Some Springtime Inspiration at Whimsy and Stars Studio!

Hi, everybody! I’m up on the Whimsy and Stars Studio blog today sharing this card! I hope you’ll pop by to say hi!

The featured image is “Easter Egg Lamb” and it’s available for instant download, along with all of the other images in the Whimsy and Stars Studio Store! I colored everything first with Copic markers, then I gave the lamb some extra fluff with white Liquid Applique’ and a heat tool. The egg is accented with Glossy Accents and Stickles.

Hi, crafty friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! We did a few things around the house, but I also found some time to catch up on some crafting time, too!

I’m stopping by today to share a card that I made with a super-cute and super-sweet digi stamp from Whimsy and Stars Studio. This image is “Spring Boy & Girl“, and I colored it to match my husband and me.

Hi, everyone! It’s time for a new Design Team season at Whimsy and Stars Studio, and today we’re celebrating Mabelle’s May release with a DT showcase and blog hop! You should have arrived from Melissa‘s blog, and now you’re visiting me (Suzanne)!

This month’s new digi stamp release is “Garden Joy,” and she’s perfect for celebrating springtime and Mother’s Day!

I always think of my Mom when I color images like these…she has always been a whiz when it comes to gardening. Unfortunately, I didn’t inherit her talent, because my thumb is brown instead of green…LOL

Our theme this month is “Spring Fling”, and I chose to feature “Blossom” on my card today:

It’s cherry blossom time here in northern Virginia and D.C., so I let that be my guide to coloring “Blossom” and picking papers for the card. I’m so glad I had these papers in my stash!

Whimsy & Stars Studio March Blog Hop!

Welcome, friends! We’re springing into March with some fabulously fun and lovely creations with this month’s Whimsy and Stars Studio’s New Release Blog Hop!

You probably arrived here from Melissa’s blog, and now you’re visiting me (Suzanne)!

This month, Mabelle is releasing two new digis in the Whimsy and Stars Studio etsy store: “Spring Bees” and “Welcome Spring!”

I chose “Spring Bees” for my card! I chose some happy, bright paper and colored the bees to match. I added some Stickles to their wings to give them a little extra sparkle!

Other supplies: patterned paper (“Hello Sunshine” mini pad – Bo Bunny), sentiment stamp (“Signature Greetings” – PaperTrey Ink, twine (Whisker Graphics), lace, Copic markers, photo die (“Insta Love die set” – Your Next Stamp), button, sewing machine.

To make the bees’ wings pop out from the frame, I lightly drew pencil lines around the image where the frame would cut, then fussy cut the parts of the wings (plus a little extra because I used thick paper) that would be outside the die’s cut line.

When I ran the paper through my Big Shot with the metal die, I positioned the wings on top of the die, so the wings wouldn’t get cut. The rest of the image was positioned underneath the die so it would cut correctly. Any remaining pencil lines were erased.
