Tomboy Tia’s brand new in the Some Odd Girl store!

Hi, everybody! Happy Tuesday to you! My card for today features Tomboy Tia, the brand new digi stamp in the Some Odd Girl Stamps store!
I’m very happy with the look of this card! My idea for the design was to mix the girly elements with the tomboy ones, and I found some retired paper in my stash that worked perfectly!
Be sure to stop by the Some Odd Girl blog today for more inspiration with Tomboy Tia, and check out what our guest designer has created with her!
Have you seen the clean and simple cards that I posted yesterday on the Some Odd Girl blog? I made these and three others with the Frenchie Kody and Frenchie Gwen stamp sets, but there’s no coloring involved! These are perfect for when you have a card to make but don’t have time to color an image!

Here’s a peek at two of the cards:

Thanks so much for stopping by today! We had a couple of inches of snow last night, so I’m keeping warm and getting crafty! Hope you’re staying warm if it’s cold where you are!

Lawnscaping Challenge #100: Birthday Celebration!

Hi, everybody! Is there snow on the ground where you are? We had about an inch or so here Saturday night, and the novelty has definitely worn off for me. I’m so ready for spring!
The only good thing about cold weather is that it’s perfect stay indoors and craft weather! So, if it’s cold where you are, I hope you’ll join us for the new Lawnscaping challenge, because we’re celebrating our 100th challenge!

I’m sure you’ve figured out that we have a birthday theme for this challenge, and here’s my take! (I’ve included a list of supplies at the bottom of my post.)

This challenge is sponsored by ever-fabulous and super fantastic Lawn Fawn! We also have something special going on at the Lawnscaping blog to celebrate, so make sure you stop by to see what it is!

It’s a Some Odd Girl spa day with Mae!

Hi, everybody! Hope your week is off to a great start! I have one card to share with you today, and it features “Spa Day Mae“, the newest digital stamp in the Some Odd Girl shop!
I chose the designer paper that I used for this card because I loved the colors. After I finished coloring the image to match the paper, I thought the paper looked a bit too “busy” to me, so I muted it with a panel of vellum.
I heat embossed the sentiment (it’s from Some Odd Girl’s “Renew” clear stamp set) on the vellum to keep the number of layers down and to give a little bit of contrast to the soft look of the vellum.
For more inspiration with “Spa Day Mae,” stop by the Some Odd Girl blog! You should also join us in the SOG Facebook group and show us what you’ve made with Some Odd Girl stamps!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you are able to take some time for yourself and get creative!

My Kraftin’ Kimmie Krafty Krop Challenge Cards

Hi, everybody! I have six more cards to share with you today because I’m entering all of the challenges that Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps posted this weekend in their Facebook group to celebrate 2,000 followers!

Each challenge consists of a card sketch and an optional bonus element, and I’ll also link these in the challenge albums set up in the Kraftin’ Kimmie Facebook group. Several of the images I used are retired, but I am providing links for the stamps that are currently sold at Kraftin’ Kimmie.

Challenge #1 – Use sketch & use distressing; I used “Sarah Shopper.”

Challenge #2: Use sketch and add pink; I used “Takara” (retired image):
Challenge #3: Use the sketch and an animal. I used “Calliope” (retired image):
Challenge #4: Use the sketch and boys/masculine theme. I used “Prince Charming” (retired image):
Challenge #5: Sketch and decorate the inside of the card. I used “Coffee Crusader.”
Challenge #6: Use the sketch and add bling (rhinestones). I used “Tara.”
For the full details on each challenge, or to link up  your entries, visit the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Facebook group and select the Photos section for each challenge’s photo album. The details for the challenge are on the first photo in each album.

Hugs,

Bonjour, Frenchie Gwen!

Bonjour, mes amis! Today I’m sharing a card with the second new clear stamp set at Some Odd Girl, “Frenchie Gwen“! In addition to the main image, the set includes two handwritten calligraphy sentiments, a mini outline heart and an Eiffel Tower stamp.
I created a photo-inspired scene with the Eiffel Tower and Frenchie Gwen stamps:
The sentiment is stamped on vellum with watermark ink then heat embossed with black embossing powder. I also used a Hexie Dot and some Pink Bamboo Twine as accents.
I hope you’ve been enchanted by our new release, which is available now in the Some Odd Girl Store! For more inspiration with Frenchie Gwen, or Frenchie Kody, stop by the Some Odd Girl blog!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Bonjour, Frenchie Kody!

Happy Monday, Oddies! I’m so happy that it’s clear stamp release time again at Some Odd Girl Stamps! We have a French theme this month with our two new clear stamp sets, and we begin by saying “bonjour” to “Frenchie Kody“!
I used some air-mail style papers from my stash for the card and went with a clean and simple style. I heat embossed the sentiment on some vellum and cut it out to pair with the heart stamp.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a new project and the second new clear stamp set in Some Odd Girl Stamps’ February release, and I’m sure you’ll fall in love with it, too! Make sure to stop by the Some Odd Girl blog for more inspiration with Frenchie Kody

Now that it’s February, we’ve kicked off a new Linky Party on the Some Odd Girl blog! To join the month’s party, just add your latest Some Odd Girl creations with the linky tool! Lawnscaping Challenge #99: Clean And Simple

Hi, everybody! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping challenge, and this time, we’re keeping things “clean and simple”! Cards made in the “clean and simple” style keep white space prominent in the design. They are often one layer and have minimal, if any, embellishments.

Keeping that in mind, I chose Lawn Fawn‘s “Good Fortune” stamp set for today’s card, and created a simple scene with the takeout box and fortune cookie stamps. I used a craft knife to cut into the fortune cookie so I could put the fortune inside.
This style is sometimes a challenge for me because I love using patterned papers and layers on my cards. But, I think challenging myself is fun because it breaks me out of my usual crafting routine!

So, whether you’re comfortable with the “clean and simple” style or want to challenge yourself, we want you to play along with us! This week, we’re sponsored by Ellen Hutson! For all the details on this challenge, and to link up your entry, visit the Lawnscaping Challenge blog!

I’ll be back on the Lawnscaping blog next Monday with a new project for my monthly post there, and I hope you’ll come by to say hello!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope your week is off to a great start!

Lawnscaping FIT January Blog Hop!

It’s the last Friday of the month, so that means it’s time for the Lawnscaping Challenge Facebook Inspiration Team’s (FIT) Monthly Blog Hop! You’ve probably arrived from Marina‘s blog, but in case you’re starting here, you’ll find the full hop list at the bottom of my post!

Before I share my card for the hop, I want you to know that we’re welcoming a NEW sponsor to our blog hop: The Ink Road! The Ink Road is an adorable shop run by the fabulous Lara Smith, and it’s filled with all kinds of crafty goodies from stamps (including our beloved Lawn Fawn), to dies, journals and planners! If she doesn’t have it in the store, she can get it! Lara also price matches AND ships internationally.

Be sure to visit The Ink Road and Lara’s blog! We’ll be picking a winner from all of the comments left on our hop to receive a gift certificate to The Ink Road!

This month, the FIT is inspired by light blues, so I made this sweet card featuring stamps from Lawn Fawn’s “Whale You Be Mine” and made some waves with the “Woodgrain Backdrops” set. The papers are from Lawn Fawn‘s “Into the Woods” petite paper pack.

Here’s our full blog hop order:
Suzanne – you’re here!

Before you continue the hop at Yukari‘s blog, be sure to leave a comment for me so you can increase your chance of being the lucky winner of a gift certificate to The Ink Road!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you’re enjoying all of the inspiration in today’s hop and are going to have some time to craft this weekend!
