Two challenges, one card!

Hi, everybody! I’m playing along with the current Lawnscaping challenge, which is to use patterned paper on your project.

I used papers from Lawn Fawn’s retired “Into the Woods” and “Bright Side” petite paper packs and the new “Love You a Latte” clear stamp set for my card.
For all of the details on this challenge, or to link up your entry before the deadline (Wednesday, October 15), stop by the Lawnscaping Challenge blog
I’m also entering my card in the current challenge at retro sketches. This week’s challenge is to pick one of your favorite sketches from the retro sketch archives to inspire your entry. I chose retro sketch #86. Here’s a look at that sketch:

Hi again! Just wanted to stop in again this evening to share my card for the current retro sketches challenge (#64)!

I’m featuring “Tropical Mae” from Some Odd Girl on my card:

Supplies: patterned paper (“Sweet Threads” and “What’s Up” 6×6 pads – Basic Grey), cardstock (Stampin’ Up), assorted Copic markers, digital stamp (“Tropical Mae” – Some Odd Girl), sentiment stamp (Hero Arts), watermark ink, white embossing powder, square Spellbinders die, opaque white marker.

But wait, there’s more!
In other news, I made it to the Top 15 of the “Odd Idol” contest going on at Some Odd World (the ning group for Some Odd Girl Stamps)!
Voting for Round 3 begins on Friday, May 24, and while I can’t give any hints or clues as to which project is mine, I can guarantee that whichever project you vote for will be fabulous! The competition gets tougher in each round, and all of the contestants are creating some ah-mah-zing projects!

Just a heads-up: there is a short registration process to become part of the SOG ning group, and then you’ll be in!

I appreciate you taking time out of your day to visit my blog…thanks so much for stopping by today!

retro sketches #29

Hi there, crafty friends! Just popping up to share my card for this week’s retro sketches challenge (#29)!

I made this one Saturday night at a stamping get-together with my friend, Sparkle! It combines my love of “food with faces” and one of my favorite paper pads — “On the Sunny Side” by My Mind’s Eye!

other supplies: stamp set (“Wake Up” – Paper Smooches), Copic markers, ink (Brilliance Graphite Black), kraft card stock (PaperTrey Ink).
Here is the sketch that inspired my card:
This challenge runs until Friday, September 21 at 11:59 PM. For all the details, visit the retro sketches blog!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ll be back in a little while with my “day 3” previews of this month’s releases at The Craft’s Meow!

retrosketches #14

Hi! Just a quick post to share my card for this week’s retrosketches challenge!

I wanted to use some rub-ons from my stash for the stars, but they were red and didn’t quite match the softer colors of the paper.

I found they looked better if I applied them and flipped the jar image over afterwards…that way they had a white center, and the red was only on the outline! I added Stickles on top of the acetate to give them some sparkle!

Supplies: image stamp (American Crafts – Dear Lizzy), alphabet stamps (Paper Smooches), patterned paper (American Crafts – Dear Lizzy), rub-on stars (Basic Grey), acetate, twine (Whisker Graphics), adhesive rhinestones, Copic marker (YG68), ink (StazOn, Brilliance Graphite Black), Stickles, kraft cardstock.
and here’s the retrosketch:
