As the Guest Designer this month for Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, I was able to play with the two new releases for this month a little early! HOORAY!

The first sneak peek for this month’s release is Rainy Day Ruby…here’s the card I made with her!

I colored Ruby with Copics and added some Stickles to the raindrops to make them sparkle! The “wishing you sunshine” sentiment is also included when you buy the stamp!

colourQ #79

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge! We’ve got another stunning set of colors for you to play with this week!
Here’s my card! The main image is from the “So Sweet” stamps from My Mind’s Eye (Stella and Rose, Mabel collection).
I colored the lampshade with three of the challenge colors after stamping the image in black. I think the papers I used were from the various mini pads of the Stella and Rose collection.
Thanks for stopping by!

SCRSC – Neutrals with a splash of color

Hi there! In case you’re visiting from the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps blog, I’m Suzanne Bier and I’m excited to be Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps’ guest designer for April!

I’ve been paper crafting for as long as I can remember, and I discovered Sparkle Creations stamps last year when I met Sparkle at my monthly stamping group!

I love her stamps, and she is someone I’m definitely glad to call my friend! I’ll get to see her this weekend at our monthly meetup, and I think there’s some fun planned for this weekend to celebrate her birthday!

This week’s Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge is to use neutrals with a splash of color on your creation!

For my card, I used one of my favorite SCRS stamps, “Street Corner Josh.” I think I’ve used him and Cafe’ Lucy on more of my cards than any other! Maybe it’s because I love coffee so much?

I decided to use kraft shades for the neutral and green as my splash of color:

Other supplies: Copic markers, Making Memories letter stickers, buttons, twine, paper from Bo Bunny’s Vickie B and Basic Grey’s Kraft Basics collection, cardstock.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I’m excited to watch Castle tonight on ABC with my husband! It’s one of the shows I’ve gotten him hooked on, and it’s another way for us to spend time together!
Oh, don’t forget to get your entry linked up at the Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps blog! The deadline for this week’s challenge is Sunday, April 10th @ 9 PM PST!

Moxie Fab World’s "In My Beautiful Balloon" Challenge!

Hot air balloons seem to be a popular trend…they’ve been appearing on jewelry, patterned paper, wall art, and, of course cards and craft projects!

About a month ago, I began experimenting with drawing my own digital stamps, and one of the first that I drew was a hot air balloon because I had noticed them in more and more papercrafting articles and other craft web sites.

The latest challenge over at the Moxie Fab World blog features these stylish soarers — the “In My Beautiful Balloon” Challenge!

Cath, owner and author of Moxie Fab World and trends editor for Paper Crafts magazine, assembled some lofty examples of moxie fab balloon sightings as inspiration for the challenge! This one is my favorite…I love the simple, bright graphics on this card by Julie Campbell, which appears in the March/April issue of Paper Crafts magazine!

To see all of the inspiring photos that Cath chose for this challenge, visit the Moxie Fab World blog!
So, for my card, I drew the clouds and balloon seperately in a graphic design program. Then, I printed a bunch of the clouds, cut them out and arranged them on the background, which uses paper from My Mind’s Eye.
Next, I printed and paper pieced the balloon and its basket with papers from We R Memory Keepers and Basic Grey. Then, I typed the sentiment, printed it, and completed the card by accenting the heart on the balloon with Stickles.

I’m hoping to draw more digis and eventually open my own web or Etsy store…hopefully by the end of the year! I still need to come up with a company name and figure out a few other things, but it’s definitely in the works!
Thanks so much for stopping by to look at my card!
There’s still time to play along with the “In My Beautiful Balloon” challenge, so visit the Moxie Fab World blog, get all the details, and get linked up with your entry before midnight on April 18!

Some Odd Girl Digi Stamps Challenge – Pleat Something!

The latest challenge over at Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps is to pleat something on your entry, so I pleated a strip of paper and sewed it like ribbon onto my card! The SOG digi image on my card is “Sweet Kaylee” (a retired digi):

I colored Kaylee with Copics and used papers from Basic Grey’s “Hello Luscious” collection. The letter stickers are by Cosmo Cricket. I layered paper flowers and used a brad as a center in each one.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Visit the Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps blog to check out the other entries, to see what the design team created, and to get linked up with your own entry!

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge!
We had a very busy weekend travelling down to Portland for a wedding on Saturday. I also got to do some shopping at the CKC convention on Friday! It’s always fun to travel, but it’s so nice to come back home!
Now, for this week’s challenge! The colors for this week sure are a treat to work with!
I paired this week’s colors with an adorable stamp set from The Stamps of Life, “birthday4Cookie.”

The stamped images were colored with Copics. I embossed some kraft cardstock for the background, added some Early Espresso cardstock, and die-cut the stamped area for the main section of the card.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
The other members of the ColourQ Royal Court have more tasty treats for you! You can visit their blogs by clicking on the links at the left under this week’s challenge photo!  And don’t forget to link up your delicious creation at the colourQ blog!

Unscripted Sketches #99

Happy Saturday and welcome back for another Unscripted Sketch!

Next week, we’ll be celebrating our 100th sketch and 2-year blogiversary! I hope you’ll join us! We’ll be offering a prize from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps as part of the celebration! Don’t miss the fun!

If you’re just finding Unscripted Sketches, every Saturday morning we post a sketch for the week. Flip the sketch, rotate it…create a card, a scrapbook page, or anything your imagination comes up with! There’s no right or wrong way, as long as you’re using the Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration and basis of your creation!
Now, on to this week’s sketch:

Here’s my card! I rotated the sketch and used papers from Bo Bunny’s Crazy Love collection, Basic Grey’s Hopscotch and a digi stamp from Some Odd Girl. The digi image only has one scoop of ice cream, so I printed the scoop two more times and cut them out to make a stacked treat! I created the sentiment in Microsoft Publisher.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a fantastic weekend and can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s sketch…get linked up here!
The rest of the Unscripted team has some sweet examples for you: Alanna, Angy, Arielle, Becky, CherylAnn, Debbie, Gardenia, Jenny, Linda, Sarah Kaye and Stephanie!

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge (#77)!

It’s a busy week for me…I have errands to run today, CKC Portland shopping on Friday and we’ve got a wedding to attend this weekend! I really hope the weather cooperates! It’s been warming up slowly, so maybe spring is really on the way?

And as always, we’ve got some more gorgeous colors for you to play with this week:

I paired this week’s colors with a stamp from Imaginisce, paper from Basic Grey’s Marjolaine collection and a sentiment that I typed:

I colored the main image and sentiment with my Copics and added some heart bling to the camera. The die cut shapes were done with Spellbinders dies.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s challenge colors!

Some Odd Girl Digi Stamps: Think Spring Challenge!

For this “Some Odd Girl Only” digi stamp challenge, each entry must use a Some Odd Girl digital image with the theme of SPRING!

Here’s my card, featuring “Lounging Kaylee”:

The paper I used is from Memory box, with some scraps of other papers to make the circles/flower. The flower accent is by Basic Grey, and the rub-on sentiment is from Pebbles. I colored Kaylee with Copics.
Thanks for stopping by!
This SOG only challenge runs until March 22nd! Visit the Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps blog to get linked up with your entry!
