TGF Farm Fresh Friday: It’s So Easel!

Hi everybody! It’s time for a new Farm Fresh Friday challenge at The Greeting Farm!

Hope you had a great week…it’s been kind of a roller coaster for me…we are trying to close on a new house next week, and it’s been pretty crazy!

OK, now on to our challenge! This week, we’re making easel cards. If you’ve never made an easel card before, Showcase Team Member Annie Rose made this awesome graphic to show you one way to put it all together:

You can make these in really any shape or dimension, but the technique of creating the easel is still the same. Normally, I make square easel cards or horizontal easel cards. I think this is my first “portrait” easel card!
I’m spotlighting TGF’s “Blush Beatrice” today:

Other supplies: kraft cardstock, sentiment stamp (“Blush Beatrice” – The Greeting Farm), twine (Whisker Graphics), patterned paper (“Lemonade” mini pad – Basic Grey), dies (Classic Circles, Lacey Circles- Spellbinders), Copic markers, wood veneer banner accent (Studio Calico), brads, foam tape, corner rounder, sewing machine.
Ready to play along with our challenge? Here’s how:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz at the bottom of the challenge post on the TGF blog no later than Thursday, March 28th at NOON CST.
  • You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria. (If the InLinkz tool is missing, feel free to link your submission URL in the comment section!)
  • The fabulous prize: A random participant will be selected to win their choice of an in-stock SINGLE RUBBER STAMP or a 4×6 set!

Farm Fresh Friday — Greeting Farm Style!

Happy Friday, friends of the Farm! I’m so happy to be here today with a St. Patrick’s Day-inspired card to share with you! I chose The Greeting Farm’s new Blush on the block, “Beatrice,” for my card:

After coloring her, I wanted to add a clover accent, so I punched four mini hearts out of cardstock. I added some details with a Copic marker, ran the punched pieces through a Xyron sticker machine, and then arranged them over her hands to make it look like she’s holding a clover! And of course, I had to add a little sparkle with some Stickles!

Other supplies: patterned paper (My Mind’s Eye), Spellbinders dies (circle, small scalloped circle), embossing folder (Sizzix) , twine (Whisker Graphics), sewing machine, mini heart punch, Copic markers, opaque white marker, Stickles glitter glue.
Ready to join in the fun? Here’s what you’ll need to know:

*You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.

*Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz on this challenge’s post at the TGF blog no later than Thursday, March 14th at NOON CST.

Farm Fresh Friday: Flowers!

Hi everybody! Welcome back for a new Farm Fresh Friday challenge at The Greeting Farm!
This has been a crazy week…we’ve been on our cross-country move road trip from Washington state to Virginia. We got caught in some wild snowy weather in Colorado, and had a mishap with our moving trailer in Ohio today (the left wheel was wobbling, and when we were at the rental place getting it fixed, it wobbled enough to almost fall off!), but tomorrow should be a much easier day. Whew!
I am so glad that I was able to work ahead and get all of my DT deadlines done before we hit the road. I’m hoping to get back to coloring tonight and this weekend…I’ve missed it so much!
Without further ado, I’m pleased to present my card for this week’s FFF, featuring “Gracie” (and a die and a sentiment from the new clear stamp and die sets):
You may recognize the flower die from the brand-new “Mini Fleurs w/die” set, and the sentiment from the new “Mini Cupcakes w/die” set!
I also used the sketch from this week’s DTT challenge…if you haven’t linked up your card yet, there’s still time to join us!
For all the details on both of these challenges, stop by The Greeting Farm blog!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

TGF Farm Fresh Friday: Buttons and Twine!

(If you’re looking for my Whimsy & Stars Studio blog hop post, please click HERE or scroll down! Thanks!!!)

Happy Friday, everybody! This is my first of two posts for today, and I’m so excited to share this card with you! One of the reasons I enjoy stamping TGF’s Bean collection is that not only do they come with their own sentiments, but they are fun for when you want to express your “artsy” side!
I’ve really been inspired by chalkboard-themed cards and art lately, and I thought that “Lovey Bean” would be great to use with that style! It’s a really easy technique to do, especially if you’ve heat embossed a stamped image before!

Here’s an example that I found on etsy:
art (c) Lily & Val
For my card, I stamped the image on black card stock with watermark ink, then sprinkled on some opaque white embossing powder, shook off the excess, then heat embossed the image.

I have found that it’s helpful to rub a static pouch over the card stock before heat embossing. It gets rid of most of the little random specks of embossing powder before they are heat set. I’ve also seen recommendations online to use dryer sheets, or talcum powder, but I haven’t tried either one yet.

Are you ready to join us? Here are the details that you’ll need to play along:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded to the TGF blog via the InLinkz tool at the bottom of the challenge post no later than Thursday, February 14 at NOON CST. (You can add a direct link from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF Galleria. If the InLinkz tool isn’t working, just leave your link in the comments section of the challenge post on the TGF blog.)

TGF Farm Fresh Friday: Ribbon/Lace

Happy Friday, everybody! It’s time for a new Farm Fresh Friday challenge at The Greeting Farm!
You still have a few days to play along with our Double Take Tuesday color challenge, too! Just scroll down to my next post or stop by The Greeting Farm’s blog for all the details!
Our theme for this week’s Farm Fresh Friday is Ribbon and/or lace! I chose to use both on my card.
It has been a while since I colored in monochrome (this time, I added in light shades of pink to all the greys), and I wanted to do something different with “Lovey Bean” for this card. Several of the Valentine’s pads in my stash had some kind of grey with red and/or pink, so I let that guide my inspiration.
The most challenging part of coloring this way is deciding what temperature the greys will be. I used mostly neutral greys, but also some cool and warm shades as needed. I also picked the lightest shades of red and red-violet markers to accent parts of the image.
Here are the details that you’ll need to play along with this challenge:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded to the TGF blog via the InLinkz tool at the bottom of the challenge post no later than Thursday, February 8 at NOON CST. (You can add a direct link from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF Galleria. If the InLinkz tool isn’t working, just leave your link in the comments section of the challenge post on the TGF blog.)
  • The fabulous prize…a random participant will be selected to win their choice of an in-stock SINGLE RUBBER STAMP or a 4×6 set! (We’ve increased our prize offering for 2013 — we hope you enjoy it!)

Farm Fresh Friday: Thank You!

Hi crafty friends! There’s a new “Farm Fresh Friday” challenge up today at The Greeting Farm blog, and I’ve got a new card to share with you!

Since today is International Thank You Day, we’re celebrating with cards that say, well, “thank you”!

My card for this week features my new favorite Wild Sprout, “Gracie.”

I chose the sentiment from TGF’s “Lucky Bunnies” clear stamp set. I think it’s a great all-around sentiment for someone who’s dear to you or to say thank you to someone who’s gone the extra mile to do something special for you!

To further customize the card, you could stamp “thank you” on the inside when you write your personal message!

Are you ready to play along with us?

Here are the details:

  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz on the TGF blog no later than Thursday, January 17 at NOON CST. You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria. (If the InLinkz tool is missing, feel free to link your submission URL in a comment.)
