A Foxy Challenge at Moxie Fab World!

Hey there, crafty friends! I’m stopping in this evening to share my card for the new Foxy Foxes Challenge at Moxie Fab World! My friend Thanh challenged me to join her in playing along with the challenge, so here’s what I made with a few of my Some Odd Girl stamp sets and some Simple Stories paper and stickers.

I dressed both foxes with accessories from the “Preppy Pups” and “Hipster Pets” clear stamp sets. The fox on the right is also from the “Hipster Pets” set, and the fox on the left is “Foxy.”
My card was inspired by this fun picture of Thanh & me from CHA this past January that we took at the Elmer’s booth. (You might remember that I shared this picture before on my blog.) A lady who stopped by the Some Odd Girl Stamps booth was kind enough to lend Thanh her foxy scarf for our photo:
The deadline for this challenge is midnight EST on Sunday, September 14th, so there’s still time for you to join in the fun! You can find all of the guidelines and link up your entry at Moxie Fab World!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you enjoyed my card and are inspired to create something foxy, too!

Hugs,

A Pair of Photo-Inspired Challenge Cards!

Happy Friday, crafty friends! I have a couple of cards to share with you today for two photo inspiration challenges at Moxie Fab World and the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog
My first card is for the “Trendy Triangles” challenge at Moxie Fab World. I made the triangle paper by sponging shades of neon ink through a stencil, then flipped the stencil to sponge on the black triangles.
I created the stencil with one of the “Rectangle Card Background” cut files from Some Odd Girl Stamps. Instead of cutting the pattern on card stock, I cut a transparency sheet to make a reusable stencil. I did a tutorial on this technique a few months ago on the Some Odd Girl Stamps blog. The sentiment is from Some Odd Girl Stamps’ “Party Girl Gwen” clear stamp set.
Here’s the inspiration photo for this challenge. I was inspired by the colors and the confetti, which led me to making of a fun birthday card!
The deadline for this challenge is Wednesday, August 20. Stop by the Moxie Fab World blog for all the details and to link up your entry, or to check out the other entries!

My second challenge card is for the Paper Smooches SPARKS “Picture Perfect” challenge. I used Paper Smooches’ “We Totally Click” stamp set and the “Thanks Word Die“.

Here’s the inspiration photo for this challenge, which ends Saturday, August 16th at 11:59 PM PST. I chose the gray of the lamp and pink (although the pink that I used is much brighter than what’s in the picture.) I’m also entering this card in Paper Smooches’ September Guest Designer Search!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing weekend with some crafting time in there somewhere!

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger: I’m Craving Navy!

Hi, everybody! Today, I’m sharing a card that’s inspired by Moxie Fab World’s current Tuesday Trigger! Here’s what I came up with:

I drew from the metallic and warm grey elements in the picture and combined them with the navy for my card. It’s more of a clean and simple design than what I normally do, but I’m happy with how it came out!

 Here’s the inspiration photo:

This challenge runs until Sunday, August 18th at midnight EDT.

Moxie Fab World: Emphasize the Negative Challenge

Hi, everybody! Just stopping in this evening to share my card for the “Emphasize the Negative” challenge at Moxie Fab World!
In this case, emphasizing the negative means to embrace the negative space in your design. I have been experimenting with some alphabet dies on different projects and this card came together fairly quickly.
I lined up the alpha dies and kept them in place with washi tape when I die cut the strip of paper. I used the “b-side” of the chevron paper as a background for the letters, and stamped and embossed the “birthday” part of the sentiment.
Because of the simple design of the card, I decided to keep the embellishments to a minimum and just added twine and a wooden button.
Supplies: alphabet dies (memory box), sentiment stamp (PaperTrey Ink), watermark ink (VersaMark), twine (Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine – Annie’s Paper Boutique), wooden button, patterned paper (woodgrain – “Pretty Party” – Crate paper; chevron – “Sweet Day” – Echo Park), kraft cardstock (PaperTrey Ink).

This challenge runs until April 1st (no fooling) on the Moxie Fab World blog…so there’s still time for you to join in, too!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I’ll have my regularly scheduled TGF Farm Fresh Friday challenge post up shortly!

Moxie Fab World Square Sketch Challenge

Hi there! Glad you stopped by to look at my card for the “Square Sketch Challenge” at the Moxie Fab World blog! It’s part of the celebration for the latest special issue of Paper Crafts Magazine, “Card Ideas for Paper Crafters.”

I had fun with this one…I don’t normally do big elements on my cards, so it was great to stretch my creative horizons and come up with something new and innovative for this challenge!

Here’s my card:

Supplies: card base, cardstock (PaperTrey Ink), twine (My Mind’s Eye), scrap of paper (Crate Paper), Crop-a-Dile, glue, embossing folder (Sizzix), Spellbinders die.
My first thought was to create a large flower, like on the sketch, but I changed my mind and decided to create a twine heart in its place! I’m so happy with how this came out!
And here’s the sketch it’s based on, created by Go-to-Gal Kim Kesti:

Thanks so much for stopping by! This challenge runs until Monday, September 19 at midnight EST. For all the details on this and the other sketch challenges, visit the Moxie Fab World blog!

Moxie Fab World Sketch Challenges: Vertical Sketch Challenge

Happy Thursday and thanks for stopping by to look at the first of two of the cards I’m submitting to the latest round of challenges at the Moxie Fab World blog!

To celebrate the release of the special issue “Card Ideas for Paper Crafters,” four sketches have been presented for paper crafters to play with, and present their ideas for using this sketch in an innovative way!

I made two cards today…the first is for the “Vertical Sketch Challenge.” Here’s my card:

Supplies: patterned paper (Bo Bunny, My Mind’s Eye), typed sentiment, image stamp (A Muse Studio),  letter stamps (Lawn Fawn), star punch, cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), corner rounder, card base, Copic markers.
And here’s the sketch it was based on, created by Go-to-Gal Julie Campbell! (I flipped the sketch for my card):

My next post is for the “Square Sketch Challenge.” Hope you’ll stop by!
