CPS #188

Here’s another Halloween card, this time using a sketch from Card Positioning Systems (CPS). This week’s challenge is sponsored by In Style Stamps!
I flipped the sketch for my card and used some cute candy corn stamps!
The candy corn stamp is by Studio G and the sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. The papers are from Cosmo Cricket’s Matilda collection.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my card! Check out the examples and the other entries over at CPS!

Moxie Fab World: Languish in Luxurious Challenge

This week’s Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World is totally turquoise (or teal)…whatever you call it, it’s terrific!

Here’s my take:
I was inspired by the color combination and the simple elegance of the trigger photo.
After much deliberation and over-thinking, I went a simple route and came up with this card. I stamped a background with a damask stamp from Impress, embossed a strip of matching cardstock, added some paper flowers with opal gem centers, and stamped a sentiment from the SU “Occasional Quotes” set.
and Take 2:
I made the first card in this post late Wednesday night, and didn’t upload it before I went to bed. After I posted it, it looked similar to the one above mine, so I came up with a second take on the challenge.
Honestly, I don’t look at the other entries in a challenge before I make my card, because I don’t want to be overly influenced by another person’s idea…and it bothers me when that happens anyway. Oh well…
Anyway, thanks SO MUCH for stopping by to look at my cards!

Stampin’ Celebration #24

Hey pumpkins! It’s time for another Stampin’ Celebration Inspiration Challenge:

I used a pumpkin in this week’s entry…this time with googly eyes!
The images and sentiment are by Lawn Fawn, and are stamped with SU Basic Black ink. The pumpkin is colored with Copics (I was lucky to be able to borrow some this past weekend from my buddy Sparkle), and the spider was done with colored pencils.
I embossed some cardstock, border punched the top and ran some silver ink across the embossing to bring out the details. The background paper is from Cosmo Cricket.
Be sure to check out all the spooky inspiration from the design team and the other entrants over at Stampin’ Celebration!

Get Sketchy #59

This week’s Get Sketchy challenge is another fun one! This week’s winner will get a gift certificate for 10 free digis at Tiffany Doodles!
Here’s the sketch:
and here’s my card!
I embossed a piece of SU Concord Crush cardstock for the background and punched some natural white cardstock for the border strips. The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket’s Matilda collection, and the cute web and spider stamps are from Lawn Fawn stamps!
I colored the spider with some Copics and outlined the web with a dimensional glaze gel pen. I also used a stardust pen to accent the stars and to give them a little bit of glimmer!
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!
There are lots more cute cards to check out over at Get Sketchy!

Stampin’ Royalty #40

This week, the Stampin’ Royalty goddesses are challenging you to a color challenge!

Here’s my card!

I used some paper from Cosmo Cricket’s Togetherness collection for the background, stamped the image and sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink, and used pieces of Concord Crush and Tempting Turquoise for the border strips. My other supplies are Copic markers (used to color in the image), ribbon, and clear stamps from Elzybells Art Stamps.

Thanks for looking at my card! Mine is a little late for the deadline, but you can take a look at all of the sweet entries and design team examples on the Stampin’ Royalty blog! Check them out!

Unscripted Sketches #76

Welcome back for another weekly challenge at Unscripted Sketches! This is Arielle’s third sketch, and I found it very fun and versatile to work with!

for my card, I used papers by KaiserCraft and some of my favorite aMuse stamps:

I used Stampin’ Up’s Soft Suede, Real Red and Basic Black to stamp the images and sentiment. The three black gems are by Queen & Co.
Thanks for stopping by! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s Unscripted Sketch!

Stampin’ Celebration #23

This week’s Stampin’ Celebration challenge is all for fall…lots of autumnal inspiration in this week’s set of challenge photos:

Here’s my take:
I had a lot of fun with this challenge! I used some Lawn Fawn stamps for the images and the sentiment. The paper is from Basic Grey’s Pyrus collection…it’s so perfect for fall cards! I colored the images with gel pens, and stamped everything in SU Soft Suede ink. I used a permanent marker to recolor a metallic brad for the flower’s center.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!
The Stampin’ Celebration team has lots of inspiring projects to show you! Check them out!

Get Sketchy #58

After looking at this week’s Get Sketchy challenge, I thought it would be a great inspiration for a Christmas card!
This is what I came up with:
Supplies: Paper (Basic Grey – Jovial, Crate Paper – Snow Day), Leaf Punch (Martha Stewart), Stamp & Ink (Stampin’ Up! – Real Red and Occasional Quotes), Other: Ribbon, adhesive gems, glitter gel pens.
Instead of making a square card, I adapted the sketch for an A2 size card and extended the strips in the sketch to the edges.
To make the wreath, I punched out lots of leaves in a few shades of green. Then I drew a circle on the card where the wreath would be placed, and layered my leaf punches around the circle. I glued rhinestones around the wreath and finished the card with a bow and a sentiment made to look like a tag.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!
There’s lots more inspiration over at Get Sketchy! Check it out!

colourQ #53

I’ve been a bad, bad cardmaker! I’ve been slacking over the last few weeks with getting my cards posted on time for the colourQ challenges!

This time, I made the deadline! These were some pretty challenging colors, too, but beautiful just the same:

Here’s my card! The only color I had to substitute for is the Pacific Point, but what I used is pretty close to the screen colors; I don’t have any Pacific Point cardstock for a true reference point.

The cardstock is all from Stampin’ Up! The sentiment stamp is by aMuse and the image stamp is by CraftSmart (these can commonly be found in the dollar section of a nationwide craft store that starts with M). I spiffed up the cardstock panels with an embossing folder, some watermark ink, and a Technique Tuesday image stamp. SU Chocolate Chip ink was used to do all of the stamping.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!
