Take a trip to the tropics with the new digis at Some Odd Girl Stamps!

Well, hello there, everybody! It’s Tuesday, so you know what that means…new digis at Some Odd Girl Stamps! We have a tropical theme this week, starting with “Hula Mae”! I loved coloring her, because I got to practice more tanned skin tones and black hair!
To make the background, I chose a journaling card that would work for the sky and punched a circle for the sun. Then, I stamped two rows of waves from the “Under the Sea Mae” clear stamp set. The sand was made with my usual technique of tearing a strip of kraft card stock followed by a thin layer of Distress Stickles (Antique Linen) on the kraft card stock.
This next card is dear to my heart. As soon as I saw that we had “Jellyfish” as our second new digi for this week, I wanted to do something fun with them. One of them looks like he’s saying HI, but I wasn’t sure what to do with the other. I love the sentiment, but needed a way to make one of the jellyfish funny. Lucky for me, the pack of stickers also had a mustache that was perfect!
I can’t stop smiling whenever I look at this card! It reminds me of fun times with my pal Thanh. Here’s one of the pictures we took at the Elmer’s booth at CHA this past January:
WOOD you like to be inspired by some fabulous creations combining Some Odd Girl Stamps and ARC Crafts‘ wood veneers? All this week, Some Odd Girl Stamps is partnering with ARC Crafts for an awesome event! Pop over to the Some Odd Girl blog for all the fun! We were BLOWN AWAY by the versatility of their wood veneer products, and I know you will be, too!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope your week is going well so far!

Some Odd Girl Stamps has the cutest School Supplies!

Hi, everybody! Welcome back to the second day of the new release at Some Odd Girl Stamps!
I have to say, my favorite part of every new school year when I was growing up was buying school supplies! From the cutest pencils, notebooks and folders to the coolest Trapper Keeper binder, I loved picking out everything! I still have a love for school/office supplies even though my school days are long gone!

I’m sure it’s no surprise that I had a blast putting faces on the stamps in this month’s release. Here’s my first card with “School Supplies“:

I also used the A+ stamp from the “Teacher Mae” set…I love how both sets work so well together!
Lucky for me, this set has a happy face, so I can add smiles to the pencil and crayon stamps and create my own happy notebook paper! (Did you notice my happy ruler from yesterday’s post?)

And why have just one crayon when you can have a whole rainbow of happy colors?

Here’s a peek at the “School Supplies” set; it’s a perfect companion to the new “Teacher Mae” set!

You can find more inspiration with “School Supplies” AND “Teacher Mae” at the Some Odd Girl blog, and both of the new clear sets are available NOW in the Some Odd Girl Store!
We’re halfway through July, but there’s still time to link up your Some Odd Girl projects with this month’s Linky Party on the Some Odd Girl blog! Class is in session with Teacher Mae at Some Odd Girl Stamps!

Hi, everybody! It’s time for a new clear stamp release at Some Odd Girl Stamps, and we’re getting a head start on the new school year with “Teacher Mae“, the first of two new sets available today in the Some Odd Girl Stamps Store!
After I colored the main image, I chose one of the sentiments from the set and made a chalkboard, because you can’t have class without one! (And of course, Mae gets a gold star because she’s so wonderful!)
I’m trying to work on different clothing patterns, so I attempted a tweed skirt. I think I’ll use smaller lined pens next time to get a finer pattern.
I also couldn’t resist making a sticky note holder with the ruler stamp in the set. (There’s a little sneak peek at tomorrow’s set…I love that I could put a happy face on the ruler!)

You can find more inspiration with “Teacher Mae” at the Some Odd Girl blog, and both of the new clear sets are available NOW in the Some Odd Girl Store!
Even though we’re in the middle of July, there’s still time to link up your Some Odd Girl projects with this month’s Linky Party on the Some Odd Girl blog! All you have to do is link up your latest Some Odd Girl projects for a chance at being featured, or winning some fabulous prizes! (You’ll find the linky tool on the right side of the SOG blog!)
Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by today! I’ll be back tomorrow with more new release projects! Hope your week is off to a wonderful start!

Digi Release Tuesday at Some Odd Girl Stamps!

Happy Tuesday, everybody! I’m back with a couple of cards featuring this week’s new digital stamp release at Some Odd Girl Stamps
This week’s release is near and dear to my heart because it’s an idea that I submitted to Kristy a few months ago! My husband is into history, particularly the Crusades and Renaissance periods. He is part of a few re-enactment groups that get together across the country during the year, and even has his own suit of armor!
I’m always on the lookout for knight-related stamps that I can use to make cards for him, so when Kristy asked for stamp ideas in the Some Odd Girl Facebook group, my first instinct was to suggest a knight in shining armor, and I was thrilled when I saw that he was being made into a digi stamp!
Here’s my first card, which features another one of my pocket scrapbooking cards that I made with Some Odd Girl digis! It’s more of a close-up of “Knight Kody“, and I also used one of the new digital “Knight Sentiments” on the card.
I had a bit of fun with this next card, because it’s the one I made for Scott for his birthday. You also get a better view of the full “Knight Kody” image! He LOVED it, and keeps it on his bedside table. I managed to borrow it while he was at work to take a picture for my blog post.

I resized the “Sweater Pup” digi stamp and colored it to match our dog, who also makes an appearance on each birthday card that I make for Scott. I drew the paw print on the sweater to make it look like he’s wearing a tunic. The sentiment is from the “Big Wishes Mae” clear stamp set.

It’s a magical release at Sweet Stamp Shop!

Well, hello there! Glad you could join me for today’s new release celebration at Sweet Stamp Shop! Our July release is a MAGICAL one, and you’ll soon see why, because I have LOTS of fun stuff to share with you!  I have three cards, starting with this one, which I made with the new “Dragon” clear set:

I also used stamps from the “Cookie Sprinkles” set for the large heart, “Cheeky” for the small heart, and the “Alpha Tabs” set to stamp the custom sentiment.
For my second card, I stamped the stars from the “Enjoy Calligraphy” set with watermark ink on a piece of vellum and heat embossed the design to soften the background paper. I stamped one of the sentiments on black card stock to give it a chalkboard look.
For my third card, I made a scene with the stars from the “Enjoy Calligraphy” and “Princess” sets, then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on vellum.
I drew and colored a hill, then colored and fussy cut the castle to complete the scene. To help line up the castle and flags, I also stamped the castle on the background paper. That way, I didn’t have to worry about cutting the flag poles out, too!
Here’s another look at the new sets in today’s release at Sweet Stamp Shop: “Princess“, “Dragon“, “Enjoy Calligraphy” and “Royal Wish“:
AND, the new “On Cherry Street” kit is being included in today’s release celebration, too!
So, what about the new kits? Here’s some info:
  • No monthly subscription – buy only the kits you like!
  • It’s here to stay (as permanent as any other Sweet Stamp Shop product has been…and if you miss out on July’s kit, there will be more of the same kit in the store in August, along with a new monthly kit)!
  • It’s 100% made in the U.S.A.! From the wood die cuts to the clear stamps to the printed paper, everything in this kit is purchased from small businesses in the United States!
  • Every kit is filled with more than 35 pieces — from an exclusive stamp set found only in the kit, to pocket style cards and wood die cut embellishments, you’ll find so many creative possibilities with each kit!
  • The price of each kit is $15.95 — a great deal in itself!

Tomorrow, the new stamp sets will be available in the Sweet Stamp Shop for $7.95 each, and the kit will sell for $15.95.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my cards for today’s new release celebration! For more fun, join Sweet Stamp Shop on Facebook or Pinterest, and follow the Sweet Stamp Shop blog for tutorials, inspiration and MORE!

It’s digi release day at Some Odd Girl Stamps!

Happy Tuesday, everybody! It’s time for a new digital stamp release at Some Odd Girl Stamps, and this week, we’re glad to welcome “Best Friends Tobie and Tia“!
Because the main image has both a boy and a girl, I picked some paper that was more neutral in pattern but still had some girly elements to it. These are from Basic Grey’s 6×6 “Mon Ami” paper pad designed by Kelly Purkey.
You’ll find “Best Friends Tobie and Tia” NOW in the Some Odd Girl Stamps Store! For more digi stamp release day inspiration, stop by the Some Odd Girl blog!

It’s New Digi Tuesday at Some Odd Girl Stamps!

Happy Tuesday, everybody! I’m sharing a card and some pocket scrapbooking cards that I made with the new “Beautiful Amazing Fabulous” sentiment cutfile pack at Some Odd Girl Stamps!
Instead of using the files with my die cut machine, I changed them from solid to outline in Photoshop Elements, and paired them with some Some Odd Girl digital stamps! I used one of the pocket cards (each one measures 3″ x 4″) to make this card:
By changing the graphic from a solid to an outline, I could color the sentiment to match the digi.

Here’s a handy reference graphic to show how it’s done! You can also click on the photo for a larger view:

Here’s a look at the greeting card with the pocket scrapbooking cards that I made with the sentiment pack and “Singer Kaylee“, Hula Hoop Mae” and “Formal Mae“! If you’re not into pocket scrapbooking (I haven’t done it, but I want to), you can see how easy it is to use a pocket card to make a greeting card!

And there you have it! The newest “Beautiful Amazing Fabulous” sentiment cutfile pack from Some Odd Girl stamps and some inspiration to get your creative mojo flowing!

Did you know that Some Odd Girl Stamps is partnering with Chic Tags for a very chic and of course, totally ODD blog hop? It all kicks off at the Some Odd Girl blog on Wednesday, June 25 with projects galore from members of the Chic Tags and Some Odd Girl design teams! New stamps have arrived at Sweet Stamp Shop!

Hi, everybody! It’s time for another new clear stamp release at Sweet Stamp Shop! I have cards with three of the new sets to share with you today, so let’s grab our sleeping bags and kick things off with the “Campout” set:
Now, I’ll be the first to admit the outdoors doesn’t feel so “great” to me. I don’t think I’d go camping unless I had a nice little trailer like this one! I chose pastel colors to go with the retro style of the camper, and whipped up a wedding card. (As an added feature, the camper is mounted on a wobble spring.) Here’s a closer look:
My second card for today’s new release is this fun birthday greeting featuring the “Koala” stamp set:
I paired the Koala Family images with the “Balloons” and the party hat stamp from the “Too Hip” set. The sentiment was created with the “Alpha Tabs” alphabet set. Because the koalas are colored grey, I chose to color the balloons brighter so they gave the card pops of color like the background paper has in its design!
Here’s a closer look at the dimension on the balloons! After coloring, I added some clear dimensional glaze to give them shine and shape:

My third card for today features the new “Condolences” set, paired with the “Elegant Flowers” set. I went with a soft, watercolor look for this card. I know a lot of my crafty friends have a hard time making cards for sad occasions, and I admit, I do, too! Keeping the design simple and the colors soft seems to work well.
Now that you’ve seen all three of my cards, here’s a special treat for you!
You can get 10% off the four new stamp sets at Sweet Stamp Shop with this coupon code:
The coupon is good for today only, and the discount applies to the following stamp sets: “Koala“, “Campout“, “Condolences” and “Foodie“:
Thank you so much for stopping by today! When you place your order, please type my name (Suzanne) in the comments section of the order form so that I get credit for sending you over!

Teacup Alice will make your day! It’s new digi Tuesday at Some Odd Girl Stamps!

Hi, everybody! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! My husband’s birthday was on Sunday, so we went to brunch, then grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, and later had German chocolate cake and ice cream! We also went ice skating for a little bit, which was fun, even though we didn’t stay long!
Since it’s Tuesday, that means it’s time to share my projects with the newest digi at Some Odd Girl Stamps! Today’s card features “Teacup Alice“, paired with a sentiment from the “Renew” clear stamp set. You can find both the digi and the clear stamp set in the Some Odd Girl shop!
I picked some fun teacup paper from American Crafts’ “Soho Garden” 6×6 pad, and colored Mae up to match the paper! For more creative options with this new digi (and with all of the Some Odd Girl Stamps) join us on SOG’s Facebook group!

You can also find more inspiration on the Some Odd Girl blog, where you’ll also find our June Linky Party! To join in the fun, just link up your latest creations with Some Odd Girl digi or clear stamps with the Linky tool on the blog! You just might win a prize and get a shout out on the blog! Make sure you get in before this month’s party is over!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you can take some time just for yourself this week or over the coming weekend!

New digi Tuesday at Some Odd Girl…it’s AWESOME! (Totally!)

Happy Tuesday, everybody! I’m back to share my card for today’s Some Odd Girl Stamps‘ newest digi release!
I went a bit retro with the card…after I colored up this “Pretty Unicorn“, I was inspired to make a card that looked like someone drew and colored the unicorn on a notebook page.

The label part of the sentiment was part of the May Swag bag from Paper Issues, and trimmed it to work with the recolored digital sentiment from Some Odd Girl (it’s part of the brand-new “Yes, Smile Sentiment Cutfile Pack”)!
For more AWESOME inspiration with today’s new digi and cutfiles, stop by the Some Odd Girl blog, join our Facebook group, and “like” the Some Odd Girl company Facebook page, why don’t ya?
Hope your week is off to a great start…and don’t forget to be AWESOME!
