below (to be eligible to win, be sure you link to us in your post), and comment throughout the event on other people’s links as well!

And there will be PRESENTS! The hop starts Monday, December 8 and runs through Friday, December 12th. We’ll be announcing 3 winners next Wednesday, December 17th, so you have plenty of time to comment between now and then! You have until midnight on Friday, December 12 to link your projects to our Hol-ODD-Day Hop link party.

Today, all of the Odd Girls have projects to share for the big event, so you can visit their blogs to see what they’ve created for the hop. (You can find the full hop list at the bottom of my post.)

I made ornaments using the Snowflake Ornament cut file. You could also use this file to make photo gift tags or dress up a gift bag! I dressed up the ornaments with some Sorbet Sequins, glitter glue, and some Blue Bamboo twine to hang them up! If you don’t have photos to use, you can substitute your favorite holiday Some Odd Girl digi or clear stamp!

The pictures I used are a few years old, but I made one featuring our dog, Midnight, and another with Scott & me:

Here’s the hop list for our awesome team:

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Remember to comment along the way, and link up your holiday-themed projects using Some Odd Girl stamps (new or old)! We can’t wait to see what you make!

My first card features “January” and her little penguin pal. I also used some of the Sparkly Teal Gumdrops to embellish my card.

My second card features “Aspen“. I used some of YNS’s Carribean Punch Glittered Gumdrops to accent a few of the snowflakes on the patterned paper.

You’ll have until December 9 at midnight (EST) to visit all of the blogs in the hop and leave your comments for your chance to win the gift certificate! Winners will be posted on the YNS blog before the DT Dare challenge on December 11!

Your Next Stamp – New Release Preview

Hi, everybody! It’s getting close to new release time at Your Next Stamp, so I have a sneak peek of “Aspen“, one of the new clear stamp sets being released at YNS in December:
I created a little scene on my card. To make the water, I used Glossy Accents over the patterned paper. I cut an arch of white card stock and added glitter glue to create the snow.
Here’s another look at the card front, so you can see that she’s attached her to the card with some foam tape for dimension. The snowflakes are accented with Sparkly Teal Gumdrops.
Be sure to come back tomorrow, when we kick off the December release with a blog hop! You could be one of the lucky winners of a gift certificate to the YNS Store! And, I’ll have a special sale code for your next purchase at Your Next Stamp
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have some crafty time coming up this weekend!

Lawnscaping Challenge #95: White on White (Monochromatic)

Hi, everybody! I can’t believe it’s December already. Where did the year go?
One super thing about December is that my term on the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team starts today!
Since it’s also the first Monday of the month, there’s a new challenge for you on the blog! The theme for this challenge is white on white (monochromatic). Instead of making a “polar bear in a blizzard”, I created a wedding-themed card:
To make the dress, I chose the “Sew Lovely” set, which is also one of my first Lawn Fawn stamp sets. The sentiment is from “Sophie’s Sentiments“.
Now it’s your turn! For all of the details on this challenge, and some gorgeous DT inspiration, visit the Lawnscaping blog. And for further motivation, Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring this challenge…one lucky winner will receive:
I’ll be joining the Facebook Inspiration Team today on the Lawnscaping Challenge Facebook page with MORE challenge inspiration, so make sure you “like” the page so you won’t miss a thing!
Hope your week is off to a great start! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Lawnscaping’s Facebook Team November Inspiration Hop!

Hi, everybody! Although my term with Lawnscaping‘s Facebook Inspiration Team doesn’t officially start until December 1, I thought it would be fun to join the team for their November blog hop, which is on the last Friday of each month.
Our blog hop is sponsored by Spectrum Noir, and they’re giving away a generous prize pack of two sets of alcohol-based markers in BLUE and COOL GRAY!

Make sure you leave comments on all of the blogs in today’s hop, because ONE lucky person will be chosen from ALL of the comments left on the blogs to win the prize! (So, that means the more you comment, the more chances you have to win!)
Here’s the full list of blogs in today’s hop:

Suzanne – you’re HERE!

And, since BLUE and COOL GRAY are inspiring our hop creations, I came up with this card:

I used papers from Lawn Fawn‘s “Let’s Polka” and Peace Joy Love petite paper packs, a sentiment and some snowflakes from “Winter Penguin“, and images from “Winter Bunny” and “Winter Fox“. A few of the snowflakes are from the “Critters in the Arctic” set.
I hope those of you in the US had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday yesterday! We had a very low-key celebration (just me and hubby, since he had to work today), I don’t plan to fight the crazy shopping crowds today, but if you do, I hope you find some great deals!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don’t forget to leave me a comment before you go for your chance to win the super cool prize from Spectrum Noir!

Lawnscaping Challenge 94: Count Me In! (and an announcement!)

Hi, everybody! I’m stopping in today to share my card for the current Lawnscaping challenge! The theme for this one is “Count Me In“, which means to include numbers somewhere on your project.
I picked some of Lawn Fawn’s “Sweater Weather” paper for my card, and chose to make it a school-themed thank you:
To work in the number theme, I made some faux washi tape with numbers from the “Harold’s ABCs” stamp set. I mirror-stamped the apple from the “My Silly Valentine” set, and used stamps from the “So Much To Say” set for the sentiment and the star accent.
For all of the details on this challenge, stop by the Lawnscaping Challenge blog
And, now for my announcement: I’ll be joining the Lawnscaping Challenge Design Team on December 1! I’m over-the-moon excited about being part of this team, and being able to share my creations featuring Lawn Fawn stamps, papers and embellishments!

I’ll have a new card for each challenge (which start on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month), and will be posting a project on the Lawnscaping blog on the 2nd Monday of each month. I’d love it if you stopped by to say hello or to link up your card for each challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! We’re still doing our best to keep warm here…hope the weather’s not too bad where you are!

Two new portrait-style digis debut at Some Odd Girl Stamps!

Hi, everybody! I have two cards to share with you today, and both of the cards feature new Some Odd Girl digital stamps! Both of the new digi stamps are available in the Some Odd Girl Store right now!
I really took my time coloring “Floral Kaylee” so I could practice shadows on her face and on the flowers. I also matched the colors in the image to the Sunshine Sorbet papers I used for the background and the frame. (The strip of polka dot paper is a scrap from my stash.) The sentiment on the card is from the “Geisha Kaylee” clear stamp set.

I decided on a bright color scheme for my second card, which features “Tropical Piper” and a sentiment from the “Garden Gwen” clear stamp set:

I love coloring Piper’s curly hair! (My technique is a simple one: a mixture of squiggles and dots in three or four shades of a similar color.)

Did you notice that I altered a Hexie Dot with a gold glitter gel pen? You can see more ideas and a tutorial on heat embossing Hexie Dots on this tutorial post that I wrote for the Some Odd Girl blog!

There’s still time to get in on the November Linky Party on the Some Odd Girl blog! To join in the fun, just add your latest Some Odd Girl creations to the party with the link tool! You can also share with us in the Some Odd Girl Facebook Group! You can also find Some Odd Girl Stamps oGoogle+TwitterInstagram and Pinterest (#SomeOddGirl)!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you’re staying warm if it’s chilly where you are!
