Lawnscaping Challenge #105

Hi, everybody! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping challenge (#105)! Watercolors are our theme for this one. I’ll admit, I am not a very talented watercolor artist, so I kept things clean and simple again with my challenge card.

I stamped the kitty on watercolor paper and once the ink dried, I colored in the details with my watercolors. I made a simple background by painting on watercolor paper and stamping the sentiment when the paint dried.

I edged the main panel with a gold paint marker, then added solid red twine and an Asian coin charm to the card front. I’ve had a few of the coin charms for years, and I think it was a great choice as an accent on this card.

Lawnscaping Challenge #105 is sponsored by Ellen Hutson! One lucky winner will receive a gift certificate to the Ellen Hutson store!

Lawnscaping FIT April Blog Hop!

It’s the last Friday of the month, so that means it’s time for the Lawnscaping Challenge Facebook Inspiration Team’s (FIT) Monthly Blog Hop! You’ve probably arrived from Lenny’s blog, but in case you’re starting here, you’ll find the full hop list at the bottom of my post!

This month’s hop is once again being sponsored by The Ink Road! Be sure to visit The Ink Road and Lara’s blog! We’ll pick a winner from all of the comments left on our hop to receive a gift certificate to The Ink Road!

PINK is our inspiration color for this month’s hop, so I made a card with Lawn Fawn’s “Best Pun Ever” stamp set and the “Scripty Hello” Lawn Cuts die. The heart-shaped steam is from the “Whale You Be Mine” clear stamp set.

I cut strips of striped paper from the Let’s Polka petite paper packs, lined them up to make a chevron pattern, then adhered them to a thin sheet of card stock before adhering the panel to the front of the card. The sentiment is die cut from a thin sheet of cork.

It’s my Lawnscaping post day!

Hi, everybody! It’s my turn to post today at the Lawnscaping challenge blog and I’m sharing some cards that I made recently.  Since the current challenge is to add dimension to your card, I challenged myself to come up with alternate ideas for adding dimension without using foam tape or a lot of layers.

My first card uses Lawn Fawn’s Bugs and Kisses. I made some custom paper by stamping the bugs in brown ink on kraft card stock, then added some shadows to each bug. I like the effect because it looks like the bugs are popping up off of the background, when they really aren’t!
I used a few Copic markers in the E40 family (E40, E41, E42, and E43) to add the shadows on the kraft card stock. They are very similar to the color of the card stock and make subtle shadows when they’re dry.

To make the worm in a jar, I stamped the jar, worm and branch on a transparency with permanent ink. I stamped another worm and jar lid on white card stock, then colored them both in. Both pieces are attached to the back of the transparency.

Here’s a closer look at the worm in the jar and the card front:

My second card features a scene that I created with the Love You S’More set. It took a while to color everything, but I’m so happy with the final result!

100_5603wm

I planned the background by first stamping the flames and the bear. I masked the flames and the bear and drew in light pencil lines where I wanted to stamp the background line of trees and color in the ground where the bear is sitting.

Here’s a closer look at the card front. After I colored the sky, I heat embossed the stars and used a blender pen to push the color around the stars so they each have a glow.

Lawnscaping FIT March Blog Hop!

It’s the last Friday of the month, so that means it’s time for the Lawnscaping Challenge Facebook Inspiration Team’s (FIT) Monthly Blog Hop! You’ve probably arrived from Sabine‘s blog, but in case you’re starting here, you’ll find the full hop list at the bottom of my post!

This month, the FIT is inspired by GREEN, so I made a mini gift bag and a gift card holder with Lawn Fawn’s “Love You A Latte” and “My Lucky Charm” sets. I made both the gift bag and the card holder with the Goodie Bag Lawn Cuts die.

I made the custom paper by stamping patterns on white card stock and coloring the images.

Lawnscaping Challenge #102 – Distress Addicts

Happy Monday to you! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping challenge! Our theme for challenge # 102 is to distress part of your card, whether you use inks, sprays, or rough up the edges a bit!
Today’s card is super awesome…are you ready?
The distressed elements on my card are the roughed edges on the banner and the gold ink that I sponged around the white panel.
I made the rays with the chopstick from the “Let’s Roll” set. First I stamped the rays with neon yellow ink, then used a couple of my fluorescent Copics to color them in. I’ve included a full list of supplies for this card at the bottom of my post. (If you missed last week’s post where I made a popcorn box with the chopstick, click HERE to check it out.)

It MOOSE be Lawn Fawn’s 5th Birthday!

Hi, everybody! I’m joining a few crafty friends today to wish Lawn Fawn a happy 5th birthday!
You may have arrived from Sharna‘s blog, but in case you’re starting here and want to go back to the start of the hop, you’ll find the full hop list at Jenn‘s blog!
One of the many things I love about Lawn Fawn stamps is the ability to mix up the different sets and create different combinations! Since today’s hop is birthday themed, I thought it would be fun to get the moose from Critters in the Arctic dressed up for a party!
I started by stamping the party hat, then masked it off and stamped the moose. Then, I made masks for the moose’s antlers and stamped the balloons from the Year Four set. I used a black multiliner pen to “tie” the balloons to the antlers.
Then, I colored the images to match the Into the Woods petite paper pad and stamped up a custom sentiment with a few of my Lawn Fawn sets. You can find a full list of the supplies that I used at the bottom of my post.
Your next stop on the hop is Roxanne‘s blog! Thank you so much for stopping by today! Happy hopping!

Lawnscaping Challenge Blog: A fresh take on some Lawn Fawn favorites!

Hi, everybody! It’s time for my monthly post at Lawnscaping Challenges, and I’m taking a fresh look at some of my Lawn Fawn stamps and have some sweet cards to share!

I made this quick love-themed card with the twin popsicle from Here’s The Scoop:

As you can see, the face on the popsicle is in the middle of the image. After stamping, coloring and paper piecing, I cut it down the middle to make two popsicles in love:

My second card is a little sneakier. I used the outline scoop from Here’s The Scoop and the chopstick from Let’s Roll to make a popcorn-themed hello card:

There’s still time to play along with the current Dots and Stripes challenge at the Lawnscaping blog. To link your entry and get all the details on the challenge, click here. There’s an Ellen Hutson gift certificate up for grabs for one lucky winner!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your week is off to a wonderful start! I’d love it if you stopped by the Lawnscaping blog today to say hello!

Lawnscaping Challenge #101: Dots and Stripes

Hi, everybody! Thanks for visiting and for all of the comments you left on the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team’s February blog hop! It warms my heart to see that you liked my card!

It’s the first Monday of the month, so there’s a new challenge up at the Lawnscaping blog! Our theme for this challenge is “Dots and Stripes”, and here’s my take:

After attaching some Let’s Polka paper behind the white card stock to jazz up the die cut word, I placed the smaller pieces cut from inside the letters back in their right spots.

To line everything up, I put the die cut word back into place on the white card stock. Then, it was easy to adhere the smaller pieces back in place like a jigsaw puzzle! After all the smaller pieces were back in place, I removed the die cut word.

This week’s challenge is sponsored by Ellen Hutson, a super site to find all of the latest stamping supplies!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your week is off to a great start! Make sure you link up your entry for Lawnscaping Challenge #101 at the Lawnscaping blog!

I’ll be back on the Lawnscaping blog next Monday with a new project for my monthly post there, and I hope you’ll come by to say hello!

The papers are from Lawn Fawn‘s “Snow Day” petite paper pack. I embellished the card with some heart-shaped brads and some Peppermint Lawn Trimmings twine.
