Paper Smooches SPARKS: Picture Perfect

Greetings! Just popping in today to share my card for the new SPARKS challenge at Paper Smooches! This time, it’s a “Picture Perfect” challenge!

For my card, I used images and a sentiment from the “Woofers & Tweeters” set:

Other supplies: card stock, patterned paper (Echo Park), embossing folder (Lifestyle Crafts/Quickutz), metal dies (Spellbinders), button, twine (The Twinery), Copic markers, Brilliance Graphite Black Ink, orange ink (Stampin’ Up).
To make the background, I die cut the heart from the white card stock, then embossed the panel. Finally, I inked up my brayer and rolled it along the embossed panel. To make sure the heart was placed in the dog’s mouth, I cut a slit with my craft knife, then slipped a corner of the heart underneath.
You may already know that I almost always color my dog stamps grey/black in honor of my dachshund, Midnight. I thought the color scheme for this challenge was perfect!
And here is the photo that inspired my card:
For all of the details on this challenge and for more picture perfect inspiration, stop by the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog! The deadline for this challenge is Sunday, February 3 at 10:59 PM Eastern.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Mabelle R.O. Mondays – Valentine Bear

Hi, crafty friends! I hope you enjoyed our Whimsy and Stars Studio blog hop earlier this month! It makes me so happy to know you are all visiting my blog and that you like what I’ve been sharing with you!

On the 5th of every month, we’ll be previewing the latest releases at Whimsy and Stars Studio. I’m also making the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month during my DT term as “Mabelle R.O. Mondays” on my blog!

Today, I’m featuring “Valentine Bear” and “Dancing Love“, which are both available as digital stamps in the Whimsy and Stars Studio Store! Aren’t they both SO cute? I don’t send out many Valentine cards (I make one for my husband and send one to each of my three nieces), but I love making them!

Also, don’t forget to stop by the Whimsy and Stars Studio store to check out all the ADORABLE love and Valentine digis that Mabelle has for sale, in addition to the two new releases we featured this month! You’re sure to find one (and more) that you’ll fall in love with!

TGF Farm Fresh Friday: Punch It!

Happy Friday, friends of the farm! It’s time for a new Farm Fresh challenge at The Greeting Farm! This week, we’d like you to break out some of your favorite punches or dies and share your TGF creation with us!

I chose to feature “Awareness Anya” again this week! For this challenge, I’m pairing her with a classic heart die and a sentiment from TGF’s “Lovey Dovey” set. This combo would work for a Valentine’s card, a general love card, or to send some words of encouragement to someone battling heart disease.

* * *

If you’re ready to play along with us, here are the details on our challenge:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded to the TGF blog using the InLinkz tool no later than Thursday, January 24th at NOON CST. You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria. If the InLinkz is not working, please leave your link in the comments section.
  • The fabulous prize: A random participant will be selected to win their choice of an in-stock SINGLE RUBBER STAMP OR a 4×6 set! Our prize offering has increased for 2013–we hope you enjoy it!

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by! Visit the Greeting Farm’s blog to check out what the rest of the Showcase Team are sharing with you today!

DeNami Valentine Blog Hop!

Hi! You’ve probably arrived from Ruza‘s blog, and now you’re visiting me (Suzanne)! Thanks for stopping by to see what I’ve created for this month’s DeNami Blog Hop!

My first project is a quick treat packaging idea:
I made a tag for each treat using the heart stamp from DeNami’s Sugar Cookies Trifles stamp set, stamping it once on kraft cardstock, then again on white cardstock in brown ink. I layered the white stamped image on the kraft image, and colored the “sprinkles” with a marker.
The sentiment on each tag was stamped with watermark ink (from DeNami’s Love Sentiments Petit Fours set), then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I used an opaque white marker to create the border, adhered the heart to the tag, then adhered the red strip onto the kraft tag.
Then, I filled a paper cupcake wrapper with candy and placed it in a clear treat bag. The tag is then tied to the clear bag with a combination of red raffia and red/white twine.
Here’s a close-up of one of the bags:
My second project is a pencil topper. I stamped and colored DeNami Design’s Puppy Love Circle stamp, then used a metal die to cut out the image. If you have a coordinating circle or scalloped circle punch, that will work, too!
I rolled a 1/2″ strip of white cardstock around the top of the pencil, securing the end with adhesive. I rolled a glue dot onto the seam of the rolled strip, then adhered the stamped image. Finally, to strengthen the topper, I cut a 2 1/2″ long strip of white cardstock, rolled adhesive on the strip, then lined it up with the back of the topper and adhered it. The extra strip helps to keep the design from curling.
Don’t forget to leave comments on all of the participants’ blogs for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to DeNami Design’s web store! You have until January 9, 2012 at 11:59 pm Pacific Time to leave your comments!
Your next stop on the hop is Tammy‘s blog! I’m sure she’s created something sweet to show you! If you need to get back on track, visit the DeNami blog for a list of all of the hop participants! And be sure to leave them some love to let them know how much you’ve enjoyed the hop!
I hope you’ve been inspired by my projects! Thanks so much for stopping by!
