TGF FFF: It’s Hip to Be Square!

Happy Friday, everybody! Are you ready for a new Farm Fresh Friday challenge at The Greeting Farm? There are so many fun possibilities with our theme for this week! I’m sure you’ll have a blast!

We’re calling this week’s challenge “Hip to be Square”…and we’d like you to include three squares somewhere in your design! The Farmers have come up with lots of fun designs with this theme, so make sure you stop by The Greeting Farm’s blog to see them all!
For my card today, I chose Ian from the “Picture Perfect” set. My three squares were created with parts of “Anya Treats” and “Anya Strolls“. I thought it would be fun to show what subjects Ian has been snapping!

  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz no later than Thursday, September 19th at NOON CST.
  • You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria. (If the InLinkz tool is missing, feel free to link your submission URL in the comment section!)

The Greeting Farm Preview: Royal Cutie Pies

Hi, everybody! It’s my turn to be part of the previews for the September release at The Greeting Farm! Today, we’re wrapping up our previews (before the Release Day hop, of course!) with another new set, “Royal Cutie Pies”!

Here are my projects for today! The first is a card, which features one of the “Royal Cutie Pies” and one of the sentiments included with the set:

My second project is an acrylic pillow box. I used the other image in the set to accent the box wrap. Since the box is aimed at sharing something sweet, I filled it with individual drink mix pouches.

So, what do you think? Would you like to win this stamp set? You’ll find the full list of the design team members participating in today’s preview at The Greeting Farm’s blog!

Stop by each designer’s blog to check out their preview creations, leave a lovely comment for each one (and stop by the TGF blog to leave a comment there and let us know you’ve visited all the blogs), and we’ll pick a random winner from all the comments!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure to also join us on Sunday, September 1, for our new release blog hop, when the new stamps are available in the TGF Store!

TGF Farm Fresh Friday: Anything Goes!

Happy Friday, everybody! There’s a new Farm Fresh Friday challenge at The Greeting Farm today, and it’s an all-time favorite: Anything Goes!

I’m sharing a different type of project today: I made a pendant with the new Frou Frou Birthday stamp and some shrink plastic. The original image measures about 3.5″ wide x 4″ high. After heating the plastic to shrink the image, it’s about 1.5″ wide x 1.75″ high.

I colored the underside of the pendant with Copics. Since alcohol-based markers don’t work well with Staz-On ink, coloring the underside is your best bet. The colors also intensify when you shrink the image down, so don’t worry if the colors don’t come out as dark as you like when you’re coloring.

Would this be something that you’d like to see as a photo tutorial? I have some DT post days coming up soon and I’ll put one together if you’re interested!

A colorful combination for Garden Variety Tuesday!

Hi, everybody! It’s my turn to post on The Greeting Farm’s blog and choose a theme for Garden Variety Tuesday!

I picked a color combo for today’s challenge, and here’s the easel card I made with “Frou Frou Birthday“! The flower tile accent and sentiment are from the “Layer Cake” clear stamp set.

I chose the color combo based on one of my favorite paper collections, “Park Bench” by Fancy Pants:

Park Bench

and created the color swatches for the challenge!

Stop by The Greeting Farm blog today to find out all of the details on this challenge and to play along with us!

TGF Farm Fresh Friday: The Great Outdoors!

Keeping it Clean and Simple for GVT!

Greetings, Friends of the Farm! It’s time for a new Garden Variety Tuesday challenge, and this week, we’re keeping it Clean and Simple (also known as CAS).
So, what makes a card “clean and simple”? For one thing, it’s an easy card to reproduce. There aren’t lots of layers; it’s often a one layer card, but can sometimes is two layers. There’s only one focal point, and little or no embellishments. It contains up to three colors, or possibly three different papers.
I chose “Cheeky Lessons” for today’s card. I kept my paper choices simple, only using three, but one solid and another subtle pattern for the mat.
My main image is the focal point of the card, and I kept embellishments to a minimum, with just the ribbon separating the two sections (and those three brads in the corner, which probably don’t need to be there). I stamped my sentiment on the solid paper so that I didn’t have to add another layer.
For all the details on this challenge, and to link up your entry, please visit The Greeting Farm Blog!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don’t forget that we’ll be previewing the August TGF release next week…I hope you’ll celebrate with us!
Hugs,

TGF Garden Variety Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday, y’all! It’s time for a new Garden Variety Tuesday at The Greeting Farm!
After seeing all of Farmer Joni‘s lovely no-line coloring, I am taking the plunge this week and trying it myself!
I am always skeptical when it comes to coloring things this way, but I’m pretty happy with the finished product! I always keep a “regular” stamped image of what I’m no-line coloring in front of me as I color. It helps to guide me as I’m trying to figure out the parts of the image.
TGF images are perfect for those of you who have been wanting to give no-line coloring a try. Starting with a very detailed image will quickly overwhelm you…start with something simpler and familiar and give it a try! I use Memento Angel Pink to stamp images when I’m no-line coloring instead of traditional black ink.
I went a bit retro on today’s card with “Wild West Anya”, who has ridden off into the sunset at The Greeting Farm (she’s retired). I also used TGF’s Polaroid die, which was just released this month as part of a 3-die set:
In case you haven’t guessed, today’s GVT is a color combo challenge:
