Unscripted Sketches #92

Happy Saturday! I’ve got a great sketch for this week’s Unscripted Sketches challenge, courtesy of my fellow DT member Becky:

For my card, I paired this week’s sketch with Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps “Valentine Oliver” and some paper from Basic Grey’s “Eskimo Kisses” line, which is a Christmas collection. I repurposed it for Valentine’s Day:

I colored Oliver with my Copics. The three conversation hearts are stamps I found at Impress Rubber Stamps when I went there a few weeks ago for their stamping night. I also colored them with Copics and added Glossy Accents (although you can’t see it in the picture). I also cut apart an SRM Stickers sentiment and added it to the left side.
Thanks for stopping by! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s Unscripted Sketch!

colourQ Challenge #70

Welcome back for another colourQ challenge! I can’t believe it’s February already!
I believe this week’s set of challenge colors at the colourQ will get you in the mood for love…or maybe cupcakes:
For my card, I paired this week’s colors with “Lantern Rin” from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. I added the pattern to her kimono to tie in with the cherry blossom theme.
I stamped the background with a mini flower stamp from Stampin’ Up! and then colored in each flower. I also added Glossy Accents to the center of each flower to make it more dimensional.

The sentiment sticker is from SRM Stickers. I used foam squares to pop Rin and a few of the flowers up from the background.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s colors!
You should definitely visit the rest of the colourQ Royal Court Design Team to see their beautiful creations…you won’t be disappointed! Their blog links can be found under the smaller photo of this week’s challenge colors!

Unscripted Sketches #91

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch!

I’m a little bummed because one of my favorite TV shows, Supernatural, was pre-empted last night by the network for the Chicago mayoral debate (and I live in WA state). We’ve been waiting for over a month for a new episode, and now, we have to wait another week! Oh well, I guess that leaves me more time to craft and make cards!

If you’re just finding Unscripted Sketches, every Saturday morning we post a sketch for the week. Flip it, rotate it…create a card, a scrapbook page, or anything your imagination comes up with! There’s no right or wrong way, as long as you’re using the Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration and basis of your creation!
And now, I present to you…this week’s sketch!
For my card, I paired this adorable digi stamp from Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps with paper from Basic Grey’s Olivia collection. When I saw this stamp, I couldn’t resist it!

I colored the frogs with Copic markers and used a gold gel pen to color Prince Froggy’s crown. The sentiment is from SRM Stickers; I cut it apart and re-mounted it on matching cardstock to work with my card’s layout.
Thanks for stopping by…I hope you have a “hoppy” weekend! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s Unscripted Sketch!

colourQ #69

Welcome back for another colourQ challenge! This week’s colors are beautiful, and they were definitely a challenge for me!

This is actually the second card I made for the challenge. There are several strong colors in the combo for this week, so I decided to keep my layout and card simple.

Supplies: sentiment (SRM Stickers), cardstock (Stampin’ UP!), markers (Copic), embossing folder (Sizzix), die (Spellbinders), stamp (Impress), hole punch.
You can visit the blogs of the other members of the colourQ Royal Court by using the links at the left under the picture of this week’s challenge colors!

Color Throwdown #126

It’s been a while since I’ve played along with The Color Throwdown. I think the last time I played was before the holidays…eek! But, this week’s color combination, which is based on Basic Grey’s Marjolaine collection, was hard to resist…so I just HAD to play along!

Here are the colors:

Because the challenge was based on the Marjolaine collection, I used papers from the mini pad for my card, which also features Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps’ “Birthday Josh”:

I also used a sentiment from SRM stickers. I can’t believe I had the patience to cut Josh out in detail! I was so scared I’d tear something, but everything stayed together! Whew!
I make so many girl-themed cards that it’s nice to break out of that habit every once in a while and do something more boyish!
Thanks for stopping by!

Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #27

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog to check out my entry for this week’s Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge! Can you feel it? Love IS in the air, and it’s the theme for this week’s SCRS challenge (#27)!

Here’s my card, using the adorable Cupid Emily!
I wanted to go for a softer approach, and to try something different with my coloring, so I stamped Emily on kraft cardstock. Not only does it give a softer look to the image, but it also makes the white gel pen pop when I colored in her wings! (I used a gold gel pen for the bow & arrow.)
To complete the card, I added some lace, adhesive pearls and a rub-on sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!
There’s still time to get linked up for this week’s challenge! The deadline for this week’s challenge is Sunday, January 30 @ 9 PM PST. To be eligible for this week’s prize, which is the ever-popular Cruisin’ Chloe, you need to use a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps image in your creation!

Here are the colors for the challenge:

and here’s my card, featuring Some Odd Girl’s “Mae Day.” I love how this came out! I popped up some of the flowers with foam squares to give it more dimension.

Unscripted Sketches #90

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch!
If you’re just finding Unscripted Sketches, every Saturday morning we post a sketch for the week. Flip the sketch, rotate it…create a card, a scrapbook page, or anything your imagination comes up with! There’s no right or wrong way, as long as you’re using the Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration and basis of your creation!
Here’s the sketch for this week! I rotated it 90 degrees for my card.
I also repurposed a Halloween digital stamp from The Greeting Farm for this Valentine’s/Love card:

Other supplies: cardstock (Bazzill, Stampin’ Up!), Copic markers, letter stamps (Lawn Fawn), ink (Stampin’ Up!), white gel pen.
I thought the digi was too cute not to reuse it for another holiday! The papers I used are from Bo Bunny’s Crazy Love and Crush collections (there’s also a scrap from Basic Grey’s Green at Heart behind the mummy digi)…on a side note, I’m so glad Bo Bunny is starting to make 6×6 paper pads for their collections, since I make so many more cards than I do layouts these days!
Tonight, I’m meeting up with some of the ladies from my monthly stamping group for an evening of inky fun at a local stamping store! It should be a blast!
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s Unscripted Sketch!

Sparkle Creations Challenge #26

I love the inspiration photo for this week’s Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps challenge and I thought Valentine Oliver would be great to use on my card! The prize for one lucky random winner will be the sweet Suitcase Ruby stamp!

I colored Oliver in similar shades to some Basic Grey Bittersweet paper that I had in my stash:

Other supplies: sentiment stamp (Stampin’ Up!), acrylic buttons, Copics, ink (aMuse and Memento), copper acrylic paint, corner rounder, cardstock.
The three little heart accents are mini clear buttons that I colored with a permanent marker. I love being able to alter supplies that I have to coordinate with my cards!
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card!
There’s still time to play along! The deadline for this week’s challenge is Sunday, January 23 @ 9 PM PST. To be in the running for the prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your entry!
