CPS 218

Thanks for stopping by to look at my entry for this week’s Card Positioning Systems (CPS) sketch challenge! Here’s the sketch for this week…sponsored by Lawn Fawn Stamps!

Here’s my card! I used paper from Jillibean Soup’s “Atomic Soup” collection and a strip of paper from Basic Grey’s “Wander” collection.

Other supplies: robot stamp (DeNami Design Rubber Stamps), typed sentiment, Copic Markers, glitter gel pen, Glossy Accents, journal card (Jillibean Soup), mini brads (Tim Holtz)
I didn’t have matching atomic symbols, so I drew them in a graphic design program and added re-colored adhesive rhinestones to the centers.
If you’d like to play along with this week’s CPS challenge, visit the blog for all the details!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #117

I think this is the first time I’ve entered a Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, but it definitely won’t be the last! The sketch this week was so tempting, I had to try it…
My card is slightly different than what I usually make…it measures 3.5″ x 5.5″ and uses a stamp from Whiff of Joy’s Medieval Collection, “Warrior Battling Charlie”:
I didn’t like the way his shield came out when I first colored it, so I stamped another, colored it and used foam squares to place it on top of the other one. I also used Glossy Accents on his armor, sword and shield.
Instead of putting another element in the place where the branch is on the original sketch, I typed the sentiment and glued it on the contrasting paper strip.
Thanks for stopping by!

colourQ #85

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge! Here are this week’s colors:
This week’s color combo is so very far out of my usual palette, but I took on the challenge and kept my card simple!
All of the Stampin’ Up! cardstocks I used are in the challenge colors, and the buttons are from my stash. I used twine to “sew” the buttons and a Sizzix embossing folder. The sentiment is from My Little Shoebox.
Still looking for more inspiration with this week’s challenge colors? You’re in luck! The rest of the colourQ Royal Court have some phenomenally gorgeous examples to show you!

Moxie Fab World’s Chevron Chic Challenge!

One of the latest challenges at the Moxie Fab World blog is to incorporate chevron stripes into your papercrafting projects! Here’s an example of some fabric that’s definitely chevron chic, and was one of the inspiration examples for this challenge:

Here’s my card!

Supplies: paper (My Mind’s Eye), tiny screwhead brads (Tim Holtz), font (Punch Label via the Internet), colorbox cat’s eye ink for edging, metal washer, twine, craft knife, cardstock.
Instead of cutting letters out of the patterned paper, I hand-cut the letters into the paper and saved the middles to put back in. First, I printed the letters on paper, used temporary adhesive, then used a craft knife to cut the letters out. I adhered some white cardstock behind the patterned paper, then finished the card with coordinating accents.
I typed the sentiment, printed it and added Glossy Accents to make it look more like label tape.
So now that you’ve seen the card I’m entering for the “Chevron Chic Challenge” in the Moxie Fab World, there’s still time for you to be inspired and play along, too!
This challenge runs until midnight EDT on Monday, May 30! So check out more inspiring examples of chevron chic trendiness at the Moxie Fab World blog and get your creation linked up!
Thanks for stopping by!

colourQ #84

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge (#84)!

I thought this week’s colors would be perfect for a masculine/boy card:

So I made one!

The stamp I used is from The Greeting Farm’s Oliver & Amelia set “Happy Day.” I colored the image with Copics, used decorative scissors to cut around the edges, then mounted it on a piece of embossed cardstock. The papers I used were various scraps from my stash. I typed, colored and cut out the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by!
You can check out what the rest of the colourQ Royal Court has created with this week’s colors by visiting the colourQ blog or by clicking on their blog links to the left under this week’s set of challenge colors!
I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s colourQ! Don’t forget to link up your entry at the colourQ blog before SUNDAY, May 15 at noon CST, to be considered for this week’s colourQueen!

CPS 217

Hi! Thanks for stopping by to look at my entry for Card Positioning Systems (CPS) sketch #217! This week’s challenge is sponsored by Paper Smooches!

Here’s the sketch for this week:

and here’s my card:

Supplies: digital stamp (Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps – Roller Mae), paper (Basic Grey Lauderdale, Green at Heart, Life of the Party), Copic markers, Stickles (Star Dust and Fruit Punch), button brads (Making Memories), foam squares, embossing folder (Sizzix), typed sentiment.

Card Patterns – Sketch 114

Hi! Thanks for stopping by to look at my card inspired by Card Patterns’ Sketch #114!
Here’s the sketch for this week’s challenge:

and here’s my card! I’ve had this little guy colored for a while (The Greeting Farm’s “Soldier Ian“), but I’ve been saving him for a great sketch like this one!

The paper is from two different Basic Grey collections (Origins and Wander). Soldier Ian is colored with various Copic markers, and the digi camo pattern was added freehand. I typed the sentiment and hand-cut the heart, which is spiffed up with Glossy Accents. The border punch I used is by Martha Stewart crafts, and the embossing folder is by Sizzix/Tim Holtz. A few copper brads from my stash finish the card.
Thanks again for stopping by! This challenge runs until Friday, May 13th at 11:59PM EST, so there’s still time to link your entry at the Card Patterns blog!
