Keeping it Clean and Simple for GVT!

Greetings, Friends of the Farm! It’s time for a new Garden Variety Tuesday challenge, and this week, we’re keeping it Clean and Simple (also known as CAS).
So, what makes a card “clean and simple”? For one thing, it’s an easy card to reproduce. There aren’t lots of layers; it’s often a one layer card, but can sometimes is two layers. There’s only one focal point, and little or no embellishments. It contains up to three colors, or possibly three different papers.
I chose “Cheeky Lessons” for today’s card. I kept my paper choices simple, only using three, but one solid and another subtle pattern for the mat.
My main image is the focal point of the card, and I kept embellishments to a minimum, with just the ribbon separating the two sections (and those three brads in the corner, which probably don’t need to be there). I stamped my sentiment on the solid paper so that I didn’t have to add another layer.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don’t forget that we’ll be previewing the August TGF release next week…I hope you’ll celebrate with us!

Getting sketchy for Garden Variety Tuesday!

Hi, everybody! We’re getting sketchy with the newest Garden Variety Tuesday challenge at The Greeting Farm! I picked “Cheeky Lessons” for today’s card:
I added some Glossy Accents on her glasses and the apple and substituted two metallic brads for the buttons on the sketch. The sentiment is from my stash.
And here’s our fantastic and fabulous sketch, designed by Farmer Annie Rose:

I haven’t been listing all of my supplies because I’m not sure if it’s still helpful to my readers. Would you still like me to list the supplies for my cards, or just the paper, or are you OK with just the picture of the card? Or, instead of a list of supplies, do you prefer the click-and-shop links that other bloggers use? Just let me know in the comments section…thanks so much!

And THANK YOU so much for stopping by today! It’s a busy posting week for me, so I hope you’ll bear with me…I’ll have at least two posts per day until Saturday, but I can assure you that you’ll be inspired and delighted!

TGF Garden Variety Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday, y’all! It’s time for a new Garden Variety Tuesday at The Greeting Farm!
After seeing all of Farmer Joni‘s lovely no-line coloring, I am taking the plunge this week and trying it myself!
I am always skeptical when it comes to coloring things this way, but I’m pretty happy with the finished product! I always keep a “regular” stamped image of what I’m no-line coloring in front of me as I color. It helps to guide me as I’m trying to figure out the parts of the image.
TGF images are perfect for those of you who have been wanting to give no-line coloring a try. Starting with a very detailed image will quickly overwhelm you…start with something simpler and familiar and give it a try! I use Memento Angel Pink to stamp images when I’m no-line coloring instead of traditional black ink.
I went a bit retro on today’s card with “Wild West Anya”, who has ridden off into the sunset at The Greeting Farm (she’s retired). I also used TGF’s Polaroid die, which was just released this month as part of a 3-die set:
In case you haven’t guessed, today’s GVT is a color combo challenge:

Thanks so much for stopping by today, pardner!

=====================
Hello friends of the Farm! I hope you’re having an absolutely fabulous week so far!
If you haven’t had the chance to hop along with us for our July release blog hop, make sure you do, because all comments are due by 11:30PM Central Time TONIGHT (July 2nd)…one lucky hopper will take home the grand prize package…”Tuesday Premiere“, “Cheeky Lessons” AND the Film and Polaroid Die Set!
The blog hop starts at the TGF blog (here’s the link to the hop post). Once you’re done visiting all the blogs, stop by the TGF blog to let us know how much you enjoyed the hop!
Even though we’re still celebrating the July release, we’re starting a new Garden Variety Tuesday challenge, and it’s one that should encourage a LOT of entries: “Anything Goes”!

I chose “Tuesday Premiere” for today’s card! I found this paper pack on clearance and thought it would be perfect to pair with Tuesday Premiere! (The sentiment is from my stamp stash.)

So, are you ready to play along with us? Here’s what you’ll need to know:

  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded via the InLinkz tool on the TGF blog at the bottom of the post no later than Monday, July 8 at NOON CST. • The fabulous prize: A random participant will be selected to win a digital image of choice from the TGF store.
  • But, WAIT! Each week, our friends have the opportunity to DOUBLE that prize to either two digis or, you can trade those two digis for a SINGLE rubber stamp of choice, as long as we have 20 or more players each week, so encourage all your friends and family to play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week, and a safe and happy Fourth of July holiday if you’re in the United States!

Hugs,

TGF Farm Fresh Friday: Thanks, Teacher!

Happy Friday, Friends of the Farm! I hope you’ve enjoyed all of our sneak peeks of TGF’s July release! Don’t forget about our New Release Blog Hop on Monday, July 1st!
Thank you all for the sweet comments you left for me and the other DT members as we previewed the Film Strip and Polaroid die set!
Today’s Farm Fresh Friday is all about thanking teachers!
Unfortunately, I don’t have kids, so I don’t make school-related projects. I think my gift card holder is kind of all-purpose, though…I just styled it with a school theme with the notebook designer paper and the blackboard strip across the middle.
I chose to feature Fancy Anya on my gift card holder because I picked her up recently and wanted to color her up! I made the gift card holder by folding a piece of designer paper in thirds, making sure it wrapped around the gift card, but leaving enough room to insert and remove the card easily.
To keep it in place, I punched a set of two small holes under the notch that I cut at the top (using a small Spellbinders circle, but you could definitely use a circle punch). I looped some twine around the card and tied a bow, threading the twine through the punched holes. Once the bow is untied, you can pull the card out with the twine!
Here’s the info you’ll need to participate in this challenge:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz (at the bottom of this challenge’s post at the TGF blog) no later than Thursday, July 4th at NOON CST. You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria.  (If the InLinkz tool is missing, please link your submission URL in the comment section at the bottom of the post.)
  • The fabulous prize: A random participant will be selected to win their choice of an in-stock SINGLE RUBBER STAMP or a 4×6 set!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

TGF July Release Preview!

HELLO Friends of the Farm! It’s our third and final day of sneak peek previews for the July release at The Greeting Farm! Today, we’re previewing the Polaroid die set. This set also comes with a film strip die and a larger heart die.

I was inspired by a retro Hollywood theme when I was creating my previews for this release, so for my first card, I’m pairing “Tuesday Premiere” with the Polaroid die and film strip. I also colored her in cool shades of grey to match the black & white papers:

And I couldn’t resist doing another card with the retro-fresh loveliness ofCheeky Glamour!
So, what do you think? Would you like to win this die set? Great! You’ll find the full list of the design team members participating in today’s preview at The Greeting Farm’s blog!
Stop by each designer’s blog to check out their preview creations, leave a sweet comment for each one (and stop by the TGF blog to leave a comment there and let us know you’ve visited all the blogs, and we’ll pick a random winner from all the comments!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure to also join us on July 1 for our new release blog hop, when the new release stamps and die set will be available in the TGF Store!
