Lawnscaping Challenge: Try a New Technique!

Hi, everybody! Today, I’m sharing my card for the new Lawnscaping Challenge! The theme for this one is “try a new technique”, and it was certainly a challenge to find a new technique!
I decided on “bokeh stamping”. Bokeh backgrounds are a pretty hot trend in photography, and it’s based on the way the camera lens interprets out of focus points of light. Some photographers add shaped filters on the lens to change the blurred lights to stars, hearts, snowflakes or other shapes they love.
You can find LOTS of examples of bokeh photos on Pinterest, and I found some great examples of bokeh-inspired stamping HERE.
My card features the unicorn and a sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s “Critters Ever After” set, and I used the solid star stamp from the “Summertime Charm” set to create the bokeh effect.
For all the guidelines and details on this challenge, visit the Lawnscaping Challenge blog!
And, I have some related happy news…my “Clean and Simple” card for Lawnscaping Challenge #78 was named the winner, aka the “Queen of Green”! YAY!
Here’s the card again:

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you’re having a wonderful week!

Lawnscaping Challenge: Clean & Simple

Hi, everybody! Hope you’re having a great weekend so far!
It’s finally starting to feel like Spring here, and I got out for a little while today and enjoyed the warmer weather!
One of my goals for this year is to play along with more online challenges and break out of my crafty comfort zones, so I made this card for the current Lawnscaping Challenge. “Clean and Simple” is not something I normally do, because I love adding layers, but I gave it a try!
I fell in love with Lawn Fawn’s “Let’s Roll” set at Winter CHA, and I thought it would be a great set to use for this challenge:
And it happens that Scott & I went out for sushi last night, so my timing couldn’t be better!
There are a few days left for this challenge, so if you want to link up an entry, just stop by the Lawnscaping challenge blog and get all of the details!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Hugs,

Christmas Card Challenges: Week 22

Happy Sunday! I’ve been slacking a bit on the Christmas Card Challenges lately…

I worked so far ahead before we moved that I lost track of where I was in the challenge list…here’s hoping this week marks the return of my regular posting routine!

This week’s Christmas Card Challenge is a sketch, and here’s my take:
Image stamps: (“Winter Fox”, “Winter Bunny”, “Winter Owl” – Lawn Fawn), sentiment stamps (“Signature Christmas” – Papertrey Ink), paper (“Christmas Wish” – My Mind’s Eye), snowflake accent (Imaginisce), various Copic markers, white marker, ink (Memento Grey Flannel).
and here’s the sketch!

Don’t forget, all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on our blog so we can stop by and say hi!

It’s not necessary that you use a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp on your card, but we sure love it when you do!

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the fun and festive cards they’ve created this week: AlannaCorinneJennifer, JovitaKarenKatieLeesaLorieMargoMichelePat…and our guest designer for April, Kylie!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful week, and don’t forget to link your entry on the Christmas Card Challenges blog! See you there!

Hugs,
