TGF Farm Fresh Friday: Buttons and Twine!

(If you’re looking for my Whimsy & Stars Studio blog hop post, please click HERE or scroll down! Thanks!!!)

Happy Friday, everybody! This is my first of two posts for today, and I’m so excited to share this card with you! One of the reasons I enjoy stamping TGF’s Bean collection is that not only do they come with their own sentiments, but they are fun for when you want to express your “artsy” side!
I’ve really been inspired by chalkboard-themed cards and art lately, and I thought that “Lovey Bean” would be great to use with that style! It’s a really easy technique to do, especially if you’ve heat embossed a stamped image before!

Here’s an example that I found on etsy:
art (c) Lily & Val
For my card, I stamped the image on black card stock with watermark ink, then sprinkled on some opaque white embossing powder, shook off the excess, then heat embossed the image.

I have found that it’s helpful to rub a static pouch over the card stock before heat embossing. It gets rid of most of the little random specks of embossing powder before they are heat set. I’ve also seen recommendations online to use dryer sheets, or talcum powder, but I haven’t tried either one yet.

Are you ready to join us? Here are the details that you’ll need to play along:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded to the TGF blog via the InLinkz tool at the bottom of the challenge post no later than Thursday, February 14 at NOON CST. (You can add a direct link from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF Galleria. If the InLinkz tool isn’t working, just leave your link in the comments section of the challenge post on the TGF blog.)
  • The fabulous prize…a random participant will be selected to win their choice of an in-stock SINGLE RUBBER STAMP or a 4×6 set! (We’ve increased our prize offering for 2013 — we hope you enjoy it!)

TGF Farm Fresh Friday: Ribbon/Lace

Happy Friday, everybody! It’s time for a new Farm Fresh Friday challenge at The Greeting Farm!
You still have a few days to play along with our Double Take Tuesday color challenge, too! Just scroll down to my next post or stop by The Greeting Farm’s blog for all the details!
Our theme for this week’s Farm Fresh Friday is Ribbon and/or lace! I chose to use both on my card.
It has been a while since I colored in monochrome (this time, I added in light shades of pink to all the greys), and I wanted to do something different with “Lovey Bean” for this card. Several of the Valentine’s pads in my stash had some kind of grey with red and/or pink, so I let that guide my inspiration.
The most challenging part of coloring this way is deciding what temperature the greys will be. I used mostly neutral greys, but also some cool and warm shades as needed. I also picked the lightest shades of red and red-violet markers to accent parts of the image.
Here are the details that you’ll need to play along with this challenge:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded to the TGF blog via the InLinkz tool at the bottom of the challenge post no later than Thursday, February 8 at NOON CST. (You can add a direct link from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF Galleria. CCC Week 9 – Red, White and Brown

It’s Sunday, so that means it’s time for a new Christmas Card Challenge! This week, we’re inspiring you with a color combo!

We’re creating cards with red, white and brown…and here’s mine:

Supplies: patterned paper (My Mind’s Eye), image stamp (“Anya Celebrates” – The Greeting Farm), sentiment stamp (My Mind’s Eye), twine (Trendy Twine), wood button, brads, metal die (“Insta Love Die Set” – Your Next Stamp)

Remember, all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on our blog so we can stop by and say hi!

It’s not necessary that you use a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp on your card, but we sure love it when you do!

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the fun and festive cards they’ve created this week: AlannaCorinneJennifer, JovitaKarenKatieLeesaLorie,MargoMichelePatStephanie…and our guest designer Rachel!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful week, and don’t forget to link your entry on the Christmas Card Challenges blog! See you there!

TGF Farm Fresh Friday: Punch It!

Happy Friday, friends of the farm! It’s time for a new Farm Fresh challenge at The Greeting Farm! This week, we’d like you to break out some of your favorite punches or dies and share your TGF creation with us!

I chose to feature “Awareness Anya” again this week! For this challenge, I’m pairing her with a classic heart die and a sentiment from TGF’s “Lovey Dovey” set. This combo would work for a Valentine’s card, a general love card, or to send some words of encouragement to someone battling heart disease.

TGF Double Take Tuesday!

Hello, crafty friends of the farm! It’s time for a new Double-Take Tuesday challenge at The Greeting Farm! Today, we’re inspiring you with a color challenge!
I was inspired by our color combo of blue and yellow to create this sweet card with the lovely “Awareness Anya“! Her ribbon can be used for so many occasions & causes, so I decided to go with a “Support Our Troops” theme!
My husband, Scott, recently departed the U.S. Army after 16 years of service, so my card this week is a shout out to him!
He’s still making the transition to civilian life, and it’s been a fun (and interesting) process. I convinced him to switch out his combat boots for other shoes. Even though they are boots of a different style and color, it’s a step in the right direction! I am so proud of him and for his many years of service!

I typed the sentiment in Word, printed it and used my Copics to color the sentiment strip to match the other papers.

For all the details on this challenge, check out the post at the TGF blog…and please take the time to check out what my fellow Showcase Team members have created for this challenge (here’s a hint: they’re all fabulous!): Anita, Annie Rose, Jo, Jodi, Joni, Rachel and Rosemary!
Wait, there’s more! When we have 20 or more players each week, the prize doubles to either two digis, or the winner can trade those two digis for a single rubber stamp of their choice! So, what are you waiting for? Get crafty!
We all can’t wait to see what you’ll create for this challenge! Thanks so very much for stopping by!

Farm Fresh Friday: Thank You!

Hi crafty friends! There’s a new “Farm Fresh Friday” challenge up today at The Greeting Farm blog, and I’ve got a new card to share with you!

Since today is International Thank You Day, we’re celebrating with cards that say, well, “thank you”!

My card for this week features my new favorite Wild Sprout, “Gracie.”

I chose the sentiment from TGF’s “Lucky Bunnies” clear stamp set. I think it’s a great all-around sentiment for someone who’s dear to you or to say thank you to someone who’s gone the extra mile to do something special for you!

To further customize the card, you could stamp “thank you” on the inside when you write your personal message!

Are you ready to play along with us?

Here are the details:

  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz on the TGF blog no later than Thursday, January 17 at NOON CST. You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria. (If the InLinkz tool is missing, feel free to link your submission URL in a comment.)
